This was a really disappointing and borderline scam hotel. First after paying in advance and full online I received an email from the property stating that I had to pay a 50% deposit and giving me the name of a bank and telephone number to call. I asked hotels.com to clear it up.
Then when I got there I was told that check out is at 10 am. My flight unfortunately was at 8 pm. Moreover in addition to there being zero flexibility on late checkout they also refused to allow me to keep my luggage at the property. The only solution was for me to pay for another night so that I could keep my luggage there.
Oh, also, the AC didn’t work. The refrigerator was dripping puddles all over the room. And there were other ways in which the service was awful. At the end I was happy to leave early even if it meant sitting in the airport for hours.

Very simple rooms but just what we needed - clean, comfortable beds and powerful shower and the shared lounge and kitchen was a big bonus too. Only 5 minutes walking to the water, goat racing and Sunday school action in Buccoo but far enough away that the soul shattering bass doesn't disturb you at night if you don't feel like partying all the way until sunrise

My stay at Fish Tobago exceeded my needs. This was my first time in Tobago. Unfortunately I came for a funeral, so it wasn’t the typical trip. I picked Fish Tobago due to cost and relative location to family. Based on reading the description and activities nearby, I anticipated that the area would adjacent to or surrounded by the natural environment. Instead the neighborhood was residential. The upside of being residential is that it’s a good base to walk to food and shops. You can also walk for sea/beach attractions, the main Bucco port and the Sunday School party. The ability to go on tours/excursions complimentary for being guest is an terrific value add. I only had time to go on one excursion, but if a guest caught a couple tours, the independent value of the tours significantly offsets the cost of lodging. If you are planning on tours anyway, look to coordinate the availability of Fish Tobago tours and stay in a Fish Tobago property. You can’t beat the combined value. Overall, it was a great value for what I needed and I’m very satisfied with my stay. Thanks to Brandon and the staff

The employees are really nice and responsive at the Fish Tobago Guesthouse. However, it was more out of the way than I expected. I thought that there were more things to do and eat in the general area. It's also rural, so be prepared to be awakened by a rooster! For what it is, it is well kept up, the AC worked wonders, and it was quite spacious.

A very nice place with a good and friendly host Brandon. I can strongly recommend this place as long as your NOT looking for at party village with a lot of bars and restaurants. The beach is nice and the roons are clean. A five Star guesthouse to a budget👍.

Great Location! Safe, comfortable, clean. Great social environment. They will also assist in setting up activities (snorkel, fishing Etc), renting a vehicle, restaurant recommendations. Excellent place to stay!

The people of Fish Tobago are very helpful and friendly. It's not unusual to just hang out in the evenings or even have a barbecue, if that's your thing.
Rooms are nice and clean, getting serviced every other day and definitely good value for money. Can wholeheartedly recommend!

If you are looking for a quiet retreat, out of the way, in the fishing village of Buccoo in Tobago, look no further. The rooms are big and air conditioned, the bed is comfy and the bathroom filled with toiletries and towels.
The terrace is spacey and you can sit and chill in the breeze.
The house is ran by Brandon - the owner - and you can decide if you wish to do additional trips during your stay to the rainforest or fishing.
There is internet in the guesthouse but it's not free (about 100TT USD = $15) and you have to pay an additional charge if you have a laptop (which I did).
There is also a refundable key deposit of $15 which you get back on checkout.

Stayed May 5-8, 2016.
Overall, place is good in terms of cost performance. Great for couples who want to do their own thing, enjoy the quiet beaches, limited nightlife, self cater and cook (there is a kitchen). Buccoo is a quiet fishing village other than Sunday nights when they host special events by the harbour.
Owner (Brandon) can be moody at times. Sometimes, not so professional and could be a hypocrite. Avoiding him is the best. I was advised that checkout was at 10am and of course, I respected that and was getting ready since 9am. I get a knock at 9:40am that the cleaner is coming at 10am (no cleaner ever showed up. I think he was cleaning himself at some point) and I need to get out. Well, it was nice of him to let me know, but the way he returned my deposit and the intention of checking if "I was awake and getting out on time?" was clearly obvious. I left the room exactly at 10am.
I wanted to leave my bag there, since ferry ride at 5pm. Brandon tells me no and points to the no loitering sign. Meanwhile, another guy leaves the bag and goes out for the day. Tries to give me a lesson that guests upon checkout should not be loitering in his property. Hm, is that how you treat your guest that just stayed there? I managed to eat my breakfast and left the compound at 11am. There is hardly anyone staying at the place to begin with.
+did offer free cooked fish the first night. nice of him.
+can suggest things
-charges for wifi (some people paid and some did not)

Despite problems with our booking Brandon was able to accommodate us in better rooms at a very reasonable price. We were made most welcome. The staff were very helpful and a rapport was soon established with them and the other guests.
The garden is home to many birds and they are further encouraged by the fruits put out of a morning.
My wife and I are in our early seventies but accustomed to staying in places off of the tourist track. Do not go to Fish Tobago if you are expecting a traditional, pool side holiday. But for a bargain stay as a base to view the rest of the island then Fish Tobago is ideal. We would certainly consider returning at a future date.

we found our stay at Fish Tobago very pleasant, Brandon makes you feel like family, sharing his catch of the day with his guests by preparing a fish BBQ with the help of his partner for all to share. I would recommend to all.

it is located close to Mt. Irvine beach, about a 15 minute walk.

A stay at Fish Tobago Guesthouse is a treat. It's very close to the airport (only 70TTD taxi fare, if you chose to get there that way). It's also very close to what could well be the best chicken shop in Tobago. Close enough to the beach to just get away and while away some time watching the beautiful Carribean Sea.

If your looking for a place to stay where the owner puts all his energy into ensuring his guests have the best possible time and are on the top of his list then look no further. Brendon is the perfect host and has a passion second to none in making you feel at home.
Breakfast most morning's was melt in the mouth Avocado, picked from the tree across the guesthouse and Pomme Sitere' or Golden Apple's which were equally as delicious.
The guesthouse is nice and clean and serves it's purpose. I booked my own private room , with en-suite etc, rather than the Dorm as I prefer my own privacy. Its close enough to the beach which is almost a 10 minute walk away. Its only a small Island and pidgeon point beach and Mount Irvine, my personal favourite, are both failrly close by. Brendon also takes people out on tour's which is very handy. All in all, I had the most comfortable stay. So. If you want your own little paradise, this is it!
