Beautiful property, peaceful and convenient, great breakfast, excellent service
5.0 / 5.0
The hotel is in a great location on top of the cliffs with easy access to a beautiful beach 2 mins walk away. The whole hotel is lovely, rooms, pools etc. we did notice one of the restaurants in the hotel was shut but there were restaurants within walking distance if you didn’t mind a 29 min walk otherwise it would be very limited dining. The old town is a free bus ride away but it’s a 25 min walk as it only runs 3 times a day. Here you will find the ‘party’ if you wanted it, it’s lovely in day before the clubs get going, but it’s worth noting the hotel itself is in a lovely peaceful quite spot on top of the cliffs with sea views.

Lovely hotel; slightly soulless atmosphere

the pools outside and beach were nice however considering the cost of this hotel I would have expected a greater quality of fixtures and service

The setting around the pool area and gardens are so natural and peaceful. Beautiful. The walk to the beach and the beach itself is amazing. Food was nice. Beyond that this is not 5 star. It really misses the mark when competing with other 5 star hotels along the Algarve. Nothing for kids to do, no other food options beyond the buffet which at £40 a head is very expensive to eat in each night. No other activities for adults bar Yoga on a Saturday morning. Bar is basic and entertainment is ok. There is an Italian beside the beach that has a much better vibe and evening entertainment. It was changing hands by the looks of things and hopefully will improve. I’d pay extra and try Epic Sana instead.

Rated 5 stars but not 5 star hotel

Didn’t explore the area around as just used as a base but the hotel is really nice, the service is outstanding and a really good breakfast!

Over not a 5star hotel

Was of good standard, but wouldn’t rate it 5 star.

The hotel was lovely, quiet and calm. Our room was huge, clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast was great and a lot of choice. We had a view of the sea which was great. Not sure I would rate it as a 5* but its not far off. The prices within the hotel were very expensive - 18 euros for a rather bland sandwich was too much.

Gorgeous property and amazing staff! Only issue was the lack of plugs in the room. Other than that 10/10.

We liked the design of the hotel, the overall vibe, the breakfast, the rooms, the gym, the morning view from the outside breakfast tables, the location close to the sea, the swimming pools, the terrace. The limited number of rooms.
The reception staff changes quite frequently so it's hard to socially create a connection. Sometimes the English is a bit less fluent but manageable as long as the person is customer friendly and keeps smiling. There were a few employees that needed to de-ice at first but turned out to be funnier and having more sense of humor than initially expressed. It's a bit of a pity that the carpets in the corridors are creeping and not as flat and tight as they are supprosed to be. More free drink water bottles would come in handy. There were a few small defects in our room that remained unfixed such as the TV. Ridiculous to try and charge money to watch a movie. This should be included.

Hotel is very nice. Our room was large, clean and well equipped.
Only downside are food options. Pool side bar and staff were very particular. Not allowed to order or eat anywhere other than the table. Weren't allowed to eat by the sun loungers which is very odd. No other lunch options other than that.
Buffet was good but could at least serve water as a minimum. Still water was 6 euros which is an absolute rip off.

Worst place to stay
They are so greedy and expensive for nothing. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere like why is everything so expensive. $4 for a small Coca Cola $5 for water like why this is not even Miami. And for the buffet Jesus Christ, why making people pay almost $50 for some weird foods. The building is also old

All around very nice property in a beautiful location.

My 15 year old daughter and I had a mini break together and NAU Sao Rafael Atlantico was the perfect location. The room was spacious with stunning views of the garden and although our room was located near the pools, it was really quiet and we weren't disturbed by any noticeable noise. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and made sure our every need was catered for. The gardens and pool area were immaculate and the boardwalk down to the beach was stunning. Plenty of dining options - we opted to have the buffet style dinner and the variety was fabulous and delicious. Definitely the place to stay if you're looking for a relaxing break. We didn't use the spa facilities but we were offered discounted rates while we were there. Will absolutely return.

We had an interesting stay. It’s a more remote location, so if you don’t have a car you need to Uber which was readily available. We had requested twin, and on arrival the bed was made double. We had the furthest walk as right on the end of the floor. Reception staff (Robnson), cleaning staff, younger man in Arabian bar and shorter man doing egg station in 7 seas were exceptional, however others were rude and obviously prioritised locals over serving English. I had a small injury as reception recommended getting ice from the pool bar, yet when we got there they were very reluctant and unhappy to do so. The hotel facilities are getting tired in general, including the boardwalk down to the beach. I would only recommend this as a long weekend stay as there are better options to be found. Could do a lot better.

A beautiful hotel with lovely facilities and close to the beach. Staff were so friendly.

This property is nothing but beautiful and in a peaceful location, though I would day some of the services in the pool bar area was not upto the standards one would expect as a 5 start resort. Furthermore, vegetarian options were very limited for lunch and dinners. Breakfast, however was excellent! Shoutout to Isabella on the reception desk, she was excellent!! Made my check- in process so smooth.
Loved the hotel beach, quite spot to relax and kayaks were available too to venture out on some water sport activity.

Excellent hotel with great size room, which was extremely clean and comfortable. Hotel in easy walk of beach and local restaurants. Buffet breakfast was fantastic! Would highly recommend this hotel.

Didnt realise how far away everything is from the hotel. Not the hotels fault just wish that had been on the information about the hotel before booking

The property and surrounding area was lovely, but despite daily requests for vegan options for breakfast and dinner pre-paid for and emailed to hotel it was very limited. Last afternoon asked if they could make a vegan burger for evening and was given risotto and only buffet food was carbs rice and chips but saw on bar menu vegan burger. So service was poor in that respect. Also drinks prices very high, shower gel and shampoo in room but no conditioner. Received a bottle of wine for using Expedia but no cork screw, when asked for one told I would be charged room service fees
1.0 / 5.0
Air conditioning only remained at 21 degrees
TV remote in the room didn’t function
Pool bar is overly expensive (€6 for 50cl beer and £6 for a big bottle of water)
I found some of the staff to be rude also
Poor nights sleep most nights due to noisy neighbours
Pillows are awful and they try to charge you for better ones
Breakfast buffet isn’t the best.

Amazing hotel, friendly staff, great food, rooms were great. Overall fantastic hotel, however the Spa in the hotel was a bit of a let down as we paid extra to access however no one told us the sauna , hydropall and more were not currently working. Talking to someone who uses it on the reglar at the hotel this had been broken for over a week yet didnt think to tell us. Woud have just used the pool otherwise. Staff in the spa didnt seam to care too much about it when notified. Would have been 5 stars if not for this as spa was why we chose the hotel in the end.

It was one of the nicest hotels I've stayed at. Stayed for 7 nights and got a room upgrade which was great! It has good access to the beach, spa facilities are nice. Staff was helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast, but the buffet dinner option was was worth the price, since most restaurants nearby were still closed, we ended up eating a lot at the chill bar. The food was tastey but menu is limited. Old town shuttle service only goes twice a day so if you miss it, uber is the only option to go around.
All in all it was a good stay. I would recommend the hotel!

Thoroughly enjoyed our week at this wonderful hotel. Glorious surroundings, nice walk to the beach, fabulous indoor and outdoor swimming pools.
2.0 / 5.0
A decently priced low season getaway. The resort could use some repairs and updates, but overall was quite spacious and offered quite a few amenities despite being the low season for vacationing. A bike race was taking place in Albufiera on the day of our arrival that closed all routes to the hotel for the day, which the hotel failed to inform us about ahead of time, so we had to spend hours at a mall waiting for the race to end before being able to check into the hotel. A message was sent the day before check in via whatsapp to inquire if anything was needed prior to arrival, which was very nice, but lacking in information regarding the race that closed all routes to the hotel's location for the day. This failure to communicate really made a very poor first impression, but after the delayed arrival, the hotel did a decent job in providing an enjoyable stay.
