Front desk staff was helpful with checkin and sharing local tips. Property was clean. Apartment was perfect for sleeping after a day at the beach or sightseeing. Just a five minute walk to the beach.

Lovely resort near the beach. Staff are helpful although there were some issues with the beach towels (they were either out or hadn’t arrived yet).

Lovely stay. Simple but adequate villa, a bit dark on porch and inside. Pool areas are lovely and even at height of season the resort was quiet and peaceful.

We were in the smallest room type for two at the back of the property. While it had the amenities as described, the room is very small even for two. The living room wall is louvered, so no A/C and easy for bugs to enter. We bought a citronella candle to help with this, but that was like blowing into the wind. The A/C is only in the bedroom, which is windowless. The beds are not comfortable as they easily split apart and the single mattresses slips easily off the frame. The bathroom sink was plugged and needed attention and the towels were very small. The pools were nice however work began on one with only a days notice. This forced all guests to the family pool if they didn’t want to listen to jackhammering. The staff are polite but I wouldn’t recommend this property as I clearly didn’t anticipate that eco resort would feel more like econo resort.

This was our dream vacation. Curaçao is a Caribbean island paradise with white sandy beaches, turquoise waters, and plenty of corals, tropical fish and sea turtles. Morena is located in the southern part of Curaçao near Jan Thiel Bay. It's premise is that of an eco resort, minimizing waste, built on simple architecture, simple materials and solid construction, luxurious without being excessive, all in all tasteful.
the good:
-we rented a 3-bedroom individual cabin, with comfortable beds in the sleeping rooms, a complete kitchen, and a spacious terrace for our meals
-resort organization was top notch with friendly, attentive and diligent staff who attended to our (many) requests, great check-in/out experience
-breakfast and restaurant had all essentials with great food preparation and quality, even accomodating to our dietary restrictions
-gorgeous pool areas and the pool water is kept crystal and clean
-rent a car at competitive rates and drive all around Curaçao (a must to visit the great beaches!)
the bad:
-Mosquito issue (which may be seasonal). We arrived at night and because the cabin lights were on, there were a ton of mosquitos inside. Thus mosquito bed nets and repellent are a must. You learn to always close the bedroom doors
-Cabin design is such that the living room cannot be used at night because there isn't a simple mesh to block insects from following the light inside at night
the ugly:
-really nothing to complain about, this a resort that we do recommend!

The resort is good. The houses are clean and so are the utensils. The bathroom is not big, a little bit old, but not dirty. It has an eco friendly shower which I did not like. You have to press the button after 10 sec or so. Showering with an infant makes it very annoying. The toilet had a smell, but they fixed it.
The wifi is weak. There was no wifi in the bedroom.
The mattresses are not tied together so it dislocates.
Food from the restaurant is terrible.
The doors are from glass so you don't have any privacy and the balconies are side by side so you can hear your neighbors.
Other than that, we liked the resort. Very friendly staff. They allowed us to check in early, because we landed early and were traveling with a baby. The hostess let us stay in the cottage while waiting for the house to be ready. They have free yoga classes. They offered to make us a reservation at a restaurant. They have a big parking lot. The swimming pool has an area for kids.
The beach is on walking distance and also a supermarket.
This resort will see me again.

Very friendly staff at front desk. Very pleasant and happy. Always there to help. The pool and grounds were very well maintained. The rooms were great, and the in-room kitchen was too. Very easy walk to beach.

Apartment was not ‘surprisingly cool’ as stated on website. No air conditioning in living area/kitchen making that area quite warm and uncomfortable particularly when doors are closed at night, of which only half is doors, the rest is shutters allowing bugs and humidity in. Toilet room had a slight sewage odour to it, with an inefficient fan, and hence no air circulation. I don’t mind housekeeping every 3 days, but how about some decent size shower towels. And no soap provided in the toilet room to wash hands? Seems like another opportunity to be eco-friendly. No mention on website of accessibility issues, like steps within the restaurant. Stayed one night and left without any refunds.

Our family loved the pools and grounds. However our villa had ants in the bathrooms. Spiders. Lizards in the kitchen living under the microwave. And many mosquitos which we did prepare for. We loved our terrace and comfy beds overall a great stay but be prepared to share your spaces

I really wanted to like this place, and it could be so good if they would change a few things. I will say, the front desk girls were so wonderful and nice. I will also say we read so many reviews of different places to stay, and it just doesn’t seem like anywhere in Curaçao is super nice and clean.
First, the air conditioning. It was fine that the air conditioner is only in the bedroom, but the kitchen is NOT closed off, which makes absolutely no sense. The wall with the window shades is open to the outside. So, instead of having it closed off and not allowing the humidity and bugs to come in, it is open to the outside. You have to keep the bedroom door shut at all times unless you want the humidity and bugs coming in. The mosquitos will get you either way, but didn’t appreciate getting bit in a kitchen that should have been closed off.
We also had tiny tiny bugs ALL OVER the kitchen counter. We made the mistake of putting groceries on the counter and the bugs got inside all of it, so we had to throw away everything.
The “king bed” is absolutely not a king bed. It’s two twins pushed together, and you don’t even have a topper that connects them. So phones will fall into the crack and you’ll have separate bedding for each twin bed.
There is no hand soap provided for the bathrooms, also odd? Your towels provided for showering are more like two hand towels sewn together.
And the shower, you have a button, and water runs for 20 seconds at a time. Not great

What I loved most was the service and the friendly staff/ my flight was really delayed ( 22 hours) and when I arrived there was a wonderful handwritten card in our room from the staff. Also , they let us check out at 3 pm when we left because of it. So grateful. The property is beautiful and conveniently located. I was also able to rent a car right at the hotel,Pools are beautiful, food fabulous, beach a short walk away.Yet I don’t think I’ll stay here again mostly because our apartment even though it was comfortable was very dark and the bedroom had no ventilation. A weird design flaw , especially on Curacao where you can build with the wind in mind. The reason I can’t come back though was that on the porch all my neighbors smoked and there was no way to escape their smoking or talking... why you allow smoking in an Eco resort is beyond me. So if you don’t mind people smoking and you don’t mind a dark but beautiful apartment, ( the ground floor for sure) this is a good choice.

Resort lookes nice, the pool’s are great! We did not try the restaurants but we heard they were fine.We stayed at an (2br) appartement, which was super dark, moist and equipped with not even the bare minimum (only four knives for four persons). The appartements are really close to each other, we were in the smoke of our neighbors the whole week. Ally next to our appartement smelled like urine, which was bothering us even on our terrace, nothing was done after reporting it. Every 3 days you get cleaning but the towel are dirty and they don’t refill anything. Staff races around in golf carts in front of your house the whole day. Front office isn’t helpful with the complaints. Car park is full if you arrive late. Our advice is to look elsewhere (the 3 resorts closer to the beach)

The facilities are quite nice it is surrounded by nature so get ready to have a lot of birds visiting your terrace. If you are looking for partying this is not a place to stay it is full of family and it quite close to the ocean and you get free passes to access the ocean. I stayed in one of the bungalows and it has a large terrace space outside. The downside is that my room had a terrible smell but besides that it was a pleasant stay.

I have stayed here numerous times. It is truly an oasis in the sense that it is peaceful and that you are surrounded by nature. The sound and sight of beautiful birds were exceptional. The villas are well surrounded by lush tropical plants, so they feel very private. I love this place❤️

Good location, only a short walk to Jan Thiel beach and the excellent supermarket. Very much recommend the Regal chalets, well equipped and comfortable.

our stay was general very good. The rooms were clean and had very comfortable outside seating shaded areas. The only negative was that hot water was only available in the shower. The bathroom and kitchen sink only had cold water. A bit of a challenge for shaving and hand dish washing

Close to a beach, on bus route to main town with connection to airport ,supermarket close by, long haul to west end beaches, no hot tub.

Everything was wonderful! Nice quiet resort for families! Thank you!

Great place to stay with a family. Nice pools, 5 min walk to Jan Thiel beach. Holiday homes are spacious and well equipped. Great view. Only disadvantages were that we had a home relatively close to a busy road; and that the road to Willemstad was crowded and typically took more time than expected. But overall, a positive recommendation.

We booked a normal villa but without notifying we were placed in a room equipped for persons with a handicap. This was confronting. The staff offered various possibilities to overcome this problem. Overall a vety pkeasant hotel

A Great eco-resort with beautiful Pools, a Nice spa, excellent service. We had a wonderful time. The only disappointment was the rental car - the rate as advertised, only applies to the Kia picanto. But they arranged a car from another rental company for a good rate. We stayed in a villa and had plenty of space. Especially the veranda was superb. We Will be back!

It might not be beachfront, but they make up for it with immaculately kept gardens that allow the villas to have a lot of privacy. The outdoor living decks have plenty of shade and are perfect for relaxing with a drink in hand. The kitchens are well equipped, and the grocery store is a short walk down the hill from the property.

One of the newest resorts in the area. Unfortunatly our (rather small) appartment was next to their building site. They are expanding the resort and are almost done with the heavy contruction, but still we would wake up from the builders walking/talking/driving by. The view from the deck was also this building site and the builders walking/talking/driving by. Not the nicest vacation spot.
We tried to get a different appartment, but since they were full for most of the time this was not possible quick enough. After a 2 day wait we just left it as is, but still would expect Hotels.com to give notice on the website when booking or the resort to give lot better service after we complained.

Not my kind of Hotel. Useless staff. Rooms cleaned only every three days under the pretence of being eco friendly.
No Soap, Shampoo etc. Clean towels only every three days
OK so its self catering but it has no oven or grill
Mosquitos able to enter rooms via non sealing louvred panels instead of external walls. We both were bitten to pieces
Unimpressed

A little disappointing. The staff are very friendly and the pool area is quite nice. But the villa is not well equipped (the eco resort qualification should not be the excuse to save on hand soup or kitchen basics like microwave, toaster and kettel). beds and rooms are very small and - worst of all if traveling with babies - there are neither fans nor mosquito nets in the windows. Kitchen was full of ants, keeping or cooking baby food was a nightmare.

Totally enjoyed our 2 week stay at the Morena. Very clean, great location and in a beautiful setting. Staff extremely helpful and friendly !! Apartment was not huge but sufficient for the two of us, had 2 bedrooms and a large deck area with table, couches and chairs. We were also pleased to have a rack on the deck for drying towels, etc. Within walking distance to beach, restaurants and supermarket. First week we were without a car, second with. Local bus stops right in front of hotel as well as a van that will take you shopping to a larger supermarket. Bus rides were very minimal (couple Canadian dollars) and van ride to market free. Parking for our rental was free as well. We had the option of making our own meals or to eat out. Did both. The food at the Resort’s Fuego Restaurant/bar was great (all you can eat Wok night was superb) and the staff, especially Mironda and Indira, terrific. Also definitely family friendly. When we used the pool facilities, appreciated the fact that it was never crowded or that we needed to “save” a spot ahead of time. It’s not a “fancy” resort but more quaint, which we find much more appealing. Definitely great value and would highly recommend staying here.

I wasn't sure what to expect about Moreno, especially after being told that it was eco-themed. However, my concerns were put to rest. The layout of the villa was great! Even though the common area wasn't air conditioned, the patio and hammock more than made up for it. We spent most of our time on the patio enjoying the scenery from the chairs and hammock. In addition, we were able to walk down the street to the supermarket, restaurants, or beach.
