A wonderful space to spend time at and use as a base to explore Norfolk Island. As a couple it was ample space. It would also work really well for a family.

Mokutu was a great place to unwind and chill - to enjoy the Island time. The property buildings and grounds do need a little TLC, but was clean, quiet and had all that was necessary for our stay. Shari was lovely, welcoming and happy to help with anything anyone needed.

Everything we needed was at the property

Just outstanding!!! Met at the airport by the lovely host and given a quick tour. The accommodation and atmosphere was relaxing and everything you needed was available. Cannot wait to come back and stay here again

No house keeping but there is staff on site to provide what we needed. Downside was that there were croak-roaches crawling around as we spotted lots of croak-roache poo in the kitchen and brought some home back in Sydney with us. There was also no water running through the taps a couple of times in a day but was fixed immediately when call was made. However staff were friendly and helpful which made up for the downsides. And we were delighted that a car was included with the accommodation.

My husband and I are very thankful for the excellence service we received from Cherie, Troy and other staff members. The welcoming at the airport with our car ready was marvellous. Our chalet was in very good condition, clean and with everything we needed to spend an amazing holiday, and we fully appreciate the special treatment in the fridge 😉 and the coffee beans for a delicious coffee every morning. It was easy to contact them when we needed something, keeping at the same time our privacy. Everything in Norfolk was magical: the people around (tourists and locals), it’s history, culture and customs (I was the copilot weaving everybody around), the tours, the shops, the restaurants and cafes, the radio station staff that generously played a song for us and sent us very friendly messages, the beach, the mountain, the farms, the breathtaking views…definitely a holiday we will never forget! The only bad thing was that our holiday ended 😊. We are already planning our next trip!

Not in one of the A-frames, but one of the little 2 bedroom apartments, which had everything we needed for our 9 night stay. It was very clean, the bathroom modern, good basic kitchen and beds comfortable. The neighbours above us were a little noisy the last few nights, otherwise the area was nice and quiet.
We chose a deal that included a car, so there was no fuss from the time we were met at the airport and got in our car, to when we left it at the airport when leaving. There was a phone in the room, but getting a tourist sim (very easy) early is highly recommended. We would often be out all day and miss messages when things were cancelled. Had trouble with the internet, but unsurprising being in the middle of nowhere, but 4G worked well with the local sim.
The staff were friendly, approachable and easily contactable by phone if not at the property.

Loved the quiet place. It felt like home from home. Bed comfy.
Bathrooms could do with upgrade.

The property owners were great and accommodating, allowing us to change room type on arrival. Despite there only being the 2 of us, the A frame Chalets gave a sense of separation from the other holiday makers at the property. The coffee machine was also great.

The sunset viewwas beautiful. Struggled with the coffee machine. Probably simpler all round to just provide a plunger?

The accommodation was very comfy and well sized for a 6 day stay.

Property was in reasonable condition with some rooms undergoing repair/restoration which should make for an even better experience in the future

From the upstairs apartments we had a great view of the varied vegetation and distant ocean views. The apartment was very comfortable, especially the bed. Troy was always helpful and friendly.
It was disappointing that the pool and barbecue area was closed for repairs.

Very quiet and peaceful location. You need a car to travel to Burnt Pine but we had a vehicle provided with our accommodation. The A-Frame cabins are older but very comfortable. Laundry facilities at the chalets and a kitchen. The pool was empty when we visited in November 2021 but prefaced ocean swims anyway. WiFi was limited but that problem is widespread on Norfolk Island. Hosts were lovely and friendly people.

Cozy self contained chalets which made a good base for exploring the island and relaxing at the same time. Located 7 min out of 'town'. Management was very welcoming and helpful. The included hire car was convenient as they met us at the airport.

Unfortunately the property did not provide a heater for our use despite our numerous request for one. Their reason was that they were concerned for fire (there are no smoke or fire alarms fitted). After enduring two nights without heat we booked the remaining 5 nights at another property (Pine Valley) which was superior and cost us $100 per night. We are applying for a refund for 5 nights from Mokutu through your organisation.

Norfolk Island is a place not to miss it has amazing beaches and interesting places to see . At A Frame Chalets we were able to unwind with amazing staff and great accomodation which even came with a complimentary car to get around the island and a half day discovery tour . Norfolk is a great place to take kids the beaches were pristine and peaceful . Would definitely take my family back again

Troy, the manager, couldn't have been more helpful! Great peaceful location and, despite being far away from everything by Norfolk standards, is only 20 minutes to Captain Cook Lookout, and less than 10 minutes from the ruins at Kingston and Burnt Pine town centre.
They are still in the process of renovating, so you'll find some of the chalets are a work in progress. Internet access on Norfolk Island is an expensive commodity, so make sure your devices don't have unnecessary programs running.
Overall can't recommend this place enough!

Room was tired and amenities were poor. So-called ocean views didn't exist. Manager was excellent, seemed aware of shortcomings and was very helpful.

The apartment was one of two on top of another two with a shared verandah which made privacy an issue as people walked past you to get to their apartment and you walked past theirs to get to the pool/garden area. The apartments were quite old and tired and the shower was feeble. We could only get one channel in the tv and internet was extremely limited/intermittent.The manager was very friendly and helpful. The cafe was closed for business which meant no breakfast and made the place feel more run down. The pool area needs a facelift and the pool was dark so not sure how clean it was. The hairdryer was one of those meant to be fixed to the wall but wasnt, meaning it was impossible to use. I had to ask for a normal hairdryer which was provided very quickly. The manager, Kelly, did her best to rectify things but she has only been there 2 months and is not on top of all the booking arrangements with Hotels.com etc which led to some confusion about whether breakfast was provided or not. All in all, we would not return. The location is also not near the shops or the beach.

We spent a week here for x-mas 2014. Nice quiet location but still close enough to town by car. Staff were very accommodating and made sure we were comfortable in our chalet. Can not fault this place at all as it had everything we required.

We had a low key relaxing time on Norfolk. Mokutu is a few minutes from town, and close to Kingston. It have us a warm and secure base from which to explore an interesting and beautiful island. Pity the informal and quirky restaurant was closed, but it looks great, and we look forward to staying there next time.
