Brusque, strange check in. Zero helpfulness. In terrible run down condition upstairs. Abandoned in the morning. Literally no one around. Cute outside, center of town location. Otherwise deeply disappointing. Haunting stories quite possibly true

Old hotel in perfect location within walking distance to local shops. We had a wonderful sea view and a useful balcony.
But the hotel itself was run down. It seemed that the focus was more on the restaurant and bar.
We pointed out that the parking signs outside were covered in bushes, but that didn't seem to make any difference for the front desk.
We accept impractical solutions, but there were some totally unacceptable conditions: 1) bathroom door could not close, 2) refrigerator had a loose connection to a multi-socket located beside the heating panel.
There were nice towels and accessories, but we saw dust on the bedside lamps and on the bathroom ceiling fan.
All in all not acceptable for the price.

I did not stay at this hotel. My booking was not completed therefore, we did not have a confirmation and needed to find lodging elsewhere

This Inn is an old house above the property's restaurant. It has older commercial grade carpeting covering rhe floors and old.furnature and squeeky beds. The house is old and...quaint, I suppose, but it does have a bit of a a "I'm in an old cottage vibe" going on. For instance, our bathroom door didn't even close and there was a lot of dusty rose and dark green surrounding us. Don't get me wrong, the place is kept clean, but just tired, and it just never made us feel very comfortabel.

The old Village Inn is a rare opportunity to step back in time and stay right on the square in a git Maine a beautiful little coastal town you can easily walk down to the beach or Perkins Cove or marginal Way and there are several entertainment and dining venues away the old Village Inn itself has an excellent chef and staff and I endure the nostalgia the end is under new ownership and they have changed the menu. I would prefer they change it back. It is less expensive now but more Italian type food and I really enjoyed the lobster bisque and more style food of the old menu but everything else was absolutely wonderful .

Loved the view, old world charm, and the bar!

Location was great…easy walk to beach restaurants and Marginal Way

The location was perfect! The room I had was clean and very spacious but could use a little updating. The carpet really needs to be replaced! The location and service made up for it though!

We were pleasantly surprised at the rustic charm of an old inn with most of the modern amenities.

My stay was great. Room was just as described. The work staff were all very pleasant. Great location right in the village of Ogunquit.

We stayed in room 7, the room could use some updating but the balcony was outstanding. Nice view of the river, beach and ocean. Also we had a nice breeze each afternoon to sit with a cocktail and enjoy the view. There has been a change in ownership recently. The menu is the restaurant is completely new which I wasn't thrilled with. Two of my favorites were no longer available, the filet or baked haddock. I decided to try the ribeye which was outstanding. The bartenders were also outstanding, we had a great time having dinner and drinks, so much so we went back for drinks a second night. The location made everything walkable which how we try to plan our trip to Ogunquit. We would definitely stay there again.

Everything is just old and dingy. There was no staff available, we were literally alone in the Inn, no other guest either.

The Inn is located at the heart of Ogunquit—close to the ocean, restaurants, bars and shops. Perfect spot to explore Ogunquit on foot.

Fantastic. A very quant inn. The inn brought back fond childhood memories of my grandparents old house. Very comfortable and the staff was very friendly.

You feel the stairs are narrow if you have large bags. The room was cute and cozy.

We had a lovely stay! The best things about staying here are: location, parking, size of room, view and mostly the staff!!
The things that we were less than pleased about was the area behind building where the outdoor stairs to our room began. There is a need to tidy up the area and paint the stairs given that it is the only way for us to enter room #7.

We stayed in room #1. Perfect two room suite for the weekend. The rustic decor and old style suit out taste exactly. Loved the location. Yet must importantly, owners Marcia & Dean were the best. Spent 1 ½ hours at the end of an evening with them in their cozy bar chatting with about their lives and travels. Better than a good book before bedtime. We will return.

Was a great stay. Great location, friendly staff and a fun place to be.

Good location but the room was horrible with holes in the walls and stains on the ceiling tiles. Had to walk up 30 stairs on the outside to our 2nd floor room that overlooked a bar across the parking lot. The a/c and the tv did not work. I wouldn’t stay there again for free.

This was one of my most awful stays and I travel a lot!
My room had no bathroom, as opposed to the description on the site. I had to travel down the hall with a key.
The pub was right downstairs and there was no way to fall asleep before 1:30am, after the last drunk people left. I had an important workshop the next day and woke up a complete mess.
Definitely misleading description and do not recommend

We arrived for a one night stay before check-in time and were happy to be able to leave our car in the lot before 3:00. From there it went downhill. We were under-whelmed with a lackluster welcome. We weren't even addressed by name. Furniture and TV were fine but room was quite dark with inadequate lamp lighting. There are no USB ports for phone charging on the lamps or anywhere, so glad we had an adapter. Only one squirt bottle of soap available, nothing separate for shower use. The shower basin filled up with water. Upon lifting the grate cover, the drain was completely covered with hair. (I took a picture to show them.) Once I wiped up the hair, the drain bubbled for a while before clearing the water. Upon checkout we received only a mildly apologetic, "I'll have to pour something down the drain."

When we checked in the gentleman was quiet rude. The place is located great location near everything, however the room could definitely use a make over.

Very well located , with nice parking
Very nice balcony .the only negative I will say is I think for 300$ us , bed sheets should not have stain on it has pictures shown .

What a cute place! Our room was large, clean, and comfortable. The dining room and bar were perfect. Highly recommend!

Worst in 50 years of traveling. Not really a hotel, rather a bar with rooms upstairs. Unfortunately our room was directly over the speaker system for a party on a Friday night that lasted until 1:30 A.M. I had to sleep on the couch in the front room as the bed was over the bar and I could not sleep.. BTW the electrical was primitive and dangerous, extension cords everywhere.

We arrived at dinner time and could not find a parking spot in the small lot at the back. We drove around for 15 minutes looking for alternative parking. When we got into the Inn, the downstairs restaurant was packed full of people. We checked in amongst the crowd and then drug our luggage up three stories of narrow stairs. I realized the man who checked us in charged us for a day more than we had booked, so I had to ask him for a refund. The home is lovely, but old, of course. If you’re looking for quaint and historical, this is a good location.

Our overall 3-night stay was fantastic! The general manager was outstanding and went out of his way to make us feel welcome and appreciated throughout the whole weekend. We were pleasantly surprised by the ease of parking, on-site bar and restaurant and additional restaurant on property with roof-top patio overlooking the ocean. The owners were terrific and we were always greeted like family as we came and went. Our room was larger than expected with a beautiful new bathroom and terrific balcony with ocean views. We had everything we needed with some additional thoughtful touches. The location of the inn couldn’t be more central in town, within easy walking distance to all shops, restaurants, beach and the entrance to the Marginal Way. Overall, an exceptional value and we will definitely be back!

Had a fun 2 night stay at this very old yet so quaint Inn. Staff was so friendly and so were other patrons. Absolutely top shelf
gourmet restaurant right in the Inn itself. We had a great third floor suite with balcony overlooking fun and yummy sister restaurant out back. Very clean. Would stay again.

If you want a classic New England inn, this is the place for you (it was built in 1833). The staff was great. We ate at the restaurant at the Inn and it was very good ($$$).

Friendly staff. Comfortable lodging with character. Well kept historic inn.

Vintage building, lots of stairs, no elevator. Noisy with street noise, restaurant below, loud folks in adjacent rooms.
Bed was comfy with the nice cotton sheets and comforter! Staff was accommodating.
