The pictures doesn’t show what it actually is. It’s right on top of the locals working and poverty. When we arrived the Whole hotel lights were off. Great location for an immersion of culture Great location literally Right next-door to Cape Coast Castle

Comfortable for one night, but my room was pretty basic and the AC was a bit weak. Breakfast is basic but welcomed and free. Amazing location right across from the slave castle, and right on the waterfront / fishing boat harbour. The smell of the water is stinky, but what can you do? Cheap beer and refreshments. They should probably renovate the rooms to make them a bit more plush (I killed some tiny cockroaches) but apart from the rooms it’s a pretty good place

We stayed there two nights. First night the aircondition was not working, and they where unable to find us a room with one working. Next night we stayed in a much smaller (and cheaper listed ) room with an Air-conditioning that barely was working (27°c probably). On checkout we asked to get back the difference in price for the last nights room, but got a no as an answer. Not acceptable.

You have to be in Ghana to appreciate that although the hotel was a bit decrepit, service slow and spotty, food mediocre, still the warmth of people and the wonderful grounds made for a good overall stay. GOOD points: 1) Grounds are very green, peaceful and clean 2) Staff is very polite and pleasant 3) Beach is wonderful, even if you cannot get into the water (too dangerous) 4) Swimming pool was clean and well servicedBAD points (for USD$175 per room): 1) we had to try 4 rooms before getting two where the AC worked 2) some rooms had towels, others not; some rooms had water and amenities, others not; some rooms had windows that closed, others not 3) Food service was very slow - but that is often the case in Ghana 4) Food was mediocre, breakfast buffet was OK, but far from international standards 5) Entertainment music at night was atrocious, except for a special show put on for American visitors (Year of Return) 6) Lighting in the eating area is depressing (mostly neon white, and insufficient in other places) Why not put some candles on the tables? Inexpensive and atmospheric 7) No lounge chairs or any sort of chair to be taken to the beach 8) Rooms are very old, tired; no beds for couples (we got two singles stuck together with two solid wood pieces separating us); windows and doors were not very good, so lots of energy loss; no phones 9) When asked at check out, we politely told the receptionist about problems, she nodded pleasantly, but took no notes...

Budget hotel. Very noisy location. Very basic. Loved the cook. She was amazing and should be a manager. She was the only redeeming part of our stay. No elevator. No hot water.
