I couldn't stay in this place since when they gave me the room it was contaminated with cockroaches.

Booked a room with window and private bath.
Checked in paid and was taken to a small room with no window and shared bath.
I have stayed at the Pacande multiple times over 15 years and have never been treated this way.
Pacande has changed in the last couple years for the worse.
Will not recommend or stay here any more.
Better hotels are a available for same price in the area.

Very welcoming and hopeful staff. We stayed here after arriving in San Jose at midnight. Somebody was waiting for us at the door with a smile, and served us a sweet breakfast in the morning. Great place.

This is a really bad Hotel located in the worst country I have traveled to. This Hotel needs to be shut down.

I wouldn’t recommend for more than one night. The white comforter was dirty from both beds. Loud night noise coming from the kitchen and also from street. Location is sketchy at night good food options nearby.

The family rooms were great for our family. Thank you.

Nice little place to stay for a few days while exploring San Jose. We called it our treehouse. Very close to everything, staff is very kind and helpful. Great bakery just around the corner to pick up amazing goodies. Lovely breakfast at the hotel in the am. They will arrange a shuttle to and from the airport for you. $20USD for our group of 5. $10USD for the way back to the airport!the beds were clean. The only complaint I do have is that our bathroom didn’t feel clean at all. Otherwise, we loved it.

This place just feels nice. The staff made sure we had a shuttle from the airport. I felt very taken care of. The rooms are comfortable and well decorated. I will be staying here again.

We stayed one night—clean & big room. Daniel arranged the shuttle service from the airport, the driver was good and Daniel ordered dinner from a restaurant for us. Good breakfast. Great place to stay near SJO!

That the were two floors and the room was in good condition

For the price and the location, this place is just average. It is only a ten minute Uber ride or 8.oo by red taxi. I liked staying here because it was so close to the airport and only a 7 minute taxi back to the rental car area to get a car. The breakfast was good and the staff are all kind, but the area around here is kind of sketchy. There are bars on all the windows and it makes one feel unsafe, but this hotel only has one way to get in, and they keep it secure. We felt safe here once inside, but walking around outside was done with caution, but then again, your in San Jose, so everywhere feels sketchy.

The breakfast area was lovely

It’s a nice family run hotel. We have had enough space for our family of 5. The walls are thin so you hear the noises from early on ((5-6), which wasn’t so much of a problem for us being jet lagged coming from Europe. Good breakfast, helpful staff. It wasn’t the cleanest place but overall good value for money.

Centrally located. A bit of heavy traffic getting to the El Centro, but close to the airport. Breakfast is included at a VERY reasonable cost for the entire stay.

Tiffany & her boyfriend were wonderful hosts!
My daughter & I only stayed one night as our plans took us to Quepos the day after arriving, but that short stay was memorable because of these two!

When we checked in, only one staff was working there. He was extremely busy. Our check-in took too long. Whole night the noise around never stopped.

The owner of the hotel and his family are very lovely and helpful. They organized a shuttle from the airport to the hotel in advance. We arived around 10pm and therefore, were very greatful about the service. We had a huge and very comfortable bed. Since we stayed only for one night, we can't say much about the area but we felt really safe. We even had the opportunity to rent a car from them in good condition for a very good price. We would definitely recommend the hotel and the car service!

The staff were wonderful and welcoming. The area around the hotel was ok. Nothing open by 10pm. We had a king bed and our own bathroom. The bed was decent. The breakfast was wonderful cooked by the staff fresh!

I didn’t do enough research before I booked this room. It was VERY small, about 8x12 and you had to share a bathroom. No AC It seemed clean enough and the staff was nice.
We ended up leaving and staying at another hotel.

The staff were lovely and super helpful.
San Jose is not my place of choice and the pictures were was a true representation of the room I stayed in. But it was clean just in need of some tlc.

Economical, comfortable, authentic Costa Rican B&B hotel in the heart of Alajuela. Breakfast was great, staff were very friendly and helpful. Travelers should note that the private bath with 2-3 bed rooms are upstairs.
