Really lovely rooms, and great staff, divine breakfast and great valet parking with a cold bottle of water given for my journey. Will return for sure.

Great location

Really enjoyed my stay at the Sofitel. Very professional and really appreciated the subtle French touches to align with the brand. Only small issue is that the location is more in the business part of the city so be prepared to walk to attractions, restaurants and bars if staying the weekend

Staff was particularly attentive and friendly. The hotel breakfast was one of the best I've ever had. I would go out of my way to book this hotel again on a trip back to Wellington.

Absolutely loved the breakfast, which had an extensive selection of hot and cold options and local produce.

Wonderful hotel and very attentive staff. The staff is what my stay enjoyable. When we arrived we had several problems. First, the room wasn't large enough to accommodate 3 adults. The staff upgraded us twice before we were satisfied. They blamed Expedia for this mistake. Of course this was for a cost.
After having trouble finding the hotel, the parking was a disaster. Parking is on street, but there are restrictions during the day hours. We ended up accepting valet parking, but again at a cost.
So overall the stay started poorly, but again I'll say the staff made it enjoyable. Very professional and well mannered.

Loved the time in Central Wellington. Ideal place to stay with great facilities , restaurants and so convenient.

Smallest Sofitel rooms I’ve ever experienced from this chain. Quite a walk to central area for dining or sightseeing.
2.0
Quiet hotel close to the Parliament, with comfortable rooms. Only con: the breakfast. The buffet has a limited choice, the quality of the food is poor and the service is super slow (eg 20 minutes to get a coffee).
2.0
Beautiful hotel in a very convenient location. Front desk staff wasn't very welcoming and the bed was too old it's already sinking.
2.0
Substandard. Def shouldn’t be five stars .. more like 3. Didn’t even have a heated towel rail. No real milk for tea. Tiny room. Shocking room service menu .. quiche Lorraine, burgers, fish & chips and club sandwich.. really??? More like a 70’s motor lodge. No salad or soup of lean meats or curry just a cheap menu that you would expect from a low rent takeaway bar. Not eve complimentary water. 3 stars at best. Will never stay here again. Sofitel should be ashamed def not up to their usual standard. I’d drop this branch!!

Beautiful rooms!!! I was staying in the Executive room with Club access. I love the evening happy hour from 5 to 7, it did indeed make me happy!
Staff is very friendly and accommodating.
Location is Fantastic!! Walking distance to Lambton Quay, Cuba Street, the National Museum, and Waterfront!!
I would highly recommend Sofitel for your next stay in Wellington!

Excellent comfortable hotel. We did not eat at the hotel and were only there overnight. Parking is an issue. Its on a steep hill with limited street parking which is free 8pm-8am if you can find somewhere close by. Outside those hours it is 2 hour paid parking so you need to leave or move. Valet was $55. Self parking nearby but the entrance was too low for my mid size SUV. Who would design such a place?

There are not many good 5 star hotels in Nee Zealand, but this is a good one. Wonderful beds, great staff, lovely breakfast. You can tell this is a good hotel as it’s full of corporate guests. I would definitely come back again

Staff were great Sergio, Holi and duty manager I think it was Arash please forgive me if I got your name wrong.Helped to set up a transcontinental job interview. It was just great ! Rooms spotless complementary range great.I would recommend it the staff are great. Holi went out of her way after booking error so I had a room and bed to stay in - wonderfully after a long drive.Impressive teamwork - thank you to the girl from Montana who was just lovely I must visit that big sky area some day.May you all be blessed - so so happy !

We had a wonderful one night stay

Got in at 3pm after a late arriving flight. We were told our room wasn't ready, which considering the price was unacceptable. After sitting in the club for 5 minutes, the front desk assistant came through and said our room was now ready, but just handing the keys and telling us the floor, then ran off - obviously they were understaffed. No assistance with the luggage or anything else. Far from the other Sofitels I have stayed at in Asia. Very expensive for a 3.5-4 star experience.
The dining area was nice and the staff seemed friendly. The location is good as it's close, but not as close as the Intercontinental (which does have excellent service too).
The rooms were nice, although the AC was not working particularly well, so in the afternoon when the sun hit the window the room became an oven, despite having the setting down as low as it would go. The rain shower head was about to fall from the ceiling too, but still worked luckily - it was very good.
All up, a mixed experience. I prefer the Intercon for the same price. The trip got off to a bad start with the plane being late and we in turn were late for an appointment, the hotel don't know this but tell their staff, you don't know how bad a day your guests are having. Our's was a an inconvenient day that was made into a bad day by these gestures. They have a long way to go before they are close to their international brand standards.

Beautiful setting and great accommodations! Would recommend!

Parking is a challenge

Very well presented hotel in a central position in Wellington. Lovely choice of breakfast items each morning. Staff very attentive and helpful for things to do and choice of restaurants nearby. Staff were able to accommodate our request of a low floor room to enable us to use the stairs and not the lifts.

Everything was excellent.

Friendly and helpful staff

The room has no drawers so I need to keep the clothes in the baggage, which is quite inconvenient

Parking was difficult and the convenient options were very expensive

Good value for high quality service and room in upscale hotel. Highly recommend. Room near the lift/elevator as seems to happen when not booking direct!

Great hotel, lovely room and service was excellent. Excellent meal at Jardin Grill

This was our favorite stay on our road trip around the North and South Island. It was somewhat expensive, but it was a situation where you pay more and you get more. The room was excellent, the service was excellent, the location was convenient, and we had a lovely stay. There was valet parking. I don't think we slept that well again the whole trip

I cannot fault the Sofital - the staff were compitent and friendly plus courteous - the room was gorgeous, had a fabulous view over Bolton historic cemetery and tree clad hills, and it was extremely quiet - the bar and restaurant were sumptuous and the meal we ate in the restaurant was excellent! Would highly recommend a stay in this hotel.

an excellent hotel. breakfast buffet was really good. i would have rated it 5 stars except for the fact that their internet server crashed and the internet was down for most of my stay. to get it fixed, they had to bring in someone from auckland! it crashed the first night of my stay, was down that night, and the next day and night as well.
other than that, everything was excellent. doubt the internet issue will re-occur.

The accommodations were very luxurious! The room was very quiet!

Outstanding truly 5 star hotel. We had 4 stops on this trip and Sofitel bed was the best. Convenient location, gym is well equipped, daily tea and coffee refill. Can’t think of anything not perfect at Sofitel Wellington. Great service, spotless clean, will stay again.

Average. Water not hot for two of five days. No servicing on one day.

Calls itself a 5 star hotel but its service is far from it! First of all the fish in the fish n chips was the worst fish I’ve had in my life, honestly don’t know what it was but it had the consistency of a gooey sludge fried in batter? We couldn’t even eat it. An the speaker in our room wasn’t working since we got there took about 5 back n forth calls and trips to reception to see what was going on after they kept telling us they were on the way to swap it with one from another room then 15 minutes or so goes by lol. And the “24 hour” mini bar said at about 2am we were only aloud two beers? And we’d only purchased a couple other drinks from them the same night 🤔. Safe to say I’ll never be back, gladly

The room we stayed in was lovely.

Excellent mostly, only minor gripe is that the hot water takes ages to heat up and never really gets hot enough. Other than that, really nice hotel and great location.

Fantastic stay

Had great stay, hotel room was really nice, quiet, and well set out. However restaurant needs a thorough clean and improved service. Would stay again though.

Staff were good.
We came back from our day out and room not made up and breakfast things still in the room

Everything was great, only 1 thing we had dinner in city centre and thought we would go back to hotel to have dessert very disappointing they were frozen which made them tasteless had to wait for them to thaw still tasteless.
But staff and room couldn’t have been better.
