This hotel is a favourite of mine. If I need accommodation in Aberdeen then this establishment is my go to. It’s got a family run sort of feel and many of the staff have been there for years which speaks volumes.
I overheard a gentleman checking in who last stayed there 10 years ago and was saying how nice it was to be back. Nuff said.

Nice room, comfy bed and decent breakfast - though would have been nice to be offered toast as everyone else seemed to be!

I liked everyone

Lovely visit to a hotel I knew well in the 1960’s. Whilst there have been changes to the layout of the hotel, it still retains a welcoming feel. The staff are very helpful and clearly enjoy working there. I’d have no hesitation in staying again.

Very nice overnight stay while visiting friends & family in Aberdeen. Comfortable clean room, big car park, really friendly staff & great choices for breakfast.

Rooms were a little dated but the bathroom was fairly modern. Not a ton of food options that are walkable in the area. Breakfast was okay. Staff was friendly.

Hotel was fine, dated but functional- lift to first floor, I was on second.
Room ok, bed comfortable, shower over bath was fine but you have to climb in and out and nowhere to put shampoo etc.
I was very tired after a long day and drive, I got No sleep at all. Noise from extractors resonating through room and bed cutting out then starting again, made sleep impossible- There were sounds like rats in the roof above bed - I was informed that it was actually Seagulls walking around and certainly their annoying calls went on all night. Got up, showered ( slipped in the bath) checked out before breakfast was due to open but the staff sorted me out and it was very nice as were the staff. They were aware of the issue ( the managers should either soundproof the room or stop its use- hotel certainly wasn’t full) of noise from vents and kitchen appliances, also of the troublesome seagulls.
I was born in Aberdeen but my visit showed a city which has been wrecked by “environmental concerns” and commercial degradation, the ULEZ town centre and the creation of new “shopping centres “ appear to have wrecked it heart, there were more seagulls than people in Union Street and the few shops still open were empty as were the restaurants. What a shame.
Waste of £100 on hotel, taxi fares £20 ( because my car isn’t ULEZ compliant and a”city” centre restaurant whose food was disappointing but I don’t blame them as they had 6 covers all evening how can you cook good food when you don’t make money

Nice ambiance, lovely hotel. Rooms were very clean, nicely decorated.

Overall all, a very nice hotel. The only criticism, and it is a very minor one, is that the beds are rather hard. That is pretty much all i could come up with about which to complain.

It was nice to stay in the first hotel I stayed in on Arrival to Aberdeen in the mid 80s. It is just as well maintained as I remember. I can see it has been kept up to date and is just as fresh as i remember it. The staff were excellent and courteous. It all added to a excellent visit to see old friends. I can recommend it easily to anyone looking for that special weekend in the Granite City.

We stayed for 9 days during our trip to Aberdeen, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The staff were exceptionally friendly, breakfast and dinner dining offered a good choice, and offered an excellent choice at a reasonable price. I’d happily stay again.

This is an old manor house covered to a hotel. Furnishings are entirely modern, cleanliness was great, and there is a lift. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant had good selections for both breakfast and dinner. We recommend the Scotch Broth!

We are both from Aberdeen but no longer have family there. Staying at the Atholl is like a warm comfort blanket with happy memories of family times there. Best staff skirlie ever too. We will always return for a stay at the Atholl.

Disappointed to be given an attic room in the hotel - not ideal for someone who is 6'2'' as I could only stand upright in the middle of the room. A lack of water in my room the following morning was also disappointing. Hotel management did apologise at checkout and offered me the opportunity to shower in a different bedroom, but I was not able to take this up due to time constraints.

This little hotel had it all. It looks like a castle, so already you feel special. The checkin area is small but the staff all work together. We had dinner and breakfast as well as drinks at bar. You don’t have to go anywhere and parking was easy too. The room was special very clean and cozy. There’s nice wood trim everywhere, (Honey colored). Everyone was friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again!!!
