The hotel was clean and comfortable, right on main Street. Would definitely stay there again. Staff was very friendly and helpful

This was great experience staying in Murray Hotel.

I can't imagine a better value (considering how high rooms can be on the island) for staying overnight on Mackinac Island. Getting bags through the ferry process could not have been better (we used Schepler) and the staff at the hotel were excellent to interact with. Loved the room, the location and the general ambiance and decor of the hotel. The pool deck was an unexpected surprise. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Our stay at The Murray Hotel was sub par but when you consider the comparative cost to other hotels on the island and the understood commitment to keeping historical aspects intact, it was probably as good as it gets. The service for our luggage was impressive! We never had to carry it at all from ferry to our room. The room was bigger than anticipated from photos and reviews and the bedding had been updated which we were grateful for. The best part of our stay was the courtyard on the roof with a large hot tub. Tables with umbrellas were plentiful and you can bring your own food and drink and sit outside fairly secluded. At night, however, between the barely working, loud air conditioner and the loud people either in nearby rooms or outside, we hardly slept. Both nights, there was loud talking and laughing until 2am that I could hear over a white noise machine. I’m not sure what could be done but I would book an inside room if possible! The best doughnuts in the world are free in the mornings as well as coffee and tea. There is a Chipotle style Mexican counter in the hotel that serves breakfast and lunch as well as a fudge shop. Overall, it was a pretty good stay and I understand thin walls are part of the old buildings and bars next door will have noisy patrons. For the price, it was worth it. I would just bring earplugs.

Staff was extremely helpful and kind. Room was amazing and spotless.

The price was excellent, and the location excellent as well. It was not clean though. there were dead bugs and webs all over the bottom of one window. But the beds were god, and as I said, the price was good for Mackinac Island.

Very good location on main street. Clean and well kept. Room was tiny, couldn't watch TV from the one chair, had to watch from the bed. TV was very poor and kept loosing signal. Bed very comfortable but too high for my short wife. Our view was nice out the street facing windows. Location close to the ferry dock is convenient.Didn't think it was a good value for the enormous price. Staff very nice and very helpful.

Well cared for hotel with amazingly friendly staff. Room was immaculate and beds were super comfortable. Right across from the ferry dock, so we didn't have to cart our luggage around.

The room worked for what we needed however the over bearing smell of Mexican food ruined our visit. We woke up daily to the smell of food in our room which then transferred yo all of our clothing and outerwear. We smelled like onion and taco seasoning everywhere we went. Had we known there was a Burrito restaurant ,cooking all day everyday, in the lobby without proper ventilation we would have booked elsewhere. Image walking into a restaurant or shop smelling like pungent spices and onions. We had to leave our luggage in our garage to air out. It was extremely frustrating ro deal with! I attempted to speak with someone about our concerns, yet each time we attempted there wasn’t anyone available. For the price we paid, the experience was ridiculous. This was our first stay at the Murray Hotel and it will definitely be our last. FYI, we are avid travelers and very laid back. However the stigma we experienced impacted our trip and limited the number of places we felt comfortable visiting. We did not want to be those people that smelled terrible in the enclosed places. If you cannot handle smelling like cooked taco/burrito meat with onions, avoid the Murray at all costs. Not to mention the coat we incurred for the dry cleaning of our coats and a few sweaters. Big let down!!

The location and charm of Murray had me back for a second visit. The unique rooms and hallways and amazingly kind staff make the visit truly magical. Love being right on Main Street!

Great location, nice and comfortable.

Nice hotel with old feel charm. The room was a little small and only had one chair (no table) for sitting. The room was a little noisy, I wouldn’t want to be there during the busy season.

The Murray is a nice, clean, comfortable hotel in the middle of all the action. The people there are very nice and helpful.

Good location. But rooms were not very quiet. Does not offer a refrigerator and the TV and channel selection is inadequate.

I loved the Victorian decor and the old pictures hung everywhere. I took time just to walk the hallways and look at the pictures/. I also liked that they allowed me to leave my luggage after checkout to go explore the island. This was very appreciated.
