When we decided to splurge on an expensive luxury hotel, we expected a basic level of service. Like a working elevator. A room on the 2nd floor was problematic given my wife’s knee injury, and we were astonished to learn the elevator had been out for a month. The young staffers gamely hauled our bags up the steep stairs, but there wasn’t even a proactive offer to bring our bags downstairs the day we departed.
We were brought lactose-free milk with our breakfast, and when we asked for whole milk were told they didn’t have any. This was completely untrue - they run a cafe next door! The young lady told us it tasted exactly like regular milk - also untrue. It’s not a huge deal, but for $800/night, service should be without problems. The cleaning staff was excellent, and the front desk friendly. It just didn’t seem like anyone was really in charge.

A Magical Boutique Stay in the Heart of Roma Norte
We recently stayed at La Valise Mexico, and it exceeded all of our expectations. My wife, who has a deep appreciation for boutique hotels, was particularly excited to stay here, and the experience truly delivered. The location in Roma Norte is perfect—right in the middle of one of Mexico City’s most vibrant and artistic neighborhoods, with fantastic restaurants, cafes, and galleries just steps away.
We stayed in the Atlas room, which was beautifully designed and incredibly spacious. The room felt like a perfect blend of luxury and local artistry, with thoughtful, stylish details everywhere you looked. The large, comfortable bed and chic sitting area created a warm, inviting atmosphere that made it hard to leave the room.
The attention to detail at La Valise is impeccable, each room was very unique from what we saw but Atlas was our favorite and we enjoyed its great rooftop views and outside shower.
If you're looking for a unique, luxurious boutique hotel in Mexico City, La Valise is the perfect choice.

I adored this hotel! Our room was spacious, clean and charming. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating throughout our entire stay. The neighborhood has a ton of shopping & restaurants and the hotel is in the middle of it all (yet on a quiet block). I will definitely stay at this property again when I’m back in CDMX.

Very fun and original hotel. Our room was huge and the staff was great. Would recommend it to anyone.

Wonderful two-night stay for my husbands birthday. The neighborhood is wonderful, the location great, the room beautiful. The daily breakfast was a treat. Just know the hotel is slim townhouse/brownstone so stairs to rooms so not ideal for those with mobility issues. Thank you for great weekend!

Great boutique hotel, friendly and accommodating staff, interior decorations were a cool vibe, great safe location near a lot of bars and restaurants. Our only slight “negative” was that they are expanding and doing a lot of construction next door so it was pretty loud but that won’t be forever. Overall, we had a really great stay and would go back!

La Valise is my new favorite place to stay in the Mexico City neighborhood of Roma Norte. The small hotel feels more like a private home than a traditional hotel which is part of its charm.

La Valise is exceptionally well-located in Roma. It's a great location for walking to shopping, bars, and restaurants, but is on a quieter side street where sleeping soundly is possible.
The staff couldn't be more helpful and courteous. There was a staff member on site every time we went out or came in, and we were always greeted warmly. We had a minor issue one morning with no hot water, but the staff immediately responded and had things working again within an hour.
Freshly prepared breakfast brought up to the room every morning was a treat!
Can't wait to return to La Valise when we're next in Mexico City.

La Valise was amazing! The hotel is only 3 rooms so it's very special and intimate. You feel like you're in a very cool upscale apartment. Next time we come to Mexico City we will stay at La Valise again.

What a gem! La Valise is a stylish and comfortable inn--more like a groovy apartment--in the middle of the most happening part of Mexico City. We were running late to check in, but our concierge, Hermes, waited for us and greeted us with a warm welcome. The next day, we struggled with the decision to stay in the room and absorb the beautiful ambiance vs. seeing what La Roma had to offer. The room is THAT beautiful. We did a little of both. ;)
Love, love, love this spot and would not stay anywhere else on our next visit. Thank you, La Valise, for your graciousness and helping make some great memories for our trip.

I can't have enough praise for this hotel and the staff. Our room was incredible, actually a small apartment for a very reasonable price. It was spacious and comfortable. The location is great. It is centered in an area which seemed to be populated by young educated people, amongst a very large number of great restaurants. It was sort of a hipster neighborhood, which reminded me a lot of present day gentrified Brooklyn, New York.
I do not speak Spanish, but the staff all spoke excellent English and were extremely helpful. In fact, during our stay, my wife cut her head in a fall on the street. Upon returning to the hotel, and planning on nursing the wound ourselves, the staff insisted on arranging to have a physician come to the hotel and bandage the wound in our room.
I have absolutely nothing negative to say and recommend this place highly for room, location and staff to anyone traveling to Mexico City.

Ive stayed in many hotels of various levels of service throughout Mexico and I have to say this was beyond my expectations. Located in quiet Roma Norte, close to a couple of vibrant restaurant scenes and nightlife a few blocks away in Zona Rosa.Next time I come to CDMX, I will be staying here.
