Helpful staff, clean spacious room, restaurant with reasonable selection of good food. Good choice at breakfast buffet.
Close to River Mosel could not see as Mway and buildings in way. On a main road. Good frequency of bus service to centre of Trier 6 km distant.
Good value for money

This property was nothing like it’s photos. The front desk staff called her boss and he said we could leave as the room smelled and it was old and not at all what was represented on the Expedia site. Her boss said fine to leave then when the wonderful Expedia agent contacted them they said they didn’t say that and would charge me . Unreal.

Quaint family owned and run hotel

Extremely lovely and friendly staff, even with a language barrier. The hotel is quaint and feels very safe. 10/10 would go back again

This hotel is fine, but the surrounding area is run down. It was very hot during our stay and they have no fans. If you leave the window open the room fills with flies.

It was a great hotel, staff was friendly, they were accommodating with our schedule, restaurant was delicious.

The hotel was perfectly adequate. A little dated, but perfectly comfortable with a huge bathroom that has been updated with a big shower. There is nothing to see or do in the little suburb where it is located, but you can drive to downtown Trier in about 10 or 15 minutes. We chose it because it was 5 minutes away from the Hertz where we were dropping off our rental car to catch a train to Paris the following morning. Breakfast was good.

Stayed 2 nights in July. Rooms are decent but lack A/C. Thankfully it was cool out and with the windows open it was comfortable - downside, no screens = bugs when lights are on. The breakfast buffet was excellent for the price. We drove to Trier and Luxembourg within an hour or so. Unfortunately there isnt much around the hotel itself. The attached resturant served very good dinners and Staff there as well as the hotel were friendly and helpful.

Enjoyed our stay. Even though it was on a busy road the room was quiet. Pleasant staff, not great pillows.

About a 10 minute drive from the heart of Trier, Hotel zur Post offered a comfortable stay with an extraordinary (and free!) breakfast buffet. The highlight of this hotel was likely its morning meal. Its location is also close enough to Trier that one can drive to see the great sights and do some shopping. The carpeting and older Bavarian-style decorating made the interior feel rather dated.

I admit, I was put off at first when we arrived due to location, but the hotel is nice inside. Rooms have been modernized and are clean. Hotel has an elevator which you don't often see in older places. It is a 15 minute drive to the old town of Trier, so if you are looking for ambiance, this may not be for you, but it was a nice hotel. Free parking was located across the street on the side of the road in a gravelled area. Breakfast buffet was pretty expansive.

Used this as a stop-over en route from Dunkirk to Alsace. Excellent hotel with generous rooms in a new wing on the back of the hotel. Excellent, well priced Italian food in the restaurant. 10 min drive to Trier which has some interesting Roman remains, lots of other attractions and excellent shopping.

Friendly front desk people, excellent breakfast (although extra $). Construction getting there caused delay in arrival but will be fine once road construction finished. Love the extra chocolates at front desk :-)

The hotel staff was great, the only complaint we have was the bed was very uncomfortable because the mattress was too hard. Other than that everything else was good.

Well placed for easy drive into Trier and for autobahn. Good restaurant for dinner

The noise level from traffic on the road outside was extraordinary. We had the windows open on this summer night, which made the temperature comfortable, but the noise was really bad. The bed was very hard, which made sleeping difficult for both of us. The hotel is well kept and the staff are pleasant and friendly. The problems were not things they could fix. I would not stay there again.

The hotel staff went out of their way to make us as comfortable as possible during our stay. We didn't eat at the restaurant so we can't speak to it, but the breakfast buffet in the mornings is wonderful and a good value. The owners were very friendly, the rooms were nicely renovated without losing their charm, and the beds were super comfortable! We would gladly stay here again!

Brilliant, fantastic stay in this premiere place, great value, exceptional service and lovely restaurant, we didn't even bother heading in to town the bar here was so good. It is a few km's from town but that meant easy parking!! would definately go back, ideal for road trip users!
