I really loved our stay at this lodge. Staff was friendly and helpful, even though you could tell some of them were ready for the season to be over. Obviously, it's in a stunning location, and I cannot get enough of the NP lodges. Of note, I saw a lot of negative reviews regarding the food. The night we stayed, it was buffet only, and everything I had was delicious.

We loved our Old Faithful Inn experience. Such a cool historic hotel. We sat out and watched Old Faithful go off as well as some shooting stars. Wonderful enviroment and exoerience.

We were in the old lodge, so the room is small, but beautiful with the old Log walls shared bathroom not a problem our room open to old faithful. We could see the northern lights. Staff is super friendly. Sit down dinner was way overpriced.

Very nice facility and the dining for dinner and breakfast was excellent. Will definitely be back.

Pros
The Location - Right in front of Old Faithful Geyser with one large and one small viewing area to see the Geyser erupt
The Vibe - All wooden 19th century lobby with lots of seating on 2nd and 3rd floor lobbies and a couple of bars and a coffee shop
Cons
The Food - A Restaurant that needs dinner reservation in advance, the same boring menu everyday and a shop with ice-cream and cold sandwiches
The Check In - I arrive 15 minutes before 4 pm only to be told that checkin is at 4 come back at 4. When I replied its like 10 mins, by the time we unload our bags, park the car and make it to room it will be 4 pm, and then young lady replies rooms are not ready we are short of staff. Check out is 11 am, they had 4-5 hours to ready the room.
The Room - Upon checking saw that the trash is not taken out of the room, the shower is broken (was fixed next morning) . Centralized heating, no ac in the day, only a table fan, very very dated room. But the bed and sheets and bathroom were clean, a saving grace.
The elevator was in the middle of a very long corridor.
Safety - Many potential security issues don't want to reveal here.

This hotel was 200 yards from Old Faithful. It is an historic hotel that lacks modern features. No TV no radio no Internet and no A/C. Just loads of character and history. Dining was a real problem as you need to make dinner reservations days in advance. However breakfast was first come and it was delicious. We loved our stay. I highly recommend you book through Hotels.com for good rooms

Great location - could walk to food, gifts, attractions.

Old Faithful geyser was a great experience.

It was very nice to be able to just walk down to Old Faithful. Although this was the most expensive hotel we have stayed at. The room was old and small. The radiator made noise during the night. It was very warm in the room ( we knew there was no AC) but all the other hotels in the park had fans in the room. Not this one. We had to park very far away and it was dark walking back to the hotel. No elevator so be prepared to lug suitcases up the stairs.

Wasn't terribly happy about the bathroom being down the hall since we are elderly.. it was a very historic and classy log room

The room was awful. Too small, no TV, dirty, old.
Just terrible. It doesn’t worthy 500 dollars.

I guess the only thing I did not like was that I had to share a bathroom and shower with all the other guest, Ok I get it they want to keep this in the place nostalgic and I knew it ahead of times but reality did not sink in until I got there. Obviously having all the hot springs and geyser right there was great. And the bison that showed up was a plus. At night they had a violinist playing which was really nice. The lodge is really beautiful.

The room was more like a one star motel. No AC, no WiFi, no maid service, spotty cell service, no TV, no coffee maker and only 1 coffee sachet and very dated and unappealing decor! The best and only positive comment I can make about this outrageously priced hotel is the view of Old Faithful and the stunning lobby! The expensive breakfast buffet was what is included in even 2 star motels! We will never stay here again or even recommend it. Loved Yellowstone Park but will stay outside of the park next time we visit! If we could we would give this hotel a negative star!

The bathroom and shower options need to be improved.

Loved the property
Was a little concerned initially because I didn’t have an attached bath.
But the shared shower areas surpassed my expectations.
Highly recommend
Only con is that there’s no WiFi.

Was close to the geyser.
Mouse in our room. At checkout she was told about it and she said yes she knew it. Lacking in elevators. Would never stay there again nor recommend it.

Roughing it! No AC. No Wi-Fi
Just overall run down and yet still charging for premium lodging $500

I wish we didn’t stay here after all, it was way too expensive for a hot evening with no air conditioning after a long day in the park. It is iconic but just go visit and see the lobby and stay somewhere else

The Lodge and property is beautiful. We were not comfortable with the shared bathroom set up.

The place is run down. Food is expensive and terrible. For the price it costs to stay there, very disappointed.

The property was very nice. The challenge was noisy during the day when our bus driver really needed to sleep. So that was a disappointment. We appreciated the flexibility of the late check out.

It is a very unique historical hotel

For $300 I would have expected more. I understood that bathrooms were down the hall. Those bathrooms were used by all visitors and were a mess. The noise level made our stay challenging. It was nice to be able to hike around lower geyser basin and see Old Faithful erupt several times. Our dining experience was good.

Little wild animals in the room.

We had a wonderful stay. Can’t beat the location! Restaurant was full but we got on the waiting list and only waited 18 mins to o get a table. Great atmosphere right as you step into the inn. Ice machines were convenient. Only complaint is that our room was really warm. No AC but even with the window opened it was warm. Other than that it was definitely worth staying, even for the high price. Employees are really nice and polite.

Love everything about Old Faithful in but please you really need to have Wi-Fi in this day and age. And I hate to have to say it but it really is a necessity. Will come back however again and again!!!!!

Hot, noisy, no amenities. I spent $600 and it seem like I was fighting the elements of the hotel.👎

Convenient location with great options for breakfast, snacks and dinner. However, the room we booked, despite looking clean, it had bed bugs. We were severely bitten in the one night we stayed over.

NO Bathroom
No closet
No soap
1 wash cloth in filthy sink
No A/C
Old fan filled with dirt and lent very nasty
Camping is better than staying there

The price for a room at the Old Faithful Inn is beyond ridiculous. We opted for a room without a bathroom which still cost us around $300. The walls were paper thin. We could hear the entire conversation of the people in the rooms next door. Luckily there was a sink and we could open the windows to let in some cool air. The windows did have screens.
6.0
For the price you pay to stay here, the food options are horrible. The rooms are small, very loud, no air flow/fan or AC and no fridge or WiFi.
The only dinning room is reservation only, which left the Bear Pit/Bar area. Their is only 5 food items on the menu, which was not a great selection.
Very diappointed in the bang for your buck, will not stay here again.

It is what it is. Set expectations for a very old, seasonal hotel, read all the reviews, and you won’t be surprised. Front desk personnel are not warm, friendly, or knowledgeable but they get you your room keys which they are there to do. But the location and convenience is what you are paying for.

It was great. Place was booked and I was able to snag the cheapest room so had to share a shower. Night staff was very friendly but needed more information training. Absolutely beautiful stay. Food is great, staff friendly and go out of their way for you.

My family and I loved staying in this old inn.

We were wrongfully misled with the room that we booked for our wedding anniversary, which we were very excited about. It showed that we reserved a geyser window view. But we got a wrong view. It affected our whole stay.
