This was absolutely wonderful. Great area. Great hosts. Went above and beyond.

The host is kind and nice. Location is good for young people to walk around - many shops, restaurants, etc.

If you're looking for a guesthouse to stay at, this is the best option in Hongdae! Centrally located in one of Seoul's most popular districts, you have access to everything steps from the front door. Whether you want to grab a meal, shop, go clubbing, or visit a coffee shop, you won't have to walk more than 5 minutes to access everything.
The owner, Brian, is incredibly welcoming and beyond hospitable. I booked a private room that was ridiculously spacious, modern, and even had a balcony. There were areas to socialize with other guests and every time I saw Brian, he would ask how I was doing. He let me store my bags while I was waiting for my flight and brought even myself and some other guests snacks when we were hanging out in the courtyard.
Safe, cozy, and clean, the next time I come back to Seoul, this will be the only place I stay!

We had a great time at bunk Guesthouse. We stayed there for two weeks in a two people room. There are plenty of very nice hangout spaces and Brian is so nice to help you get around in Seoul and to recommend restaurants and places to see. It’s very central in Hongdae and it only takes 5 minutes to get to the metro station. The rooms are nice and clean and so are the hangout spaces. Overall a great experience would definitely go back!

A really good stay. Brian is super nice. A great that is very vibrant and lots of food options. Bed was comfy. The security system is great. With codes for not only your floor but also your room. Small lockers, nothing for suitcases. Bathrooms were clean. Overall a good stay

Owner is nice, and a great location. While clean enough, the bathroom smelled of feces, and that wafted into the bedroom even with the door shut. Does have a private balcony as it was the "sky pent", but this was depressing spot to hang out as the floor was stained, and some cheap plastic furniture thrown on it. Some paint, throw some plants up there, cheap festive lights, an umbrella or something and it'd been alright.

Brian was a great host - extremely friendly and speaks great English so communication was no problem at all.
I stayed at the Delux Double with Kitchen (SKY - Pent) on the hostel. My whole stay for a week was fine and pleasant. Shampoo, body wash as well as toothpaste is provided. For towels, you get them when you check in and you can change them daily by dropping them into the laundry baskets provided outside and self collecting clean ones at the counter. No issues with wifi connection, and there was TV as well as a mini fridge. The great thing about this room was that it is the only room in which food and eating is allowed. There is a microwave as well, great for heating up snacks for the late night :)
Just a note though, some of the photos listed on the room on Expedia might be misleading. The room is basically just the 2nd photo when you click on the room type. I was mistaken to think that there was a sofa and larger living room area based on the 5th photo listed under that room.
The bathroom was a little cramp for me as it's basically a single cubicle space for both the toilet and bath. But overall, everything is clean and functional.
The age of the hostel does show such as through the walls, flooring etc. so if you have a bit of OCD - you might be concerned. But overall, I had a fantastic stay and the location was so convenient. I'll be back again if I come back to Seoul and plan to stay in Hongdae :)

Stayed here based on good rating and the ratings well deserved. 1. Location close to public transport. We googled directions, got off of Hongik station and it was less than 5-7 min walk. You can see 7-11 (convenient store) once outside this guesthouse which was a good landmark. 2. Quick, friendly and efficient check in. I stayed at the sky-room (private bath) since it was only one available and got a deal low $70's for non-refundable rate. 3.We had one night so we tried to research lots of things to eat like "chimak" (fried chicken and beer", "Dak galbi" (chicken with mozzarella cheese" and traditional Korean food like "sulongtang" and street food. All here a few minutes of walking distance, all restaurant had English speaking staff. No research needed. 4. Good coffee and self-serve toast and cook eggs. I only had toast since planning to eat lots of Korean food that day. But the real gem of included breakfast in guest houses like this is meeting other travelers and their plans. They were talking about meercat cafe. You get to pet meercats, kangaroo and see a raccoon. $10 entrance fee. It was not in my plans and I don't ever go to the zoo but I had a good time.. They were very cute and smart. They open all your zippers and get very curious.

The host, Brian, is very nice and helpful. The location is near the metro (3 lines) and can be reached by walking about 6 to 8 minutes. There are quite a lot of restaurants and shopping areas nearby. The wifi is quite good.

I stayed at the sky-pent room at the top of the building. Station is not far, room was comfortable, and service was extraordinary. I liked the rooftop and front yard especially. Perfect place to enjoy the Hongdae mood. There were toaster and boiling machine in the room. Toilet was small though; similiar size to normal shower booth. Also there is no elevator, and stairs to the top is stiff. It was not matter to me but if you are with a baby or have to carry heavy luggages, could be a problem; the owner helped me to move my luggage. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at this room.

Perfect hostel experience. Brian was the best host you can imagine. Come here if you want to make new friends!

The location was great. The airport train line Hongdae stop is only a couple of blocks from the Bunk. Literally right outside the door are cafes, restaurants, and clothing stores. Clubs and places with live music are only a few blocks away. This is my third time in Seoul and this is the best place I have stayed at as far as location is concerned. This is where it's happening.
The guesthouse is simple but very comfortable. My room was nice and clean. I had a private bathroom that worked fairly well. It came with a hair dryer and some toiletries. There was free wifi and breakfast was also free.
The manager was very friendly. I like him a lot. He was helpful and warm. he was friendly but very respectful towards all the guests. If I ever get a chance to go back to Seoul, I would stay here again, God-willing.
A couple of notes, though. This is not a hotel. It's a guest house. Your expectations should be apt. There are (I think) three storeys to this property but there are no elevators. Be prepared to carry your luggage up some stairs. There is no concierge and there are no bell boys. My room had no tv but I honestly did not need it when, outside, it's bustling all day till the wee hours of the morning. Breakfast is free but it is also self-service. If you're cool with these things, you'll have an awesome time staying there!
