Service is good however my room is very noisy due to the metro and construction outside

Hotel staff at the check-in forgot to give a summer kit gift so I asked at the last day to get.
You have a breakfast with all the same menu's for weekend and weekdays.

I loved that the subway was so close by and on the other side of the subway were restaurants however on the hotel side of the subway there was very little to eat out and to see. Nevertheless, a good area of the weather wasn’t so killer.
Also, the staff was for the most part friendly but there was a desk staff who was a little too firm and angry for no reason. She got better afterwards however it wasn’t a good first experience as I felt uncomfortable and scared to ask for anything.
The carpet on our floor was lifting and the wallpaper in our room the same, however it was a nice calm place for a week. We enjoyed our room and the breakfast - though it was the same menu every day. Merci!

Very professional and attentive staff.

Good to have a stay here, convenient location with convenience shop just next to the hotel, nice stay!

Just average

good location

It's a great location for exploring Seoul. The buffet breakfast is amazing. Also, if you stay for a long time, they make a washing machine and dryer available (we recommend using the washing machine, then doing the drying in the launderette across the road, as it is much quicker).
We also recommend buying a climate card for the Seoul underground and buses, but be aware that you buy the card in one place, then top it up in a standard machine in an underground station, which only takes small notes, and credit cards issued in Korea!
4.2
The location was pretty convenient for the subway Line 2 and airport bus, and there was a convenience store next door. The room was fine if small, but the design of the shower was poor. We couldn't fit the bathmat under the shower room door, so if we weren't very careful then a small stream formed from the shower room into the bedroom! At best a small puddle formed! The shampoo and soap pumps didn't work well either.
4.2
Clean hotel in a good location close to transportation links. However the AC is locked at 25c even during the summer with the outside air temperature in seoul being above 30c you can't really cool down and sleep comfortably. Would be great in the winter but not during spring and summer.

Clean, friendly staff

As others have said, the hotel is a bit run-down (most notably the buckling carpets in the hallways). But I found the room to be clean, and that's all that mattered to me. The front desk staff were professional, competent and friendly - as were the cleaning staff. Towels changed daily. Water bottles provided daily. Bed linens changed daily IF requested. (I never did this, but you place the little "eco" card on the bed to request fresh bed linens.)
In terms of location, it's a bit out of the way, but the subway station is across the street and it's a 30-minute subway ride to most attractions in Seoul (ex. it's about a 40-minute subway ride to Insadong.) It's NOT a touristy neighbourhood. The lower price reflects that. So, there's a trade-off there.
I'm not familiar with the neighbourhood, but according to the elderly taxi driver who dropped me off at the hotel, it's a hip place that young people refer to as "Gu-Di" (short for "Guro Digital Complex"). The hotel is located slightly apart from the bustling night life, but should you want to venture into the restaurant district across the street for a late dinner, note that you will likely need to navigate said night life. During the day, it's a fairly nondescript sprawling, modern, white-collar neighbourhood.
Next time, I might consider staying at an apartment hotel that is 1) closer to tourist sites 2) equipped with a kitchen. However, Shilla Stay Guro was perfectly fine for my needs this trip.

The service from staff at the front desk and dining was excellent. My concerns were more about the property itself, and Shilla should be ashamed about their maintenance. First, all the carpets on floors were loosen and come out. It is easy maintenance to stretch carpets and fix them. I did it for my house, and it doesn't cost much as not replacing carpets. Didn't they know about it?
Second, breakfast has never been changed and always the same. Shilla again should be ashamed about their management. The corporation under Samsung family only cares about Shilla hotel but not Shilla stay? If the quality of breakfast cannot be good enough, you can either charge more and make it right or free breakfast for all. I felt so wasted and ignored despite of the fact that restaurant staffs were excellent and the top service. I blame more about Shilla stay and the executive level.

Excellent hotel and service. The hotel is located in a great area, close to restaurants, stores and metro station.

I had a wonderful long stay at Shilla Stay - Guro Digital Complex. The hotel was clean, and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, with many speaking English which made my stay even more comfortable - because my Korean language skills are terrible, I was even more grateful for this. The rooms were cozy and provided a relaxing atmosphere, perfect for unwinding after a busy day. I also loved using the gym and the provision of a laundry room made it feel like home.
The hotel's location was extremely convenient, being not far from the station, and surrounded by numerous restaurants, shops, and even a fantastic nail salon. However, I also enjoyed eating in the hotel's restaurant where various dishes were served at breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Overall, it was a delightful experience, and I highly recommend Shilla Stay for anyone visiting the area.

The staff were kind, helpful, knowledgeable, and competent. The room has everything we needed. Towels and drinking water were provided on a daily basis. The streets we walked on were not very clean and somewhat smelly.

I was so happy with my week long stay here. Front desk staff was so friendly and our room was cleaned and stocked daily. The laundry prices were a bit much, but they did an amazing job at that too. The food at the cafe was delicious as well. I can’t wait to come visit again and stay here. Just keep in mind it is a bit of a trek from downtown Seoul, but the subway it conveniently right across the street and Uber will call a taxi for you. Amazing job Shilla!!! :)

The staff are excellent and are very helpful in giving you help when you need it. They also speak an array of different languages; I’ve heard Japanese, English, and Korean which I would say is an indication of professionalism and diversity which I have lots of respect for. The room itself was very quiet, clean, and comfortable. The housekeeping was also professional, quick, and friendly.
In regards to transportation, the Guro Digital Complex Station (Exit No. 6) is the closest station to the hotel. I would say the travel time to and from the more touristic areas such as Myeongdong and Itaewon are quite far but I would say that with Seoul’s efficient transportation it’s quite okay. But some notable areas are close such as: Hongdae, and Gangnam.
Given my comment above, the hotel is around some pretty good areas that I would say aren’t advertised as much, such as Kkalkkal street. I would also add on that there are excellent restaurants around the hotel that are cost friendly.
All in all this is an excellent hotel! The front desk staff are excellent hard workers and are diverse in speaking an array of different languages.
Thank you Shilla Stay at Guro for enriching my experience in Korea! God Bless.

Very modern and clean hotel. Located quite far from many sights in Seoul but has a fun dining street area nearby. Decent breakfast with egg station.

Nice big rooms with excellent bathrooms. Only NEGATIVE is the very warm rooms. At checkin they warned me that it was still winter in march/april so they had not cooling in the A/C, but 27*C is too warm for a hotel room. Only solution reception had was to turn of the heat and open the window, but with a metro and highway outside it got noisy.
Very comfortable bed and good king size. Bathroom had nice asian toilet and shower was big and had warm water with good pressure.
Breakfast was just ok. Not bad, but also not excellent.

Nice hotel but far from Seoul Central.
Close to Train Station .
45 mins from hotel to Meandong.
Hotel facilities normal. Room getting old .
4.2
Great customer service and travel-related needs.
4.2
It was an okay stay due to transport/shops/restaurants being near the hotel. The rooms were clean, great view from the high floors, however, the room was too small and most of the rooms in the hotel are the same size. the restaurant was not to our taste, we ate there once, there was not enough options. The area isn't touristy, which meant people were staring and just not very accommodating, in hindsight I would've stayed in the more touristy areas i.e. Hongdae, Itaewon or Gangnam, I would pay the higher price in hindsight. Unfortunately I wouldn't stay here again.

Wonderful service and fabulous breakfast
