3 star hotel, period. The amenities, service, and food respectively to comment on. Amenities adequate for the resort, tennis, mini golf (~20 minutes run), gym with dumbells and some resistance cables, treadmill and row machine, large sized chess board, and access to 3 seprate pools, adults, family, and VIP/premium. Buffets/restaurants: the restaurants are what the resort has done well. By reservation only. Food was great and portion size was excellent. Allergen listed provided in advance if needed. Buffets could definitely use inprovement- relatively few options, limited fruit options- watermelon and pineapple, bananas, apples, and dragon fruit. Servers for proteins give small portions but can request more. Drinks- little alcohol provided in mixed drinks (I did not personally consume), and rest were juice (sugar water with natural flavors). Check-in was smooth. The rooms, as mentioned in other reviews, adequate. Air conditioning, at least. Bathroom shower pressure is great, and minimal pooling. There is warm water. Soap provided.
Personal: Marco 5/5 customer service. If ya need something, find him and ask. He will do his best to direct you or assist himself.
As resorts go- would give 3 out 5 stars however ** 1/5** due to unforseen event happening at our last night. Jewelery went missing the evening before and it required escalation to management and security. TBD the outcome. * DO NOT waste your time coming here if US cititizen.

This is an average resort. We booked several rooms as we were celebrating my grandma‘s 90th birthday be aware there is a difference in room types and sadly some of us ended up in the premium area not realizing this while booking. The staff is not very friendly or helpful and although I am a platinum member for Expedia, I did not receive any perks, the food is average and you must book a reservation for the restaurants. We were only able to secure one night as the staff stated that they were all booked. The beach in the resort was very dirty and no one was swimming in it. The hotel is outdated and needs Some restoration. Overall, I would never come back to this resort as I am sure there are better options.

Old facility. There’s a beach, but it’s definitely no resort and it’s uninviting. Never went. We just hung out at the pool, which was actually nice.
As an all-inclusive resort, know that there is no bottled water, which is a disappointment.
Definitely a C “All-inclusive” venue (hard to say it’s a “resort”).

It is obvious they are making repairs to the facility. Unfortunately the pictures are older, so it looks like, but several years older. The service is amazing though! Everyone was friendly and supportive, hands down. The food is okay. The pools and bars are really nice. Not much beach area, mainly to look at, not to get in. All in all, not terrible, but definitely needing some upgrading!

DON'T BE DECEIVED, THIS IS THE WORST ALL INCLUSIVE IN COSTA RICA. I stayed here first in 1992, and it was lovely. In 2018 as well, and was told then they were going to upgrade everything. Well THEY LIED !!It's unfortunate I only have 1500 characters to describe everything that is horrible about the place, so I will break it down very simply. Rooms are moldy, dirty abused and not secure. Safes, irons and hairdryers don't work. Mattress and pillows old worn ad springs pop. Grounds have uneven and dangerous walkways. Beach is a hazard filled with garbage and UNSWIMABLE. The sunset pier has been closed due to structural failure. The 3 restaurants require reservations but you cant make them days in advance and they only allow about 20 people per day in each. They have no mosquito abatement of control. The pool is nice but by 2pm turns into a cloudy mess with drink glasses on the bottom and all sorts of debris. The bar serves the cheapest high grain alcohol with fruity mixes, and the guest get hammered all day. the buffet has a lot of Typical CR food but, not the best quality or flavor, and the egg stations either drown your omelets in oil or burn them. Pool towels look years old. They also segregate the large tour groups to the newer buildings on the north side. OVER ALL I WASTED MY TIME, ENERGY AND MONEY HERE.

We enjoyed the delicious food options. The customer service and hospitality we received at the bar and restaurant were lovely and refreshing.
The resort isn't tourist-friendly. there is a huge local crowd and preference for this resort. I would not recommend it to tourists and people who do not know the language. The shows were limited to only Spanish-speaking, and the live music was also catered to the locals. There wasn't much to do at the resort. They had water aerobics in the morning and cames for the children, but not much of an exciting vibe or presence like other resorts.

Hotel was ok theirs pros and cons.
Pros: Property is clean everyone was nice and friendly. Food is AMAZING I was able to do the restaurants and buffet and they were all delicious and amazing. Drinks were ok as well had a big variety of drinks and were great.
Cons: Rooms need a major update they smelled a bit moldy and were not cleaned well. Glass shower looked like it wasn't cleaned for months, sink had a brown stain in it, walls were cracked and peeling. I had no wifi in my room only out on property seems to be in and out and not very strong and consistent. Day and night time entertainment is extremely lacking.Hotel seems to host many locals as guests. Plus hotel is extremely far from excursions and activities.

The staff were all wonderful and the facilities were kept clean. The hotel itself was old and could benefit from renovation. We were surprised that it was a black sand beach as we felt like that was not made clear in the photos of the location.
The biggest issue that I had with the hotel was the excessive presence of Mosquitoes. There were everywhere except for the guest rooms, and if you leave your door open for too long the mosquitoes infiltrate the rooms too. The food was delicious but considering that all of the restaurants except one were outside, if you didn’t douse yourself if bug repellent then you would probably have a hard time enjoying your meal. The location for the Hotel is great since the excursions were a decent commute and it was easy to find and book ways ti explore Costa Rica.
Overall I would say that we made the best of the situation and enjoyed our vacation.

Save your time and stay elsewhere. This place is dirty, terrible food and staff is not accommodating. One of our rooms the ac broke and they “fixed” it and the room temperature was 80F after they fixed it. Finally moved rooms the next day. The area is unsafe and trash and needles all over the beach.

AC works great, premium vodka in VIP pool bar, customer service is not great but I enjoyed all inclusive although the beach is not nice.
My check in took over 1.5 hours due to missing a night on my reservation, adding a 3rd night might have caused the mix up. I highly recommend using what’s app to text concierge, they are very responsive and it’s extremely convenient. Be sure to reserve dinner in advance as it requires a reservation.

Staff acted like tips were included in the price. Food was average at best, drinks were weak. Had to drive through a smelly factory town to arrive. Area looked sketchy (no surprise it’s all inclusive). Beach was dirty and had bugs/fleas. The rooms are outdated, pools are overcrowded and the “entertainment” is subpar to a cruise ship. If you can avoid Puntarenas all together, do it!
