Great experience, a privilege to stay at El Tovar. Very Friendly and helpful staff at the front desk, the clerk smiled and greeted us, (you do not see that very often anymore). Beautiful place, very well kept. The AC is a bit loud, but after doing Rim to Rim it was ignored easily. Thank you.

The food is good but served colder than it should be. The property is a mass carpets are filthy. It needs a complete upgrade inside and out. The only reason to stay here is because it's on the canyon rim.

This property needs a serious upgrade or just general maintenance would help. The plumbing doesn't work no hot water at certain times no water pressure paint feeling railings unpainted. Carpet needs to be replaced, filthy. Staff has a attitude of it's not my problem. Flies in the dining room windows not clean. Beds are horrible Uncomfortable. hard as a rock, old,stained & disgusting. Garbage cans with no liners in the rooms. Like making reservations for dinner is a complete nightmare, Is front desk stafthey have plenty of seating but their reservation system is inadequate. Reservation staff need to be Reviewed attitude attitude attitude attitude. The young staff members are very helpful however.

This hotel was in a perfect location! We have watched the National Lampoon’s Vacation movie so many times and have always thought it would be fun to stay here and it was outstanding! The room was great and it was so wonderful to literally walk out of the hotel and be standing at the Grand Canyon! Highly recommend!

It was amazing to stay in a rustic lodge on the rim of the Grand Canyon. If you are going to enjoy the sights and embrace the scenery than this is the place to stay. The hotel is over 100 years old and possesses the rustic charm from that period.

We stayed for two nights In July 2024 and loved every moment. The hotel is in the perfect position to explore the Grand Canyon. But please do not expect it to be ultra-modern. The staff are excellent and the restaurant was exceptional. No problem getting a reservation. Well done El Tovar

We stayed here a couple of weekends ago and for $600 a night we’re quite disappointed. What you pay is just not what you get and I’d recommend one of the other hotels for half the price. Additionally, we had dinner at their restaurant that has reservations booked out by weeks (even though when we went it was empty) and it was some of the worst pasta we’ve ever had. There was zero sauce on the noodles and they were incredibly hard. I’d recommend checking out Bright Angel instead for half the price.

The property is continently located in the Grand Canyon village. However these is no dedicated parking, even though parking is close it fills up quickly. This is a shame as they could easily make of dedicated as there is plenty of parking for other visitors who don’t have luggage. The room was great and very comfortable The staff could have been more helpful and available. Upon arrival a man at the desk asked if they could help and we said we’d like to check in but he then said he couldn’t help as was doing something time sensitive. When checking out there was no one at reception and no clear instructions as to whether to wait or leave our key cards on the counter
