Pretty riverside views and a huge and fortifying breakfast are my favorite parts. I come to Iceland almost every year and it always includes a stay at Hotel Selfoss. And the water pressure is superb!

It was very fun to stay at the Hotel Selfoss with beautiful views of the river. Stay on floors 3 and 2 to ride up in the glass elevator with beautiful views of the river. Or walk up the stairs to your room also beautiful views of the area.
Hotel service and amenities were great ! The breakfast had something for everyone and much better quality than the usual "breakfast included" offering

Great hotel and great location. Lovely staff nice breakfast. Would recommend

Great stay. Water was a tad sulfuric which added some spice! Room was pleasant, had a great view, and was very comfortable.

Wonderful stay! We enjoyed the spa.So many dinner choices within walking distance. We went to the Old Dairy Food Hall across the street, Many choices there. Breakfast was the best here of our 9 day trip. So many choices on this buffet. We got a delux room with a river view. So spacious! Selfoss is in a very good location to see sites in Southern Iceland. Delightful town I’m glad we visited.

We had a quiet, comfortable room with a good view of the river. Construction had the main roads to the hotel closed. A construction worker told us the back roads to reach it. The front desk clerk could tell us how to get to a restaurant a half hour south. Breakfast buffet was nice with a good selection.

Asked for a room with a view to the river. Got a room with a view to a construction site. The bed was the same quality you would find in a 1980’s cheap cabin. Personel was very cold and not so welcoming.
I will choose another hotel if I ever go back to Selfoss.

The person checking me tried to make me feel less than. She left a bad taste in my mouth. Room was decent. Clean and spacious

This was one of the best hotels we stayed at during our 16-day travel in Iceland this trip! Our room was clean and spacious, with 2 comfortable chairs and even a sofa, as well as a desk and chair. The beds were comfortable. Bathroom was of decent size. Room was clean. Breakfast was well prepared. The good hotel made our stay in the area so much more enjoyable!

Nice clean room
Great breakfast spread
Friendly staff
Hot water smells like sulfur

Our shower had a weird leak onto the bathroom floor and room seemed run down. Not sure we’d stay here again. Friendly staff and decent breakfast. Well located and easy parking.

We were wet and cold and didn’t want to camp. Was having dinner at the awesome Krisp restaurant across the parking lot and decided to check and see if the hotel available. It was, and unlike everything else in Iceland - reasonably priced. The hotel is a bit old and a little worn - but it was clean and the staff was super quality. Parking easy.

Hotel Selfoss is a great place to stay to explore the Golden Circle and surrounding area. The hotel is near cool shops and a variety of food options. The only thing I was a little disappointed by was the “spa” - it was not a place to go soak in a hot tub or sweat in a sauna - instead it was somewhere you could book services, like a massage, but not of general use to hotel guests.

Modern hotel in the centre of Selfoss. An ideal stop off when seeing the sights on the Golden Circle.

Not that great… Our room was very outdated despite the hotel being partially renovated. Carpet was peeling by the entry door and looked like it was maybe caused by a leak from the bathroom shower. It poured rain and there was a drain right onto our outdoor patio. The fridge didn’t work. No bedside tables.

Great stay! Highly recommend. We had a view of the river and loved it. Beds were very comfortable and hotel was quiet.

The bed was uncomfortable and felt like I was sinking in the middle, woke up with sore back. Other than that the hotel was very clean and quiet.

Hotel was ok for a stop over. I wouldn’t do more than 1 night. Breakfast isn’t worth it.

It was quite hot in the room even with the window open. Breakfast was very good, was not notified at check in about spa facilities being available with our reservation. Instead, I was notified via email survey after. Hotel is very nice. Loved how there was a walkable little area with food and shops across the street.

Great place as a pit stop during trip in Iceland. Nothing fancy, but has the basics and is super close to everything selfoss has to offer. We will stay here again when we visit Iceland!

Nice place. Great spa. Happy hour prices just OK but breakfast was fabulous!!

At first I was not sure about where we were staying. Turned off the main road and parked right in front. What I thought was the lobby area appeared run down (actually I believe it is being worked on) and when I got to the doors they were all locked. My thought - Oh no". However walked around the back and found a beautiful main entrance and modern lobby. Clean comfortable room and great breakfast. Right in town with many dinning options and shopping - all within walking distance

Good room with a river view. Car parking available for hotel guests. Breakfast was an additional cost so went to a local bakery instead. Some good dining options nearby, as well as a supermarket.

It was a great simple hotel with everything we needed! The woman at the front desk was very friendly and even offered to dry our clothing because we had just come from a super rainy hike.

We booked the economy double. Our room was in their old building. Very small room (no bedside tables provided) which was quite inconvenient. Bathroom was small too (tiny sink causing water all over the floor). Water from the shower was extremely hot regardless of turning around the knob. Outdated furniture. Noises can be easily heard from adjacent rooms. Beds were comfy and space was clean though. Breakfast was worth for the price.

Very convenient location - seems like they have merged two hotels? It’s a good place to stay when in the area!

Room, bed, and spa were excellent. Shower and tap water had a strong smell of eggy sulfur. For water refills, go to the bar and ask for their filtered water.
Great area with lots of dining options within walking distance - be advised they all close at 21:00. Highly recommend Byrja for breakfast.

Nice location in the middle of town- walkable to many restaurants and bakeries and easy access to main road that leads to Golden circle and southern Iceland. Free conveniently located parking for hotel guests. Curtains didn’t fully block out light which was annoying. Hotel is undergoing some construction but we didn’t have any problems with noise. Expensive hotel breakfast buffet available- we didn’t eat at it.

This is a beautiful property, just along the bank of a river. The rooms were clean and nice.
My only complaint is that they did not initially honor the VIP benefit of a free breakfast. I had to show the Expedia email saying that breakfast was included in the room rate. Then, the staff agreed.
However, later the front desk staff said that they knew Expedia was offering this benefit, but it was a mistake. I thought, why give me a hard time about this, when you know Expedia has this benefit on their website.
That said, I would stay at this property again. It was in the middle of town, all restaurants were within walking distance, the breakfast buffet was good, and the rooms were clean.

close to restaurants and shopping, cool little town. Breakfast was the worst we had in Iceland, dinner was good. very walkable with good parking.
Rooms were good sized also recommend the spa
