Club Waskaduwa is at best a 3* tourist hotel in a poor location, between a very dirty red flag beach and a railway line. Rooms are of average quality having be inadequately maintained, but beds are comfortable. Money wasted on electronic wash-dry toilets which could have been better spent on other in room amenities. Rooms are generally not serviced. Poor selection of low quality buffet food in one restaurant where service is generally poor from inexperienced staff. Many members of our group complained of air conditioning and showers not working, badly stained and broken furnishings. Pool is adequate but unfinished with no service or amenities. Complimentary wifi is offered but is unreliable.

We stayed here for the last 3 nights of our holiday for some relaxation after a busy 2 weeks in Sri Lanka. For the most part, this hotel is excellent. It has a fantastic pool - which we virtually had all to ourselves, large, air con rooms, a great breakfast and the place is kept in a very clean condition. However, a couple of things let it down.Firstly, the dinner buffet is not great. No authentic Sri Lankan food is on offer and the food is not up to a good standard and very pricey. We found some excellent seafood restaurants a short walk from the hotel.Secondly, whilst the majority of the staff are very helpful, I felt that some of the staff at dinner needed to go on a customer service course! One especially was verging on rude.Thirdly, the grouting around the shower tiles, where the wall meets the floor, was looking grubby and needs a good clean. We had a lovely, relaxing stay here, but the above points do need to be addressed.

We stayed here for 20 nights and got to know the hotel and staff pretty well. It is a great place to relax and although the ocean can be a little rough, we managed to swim everyday. Food quality is very good, especially the seafood restaurant. Same prices as local restaurants, but much better quality and hygiene. No need to leave hotel! Only gripe was music by the pool. They play the same CD over and over again. I kept telling them that people would rather listen to the waves and if the want to listen to music they will use headphones. I hope the management take note. Best thing about hotel is the staff. So friendly and helpful.

Excellent hotel and extremely attentive staff for whom nothing is too much trouble

The property is relatively new and is well kept up and maintained. The whole place is very clean, the rooms are very comfortable and the common areas are lovely. All the staff are amazing! Many are multilingual and ALL are very friendly and accommodating.
If you need a quiet and relaxing place, this is the spot for you! We enjoyed our time here although at times, would have liked a bit more action. Due to the fantastic high surf at this area of the beach, water activities are nil. There is also very little in the way of night life.
The buffets for breakfast and evening dining were also very good.
We would definitely come back here!

The Hotel is new and the Staff are great; food is excellent but the hotel still needs to be completed; there is no Gym, the second restaurant is not open. The Hotel offers no day trips or sightseeing visits and does not have the basic things you'd find in any established hotel; like a directory of what is available. A few simple things are lacking; evening buffet is fantastic but tables are laid out with only one Knife & Fork; delicious desserts in a small glass but no spoons to fit inside them.
Needs a little thought and will be a fantastic hotel; just needs to work on the minor details
