If there was an option to give more than 10 for excellent services, extremely courteous staff and the value of money - I would have done that.
The facility and services were beyond our expectations. Would definitely recommend all readers to try this place - just 5 stars

This is a nature lovers paradise! We really enjoyed staying in the treehouse and enjoying all the wildlife. We had a few things come up during our stay and the staff was quick to rectify the issues. Breakfast was great and it has a beautiful view of the lagoon.

Our stop at Maquenque was one of our favorites. We didn’t realize we’d have to take a boat across the river (with a bunch of luggage and baby stroller in the rain) to get to the lodging, but staff was quick to help do all the heavy lifting and it was not a biggie. We enjoyed the boat tour and the dining. The included breakfast was great. Unfortunately, the lodges don’t have a/c. The amazing nature we were able to see made up for it!

This is a magical, peaceful place with many species of birds in beautiful grounds. The staff are all so professional, courteous & helpful. Specifically, Sylvia and Vicky in reception & tours were very welcoming and friendly; and Uriel and his team at the restaurant provided superb service in a relaxed atmosphere. We look forward to a return visit.

We came back to Costa Rica just because of our memories of the first time we stayed here and were not disappointed. They'd improved the dining room since last time but the birds were still as great. The last 20k of the approach is now sealed apart from the last 3.

We had two nights here, one in a bungalow and one in a treehouse. Both were fabulous. And the staff at Maquenque were so very caring about ensuring my husband (who is disabled) had a wonderful stay. I can't then them enough. They have made the start of our holiday in Costa Rica so very memorable with their care but also their knowledge of the birds and other wildlife.

Jose and Catalina, our guides, were wonderful. The lodge was a dream and we enjoyed our stay tremendously. The food in the restaurant was excellent.

We stayed there for two nights and we loved it. The staff was so nice and the room was beautiful. The bungalows are all at the waterfront so you can watch a lot of animals just by walking outside.
I absolutly recommend the activities there. We did the walking tour, nightwalk, bird watching an kayak tour. The guides Jose and Katalina told us a lot about the nature and they seemed to know every creature and every plant out there.

Amazing lodge in the rainforest, with a lagoon that’s home to caiman and turtles, and many types of birds including toucans visit the feeders in front of the restaurant. We stayed in a treehouse 60ft up in the rainforest canopy which is highly recommended. The staff are really helpful, and the guided tours of the forest and river are great.

Definitely on the top ten list of places I ever stayed at. Treehouse is fantastic. Birds abundant to see, from your breakfast table. 100% Chance to see the tucan.

a great place to start a Costa Rican trip. The staff was goingfor any extra mile and made the stay very easy and enjoyable. One tour is included in the price - best is to take the morning bird watching tour.Jose, our guide, was incredible and not only spotted birds and reptils from far away, he even could immediately tell what bird it is half a mile away. During the night walk we saw some frogs, some aguiti and the red-eyed dart frog. And both times we could feel that the guides loved there profession. Definitelya place to visit again - a must go!

We choose between Tortuguero and Maquenque, and having been to lodges in Tortuguero before we choose the latter. Very satisfied, thought it was a completely different experience from the very touristy Tortuguero. The drive up is an adventure itself, bumping through a lovely rural part of the country that don't see much tourism. Excellent tours and guides on offer and all the personell at the lodge put an emphasis on making sure everyone has a good time. Food is top class and lodges very comfortable. From the porch of your cabin you have a lovely view of the lagoon with a lot of wildlife around. We stayed 3 nights and loved it. Definitely recommended.
