A very relaxing and enjoyable experience.

Still love the pools but the constant construction noise that started at 7:30am and went until 6 pm was horrible! The staff weren’t helpful. There were more little signs saying why stuff was incomplete or unfinished. Then on top of that little notes about where this or that goes…. We’ve been going there 50 years! No recognition of that even when you mention it. We’ll never go again! Overprices of course! So so sad…..

Nice staff. Expensive for the condition- 70’s decor. Excellent location.
4.2
The grounds are a beautifully well thought out selection of lovely plantings that are very well cared for. They enhance the stay at this quiet spot.
The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms very comfortable.

We arrived at the property ~1:10PM. We acknowledged that check-in time is 3PM, and asked the front desk if our room might be available even though we were a couple of hours early. The front desk clerk told us that the room was clean and available, but that we would have to pay a $30 fee to move in earlier than check-in. The clerk was polite, knowledgeable, and efficient -- he was simply conveying to us what the house rules are. We felt gouged by the request to pay $30 dollars for simply moving in early -- something that does not cost the property anything. Totally ungracious on the part of the Roman Spa, shamefully nickel and diming customers .

It very accommodating, there was no spa service on Sunday or Monday.
4.2
Not clean. No daily house keeping. Not worth the cost.

Go somewhere else, total rip off.

Jack hammer and construction during our stay by the mineral pools. The hot water system was broken and the pool’s were cold . Going to a Hot Springs Spa with cold pools makes me wonder why they didn’t offer a free return visit in the future? They offered late check out to use their cold pools? They offered a 30% off coupon but couldn’t even deliver that as we checked out.

this was centrally located so we could walk everwhere we wanted to go or just relax in the wonderful pools. very tranquil

I did not like the fact there was no cleaning of the rooms, unless we asked. An early check in cost. The pool was to hot. Otherwise, the staff and the the resort itself was excellent.
4.2
Basically, a 1970s style motel with an in-wall AC unit. not worth the $300 per night price.
4.2
All in all we enjoyed to room and the resort
AC was week
Auto shutoff kept the room from cooling off
Pillows are hard. Would suggest more in the closet

The location was good, walking distance from the main street.
Lots of flowers and good thermal swimming pool.
The only bad thing is that the buildings have a very poor insulations and you can hear the people talk on the floor below.
4.2
Would’ve been good for half the price. Room and spa very basic. Massage was fantastic!
4.2
A friendly, comfortable place whose pools are kept to a very high and satisfying standards. Staff seemed happy to work there.

great location

The hotel sorely needs an update. It is a roadside hotel with some of the same bathroom fixtures since the 50s and hobbled together until now. The windows are thin. We would hear the bed squeaking a room above and the room rate was shockingly high for such a place. The pool is intentionally overheated -- I could not stay in it without sweating. No service came to our room the entire time (Covid rules) On the positive - it is just off the center of Main Street Calistoga. The farmers market is right out your door. You will know because the windows are so thin you'll hear them setting up. But is in a fantastic small town.

Had to upgrade to get a down floor unit. Shower/bath drain was clogged and not one drip of water would go down. It would ave beenpretty obvious to housekeeping if they had cleaned the tub.

Great relaxing time in Roman Spa Hot Springs.
4.2
I liked everything about it but it’s not fancy. Wish I could give it 4.5 stars. I would definitely stay there again if in Calistoga.
4.2
This is a motel renewed on the outside, the right price would have been half of what they charge. Rooms are just old not renewed with a vintage feeling as some reviews state. Still moquette on the floor and windows like AC. On the plus

Loved the beautiful gardens and patio areas. Friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere.

A lovely hotel, just off the Main Street of Calistoga, brilliant for walking to restaurants, shops etc.
Room a bit dated but good value, the gardens and spa are amazing so well kept. A relaxing stay.
4.2
Comfy beds, small full kitchen with large fridge, air conditioning, and lots of outside tables and chairs to relax in.

The room

This property had very nice hot springs and was centrally located to shopping and dining. However, the condition of the room was dismal. It felt more like a cheap motel than a Calistoga resort. The kitchenette and bathroom were very outdated. Also, they don't allow children under 18 years old but when we got there two kids were splashing around in the pool. I love kids, but these are thermal hot springs so it's supposed to be a meditative, quiet experience rather than a water park. Overall a horrible room for the $427 I paid for 1 night.
4.2
I love how welcoming the staffs are. The pool area was very relaxing. Very nice stay there.
4.2
The property is in a great location, but it is very old. Old carpet, old tile, old kitchen, old bathroom, etc. There were long hairs in the bathtub when we arrived, and there was a roach in our bathroom our second night. The walls are thin, and we could hear our neighbors banging around early Sunday morning. We will not be returning.

Excellent in every respect!!!

Was a great place to stay close to downtown! Room had so much like large fridge and kitchen area! Clean, friendly staff, and was nice.
4.2
Good location and clean rooms. Iffy internet. Disappointed that when we made our room reservation we were not told we had to make individual reservations at the spa.
4.2
Friendly staff, nice facility, the pool and spa area are kept very clean. The resort is beautifully decorated with colorful flowers.
