Fantastic hotel, lovely staff - very friendly and helpful, especially the lady on reception.
Beautiful room, and a great nights sleep
I will definitely come back again

The service at breakfast was very poor. Waited 75mins before order came
When this was reported to the general manager her response was indifferent at best and never mind she would pass the message to the kitchen but it was sunny in Saltburn !! Never once apologized. This marred an otherwise pleasant stop over.

Another fabulous visit to The Spa. Unfortunately only two nights this year! All the building work has been completed and it’s a wow. Yet again the greatest asset of this hotel is its staff. These are the friendliest group of people who will literally do anything to make sure your visit is splendid. Not everything can be perfect but be sure that The Spa will work hard to reach the top.

Friendly, welcoming check in. Nice big rooms. Very dog friendly. Breakfast was outstanding! So hospitable....explained to the manager that we found our beds uncomfortable, the manager organised new mattresses with no question and a smile. We did find the room to be a bit stuffy as the only ventilation was possible of we kept the french door on the latch, which was perfect during the day but perhaps a little unsafe at night. We used the air conditioninh unit to circulate air in the room which was fine but noisy. On the whole, this wasn't a major issue, we worked around it. The location of The Spa Hotel is unreal - walking distance to just about everywhere worth visiting in Saltburn. We can't wait to come back, it will be the only place we stay. The staff, from housekeeping to management are all an asset to the place. Thanks for having us.

A great hotel in a great location with excellent staff that know how to mix friendliness with professionalism. The rooms were spotless so well done to the Housekeeping team. The restaurant is well worth a visit with spectacular views and excellent food. I'll definitely be back soon.

I booked through Expedia having been hijacked on Google Search when looking for the Spa Hotel, Saltburn. Expedia is poor at sending email confirmation. I recommend booking direct.

A beautiful gem! Thoroughly relaxed and enjoyed our stay. It’s a beautiful hotel, in a lovely location. Food was delicious and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The hotel room was so pretty, tall ceilings, beautiful decor and soft furnishings. Large lovely bathroom. Good hearing and also good air con. I’ll definitely return and recommend.

Situated in an ideal area and we were impressed with the hotel in the main. Our only two issues were the bathroom wallpaper looked a bit scruffy and the food wasn’t brilliant. The outside seating area and views were great and the parking was easy.

Builders still finishing the hotel!

I had concerns when I arrived to find the workmen were still finishing off the hotel entrance, and experienced a dilemma on finding nowhere safe to park.
There then followed an uncomfortable check in where my reservation was not what I felt I had originally booked through a third party. The room was large, clean and adequate, though not up to the standard of the newly renovated bar and restaurant.
Here endeth my grippes, for the receptionist quickly addressed my booking to my satisfaction and showed me to my room.
Drinks in the bar that evening were all served in the correct glasses, what a joy! Bottles of wine were reasonably priced and the choice on all alcohol fronts was more than adequate.
Our evening meal was plentiful, and accompanied by the most amazing sea view.
Breakfast the next morning was again served with a sea view, and a choice to satisfy any pallet. I had kippers which were lovely.
But, the highlight of my stay was the service I received from one particular waitress who I believe to be called Tracy. She found me a table outside, chairs to listen to the music, and an enhancement for my bubbles. Over the two days she went above and beyond again and again. Good service can not be bought, it comes from the heart, and Tracy has a big, kind heart.

Unfortunately I didn’t note everybody’s names to say thank you but Natalie, Tracey and the whole team were very welcoming and made sure we were looked after.
My children loved the hotel and the surrounding area.

The hotel is in the midst of renovations. It should be beautiful once completed.
We would return.

Shabby, needs upgrade. Bed uncomfortable.
40 min wait for food after ordering
No window in breakfast room
Should have reduced prices during renovations

Perfectly placed for the national road champs in which I raced, rooms very pleasant, a good selection of amenities and the breakfast was very good, although check when booking as although lists breakfast as available, this is not included in the price!

Steven the manager went sbove and beyond to correct our booking and accomodate my elderly disabled parents. I cant thank you all enough. We had a lovley time, and loved watching dawn break and the sun rise over the sea, surrounded by the dawn chorus. Breakfast was amazing, Thanks again.

Staff were really attentive and polite Building work ongoing but didn’t spoil our time The room was comfy, bright and clean. Only thing to make it better will be when the snagging is done in the rooms.

When I booked I was attracted by the photo. When we arrived the part of the building shown in the photo had been demolished and was a building site. There was no disabled parking.
Entrance to the hotel was by an emergency exit at the back of the building.
The room had recently been decorated but the bathroom was tiny to the extent there was not even space for a towel rail. Towels were on the bed. The bed mattress was lumpy, creaky and in need of replacement. We did not sleep well.
The dining and bar were obviously a temporary placement due to the building work and the dining closed at 19.30.
This hotel was expensive, no price concession was made for the building work and it was not worth the money. Avoid at least until the building work is complete. And even then the publicity shots need to be changed.

Very upset that we were not made aware of any building works and didn’t feel we were in a hotel,no windows in breakfast room and the bar and loung were in the same room. The carpets were grubby in the hallway and all in all it was very expensive £410 for 2 nights and an extra £10 each for breakfast per day.We will not be staying at this hotel again

The hotel is currently undergoing renovations, hopefully that will extend to the rooms once complete. Rooms are just acceptable. I was charged an additional £25 to the stated cost because I added a guest to my room. No good reason given. I assumed it was a room rate. Overcharged for breakfast, when they finally got around to asking what we wanted. And tried to charge me again for breakfast on checkout.
Lots to improve and hopefully they will resolve these minor issues.

I booked this for my parents who were visiting me as I live in Saltburn. I normally eat and drink in the Spa alot and have always had a good experience so it pains me to write this but the room cost me alot of money and they had alot of issues and left early to go home to bed. Firstly the hotel has been undergoing major renovations for some time which they are very open about but it does give the place a building site feel which isnt welcoming. Their room was very cold to the extent they went to reception to ask for the heating to be turned on. After being told it was turned off for the whole building and sitting in their coats on the bed for an hour they came back up to my house saying they couldnt stand it. It didnt help that the room was only single glazed. The next room also had a couple with a dog that was left in the room on its own for 5hrs which continued to bark. When the guests in the room the other side had a shower it made a massive racket which woke them up and they said sounded like loads of pipes shaking. Other little things they mentioned was that you couldnt lie down in the bath as the basin unit sticks out over it and when you turn the tap on water rushes out onto the floor. They left early the next day and instead of sticking around the next day returned home early to get some sleep. Im sad to say I wont recommend visitors stay here again.

We loved our stay and plan to go back in September. The reason for the lower marks were simply because of a refurb going on and we were in a bar/restaurant with no windows so no atmosphere etc. The staff couldnt have been nicer and the treatments were wonderful . Sue is an amazing therapist, thank you. Maybe at this time a discounted price could be offered 🤔 we paid 139.00 and were upgraded so we did have a nice room. I would stay here again. Breakfast is top notch. 😋

I stay in hotels on a regular basis but have rarely come across such poor value for money.I have stayed in many hotels with far higher standards for half the price. The location is good that is the only positive I can come up with.

Front of premises is being refurbished so its a bit of a shock when you pull in car park.
Only moan was that WiFi in room was garbage

Room was cold on arrival, large windows single glazed. Eventually found how to use heater above door, the next day. Toilet roll holder not fixed properly and roll kept falling off. No towel rail in bathroom. Arrived 5.15pm, kettle, tea, coffee facility not well lit. Had to move a bedside lamp to help see. No long mirror in room. Breakfast excellent, with very large portions. Had to book out by 11am and train not till 5pm so we were able to leave luggage in reception. Sunday, the restaurant was very busy with Sunday lunches, with very few seats available for coffee or reading the paper due to no separate lounge, because of major alterations going on.

There was a welcoming atmosphere even in the middle of renovation work. Looking forward to visiting again when that has been completed.

The Hotel was doing renovations and they phoned me to ensure I knew and was OK with that. They did not want me to arrive and be disappointed.
The staff were very friendly, typical northern hospitality.
Room was comfortable, food was good bed was soft ( a bit to soft for my back). They will be seeing me again in the future.
