Pros: Very helpful staff, excellent breakfast, easy parking, good location, lucky to find any accommodation at all as it was the last room available on the island.
Cons: We apparently booked a "budget room" although we paid 300 Euros for 2 nights. Toilet and showers were across the corridor and not private. The room was terribly hot and noisy in the morning when early birds packed their cars.

Very friendly and helpful staff.

The hotel is good value but a bit dated. The bathroom was cramped and the door does not close. There is a light above the wash basin but only works after pulling a cord. Not obvious. The light above the desk did not work. The heating was off when I came, but I could turn it on so it heated up after a while. The staff were friendly and the sitting/dining room is cosy. It is close to the town and easily reached by bus and about 10 min walk. They have bicycles for hire.

Hotel was the dirtiest and most unfriendliest i have ever encountered you could write your name on the smoke laden walls of the rooms , the cupboard had a smell which could only be described as having something die and decomposed over months. front desk clerk was no help and the chef laziest in europe actually went to his bed at lunch time and unavailable until 4pm then would only cook for small amount of guests . i would definitely not booked this hotel if hotels.com had done their due diligence and gave true account

I went to Texel on a whim hoping for good weather despite the forecast and I won :)
This hotel in the main town of Den Burg was the cheapest option for one person but by no means was the quality that of a budget place. I stayed a total of 4 night and it was amazing.
My favorite part was the breakfast which was extensive. There was a large range of breads including fresh (toasted) croissants. I requested a vegetarian breakfast. The staff made sure the breakfast was to my liking each time I requested it. Due to covid, you can request what you like the day before, and they will have it ready at the specific time frame. Divine!
I chose a small room which had two beds. There was a small desk and TV and a closet. The wifi worked good.
There was a shared bathroom and a separate shower room very close by my room. My visit was in the off season (January = cold) so it was quiet. The common areas as well as my room was kept very clean on the daily.
Outside is a parking area for bikes and even two charging stations for e-bikes.
The location is great: just on the outskirts of the town of Den Burg and easy access to the main roads that lead to the various sights.

First the room. It was generally tired and in serious need of refurbishment, most notably the bathroom that was damp, had paint peeling off the painted tiles and the edges of the bath were unacceptably dirty, as well as crumbling and quite possibly showing black mould.Next the service. My wife complained about the bathroom and asked for it to be cleaned. The response was to be told that it wasn’t dirty, just old, and that she was unable to deal with it as she was the only staff member on duty. The attempt to clean the bathroom the next day was inadequate. Dirt could still be removed with damp toilet tissue.Upon arrival we were told that the restaurant was not available because the chef would not be on duty.Generally speaking, the hotel was well below the standard one expects for €130 per night, and the cleanliness standards would be unacceptable at any price.

There is nothing fancy here, but good value and the staff could not have been more helpful.

There was no elevator. The toilet made noise and they couldn’t fix it.
The room had a surprise: a bubblebath but it couldn’t bubble: the mechanism was broke

Only for one night, it's ok, you don't want to stay much longer. Noisy in the morning

We had two rooms side by side on the top floor, each with a whirlpool bath. Breakfast was good.

Paper thin walls and despite confirming rooms with ensuite bathrooms they gave us rooms with shared shower facilities. Saying this is what was confirmed, which was not true.
