Relaxed atmosphere. Good service,Staff pleasant and polite. Clean and comfortable. Food very good with freshly cooked breakfasts.
Not far from beach or shops.
Own carpark but slightly tricky amongst the RSJs if busy.

We chose this hotel as it offered free overnight parking. However, hubby needed a buggy to get about which are banned at the hotel. The lift isn’t what I’d call completely H&S safe. No door to the front and as it moves floors quite unsafe. The rooms unbearably hot. Even with windows open and a fan on all night. The beds uncomfortable and I felt like I was falling out due to one side collapsing on the mattress. The rooms are very small. The two of us couldn’t sit at the little table as not enough room and had to walk around the bed side ways. The shower didn’t work properly. Breakfast ok. The plastic around the black pudding was left on when cooked. Scrambled egg was watery and grape stems found in the fresh fruit. Certainly not worth the price. All the meals were over priced. Then there’s the so called over sensitive fire alarm that goes off at the drop of a hat. No one came to tell us all was well. So could have burnt to death. They wouldn’t care. When we complained, the general manager tried to make out we were being over sensitive. The staff do the best they can. But not really bothered as they roll there eyes thinking, here we go this is another one moaning. Save your money and go to a b&b.

Was a lovely hotel central to all amenities.

I had booked a single room- £130 for one night. Hotel room I stayed in was incredibly dated. Black mould in shower/bath, general disrepair through out room. Pillows were wafer thin, head sinking through to mattress despite using 2 pillows. The night porter was very helpful when arriving late and the breakfast was lovely (despite them forgetting the toast that was ordered). Could be a lovely hotel if the rooms were better maintained.

Great location, friendly & helpful staff, convenient & safe parking, nice breakfast with locally sourced ingredients.

Upgraded to a larger room on arrival. Staff could not have been more accommodating. Would recommend.

I enjoyed my stay at Palm Court, however because of age of the building, which gives it its charm and unique character, not having air conditioning made my room extremely hot and humid. The tower fan in the room was ineffective. In winter I can imagine its very cosy, but my stay was during a warm period.

First the bad bits, our room was very confined and hot as hades. Even on a cold day, the room was unbearably hot, and took 2 days with a fan on, and windows open to get it liveable. With the windows open (4th floor) cooking smells from the kitchens permeated the room. These rooms are in desperate need of air con.
The good, public areas are very good, especially the dining and breakfast rooms. Breakfast was epic, with choices I have never seen at any hotel anywhere. E.g. Smoked Haddock and poached egg, crumpets scrambled egg and salmon, boiled eggs with soldiers. Brilliant and with great table, not buffet service. On the basis of breakfast alone I would stay here again, but only if they can sort the room overheating out.

This was our second visit to this hotel but it won’t be our last because it is just lovely! Friendly attentive staff and a wonderful locally sourced breakfast make staying here an excellent experience.

The one thing what let them down was the 10 percent vouchers they give out in check in for the Resturant & Longe food.
The duty manager when checking out and I was paying said you cannot have the 10 percent off food because it’s up to us to hand in to staff when ordering! Like I quoted the staff never got you to sign for food or give you the chance to accept these vouchers. No good blaming the customers and saying it’s too late to take off when I’m paying my bill! They need to train the staff to do there job better and maybe the 10 percent would get taking from their food bill.
Did not like the duty managers attitude and cleverness with me when it’s not my fault!
I did not budge and told her this, train your staff better to take orders & take the vouchers off!

A lovely gem of a hotel, from a different era, but in a really good way. All staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, everything was spotless and looked loved.
If you’re after a modern hotel, with all mod cons, then not here, but for charm, and just gentle loveliness, a great place.
Minor gripes - bottle of water and shower gel / shampoo not replaced when empty. Shower one which was either boiling or ice cold on a millimetre turn.
But genuinely minor & did not, in any way, dampen the stay.
A highlight - breakfast. Local produce, cooked perfectly.

Front rooms can be noisy from the pub across the street on the weekends

We stayed for 3 nights (not for the 3 4 2 offer), we were made welcome on arrival, the house keeping service, breakfast and staff were excellent, and will definitely stay again. Our only negative was, we were disappointed with the Restaurant when we dined there on our first night. It was over priced for what we orded lack of meat on the pork belly and would not recommend it.

We went away last weekend and had a terrible time, so this week we went to the Palm Court because we knew we'd have an excellent stay.
We've been more times than I can count. Lovely place, great staff. I just wish it had sea views.

The bedroom we had was a little tired but plenty of towels tea/coffee etc. The beds are really comfortable but the pillows were flat and almost useless. The communal area's are clean and very comfortable. Great breakfast with great choice and quality produce. We ate in the restaurant and the food was of great quality with great presentation. Well stocked bar with reasonable prices no higher than the local bars. We had a pleasent first time stay and hopefully will be back. Thank you to all the staff

Terrible lady on reception , waited ages to be greeted, too busy on telephone. Was not patient when checking us in seemed preoccupied by phone ,which she held the whole time she was talking to us. Same evening was stuck in lift for over twenty minutes, until they could free us. So scared. Pillars were terrible like bags of sand. To top if off I tripped over a cable on the landing which was plugged into the wall and was lying over the landing . Terrible health and safety. Not one person apart from night porter asked if we were ok after having been stuck in the lift .

We had to complain about the shower which had poor pressure and spoilt our stay. There was an oversize grab rail which impeeded your showering. Bsin taps loose
Reported the same night and also in the morning with the manager. He did come an see the room which was mich appreciated and stated he would be doing something about as soom as possible. We did say we liked this hotel and would like to come back in the near future with the issues resolved. He did give us a refund which was appreciated
Positives was the breakfast was excellent and plenty of staff to help you make your stay welcome

The management team is an absolute disgrace to the hotel, they weren’t even on site for over two hours when we needed to speak with them about the cleanliness of the room. After going down to reception five times over the two hours myself and my partner gave up and packed to leave. Suddenly the manager was in and when we aired our experience he became very aggressive and rude, especially towards my partner. I took him up to the room to show him the state of the room of which he verbally admitted he couldn’t defend. Finally he begrudgingly agreed to refund us the two nights we hadn’t stayed. I’m surprised there is still a hotel to run with how the managers treat customers. Very dissatisfied with our experience and the managers should be ashamed of themselves. I think they need retraining in customer service. The only good thing about the hotel was the friendly staff and brilliant breakfast.

Really enjoyed our stay at palm court hotel. Staff were amazing and friendly, comfortable room with very comfy bed and the light meals were amazing as well as the breakfast. Definately worth every penny and will be coming back soon. Ideally situated for all amenities.

Good location, room small (king size bed though), Bathroom was a bit tatty, sealant missing from around bath, shower had a mind of its own. Seagull noise was a nightmare. Wake up at daybreak and rest an hour after sunset. No disabled parking facilities, hotel car park is located beneath multi story and has a separate entrance (50 metres further down the side road). Pleasant stay.

The Palm court is a lovely, well situated family hotel. The décor is very good with chandeliers in the dining room. The rooms are comfortable and the bathrooms clean and well maintained.
Parking in the Residents Only Car park is a big advantage, especially at busy times.
We will visit again!

Had a lovely 4 day stay. Breakfast fantastic, staff and service very good. Our one criticism the bedroom was too hot. Windows don’t open enough to allow any air. We did have a fan and after complaining another fan was put in our room
6.0
There is no AC in the rooms and it was extremely warm and uncomfortable even when the weather cooled off outside the room did not, the staff was helpful and service was good in the restaurant. I would not stay there again.

Were were on the top floor & located near kitchens because all our clothes smelt of grease & food. For all 3 nights of our stay, the seagulls kept us awake

This hotel looks good and feels good when you stay here. It’s so close to the shopping centre and with free parking, this was a bonus. Staff are so nice and friendly and go that extra mile for you. Stayed for two nights over the weekend. The food, however was delightfully average. We had a meal in the lounge on arrival. Fish and chips and fish cakes. The batter on both oozed fat and was quite unpleasant. Breakfast was also average. Cooked breakfast- sausage was anaemic, mushrooms slightly leathery and bacon fat not sufficiently rendered. Poached eggs were a delight as was the toast.
All in all a very pleasant stay in an hotel with a lovely atmosphere. Food the only let down. Would still return though.
