This is a high end small resort for discerning travellers who enjoy nature and lovely views in a beautiful village. The beach is a stone throw away. You can never get bored of the incredible views of the ocean, beach and rainforest from the lodges. We loved every minute of it!

A wonderful beach side (across a road) property with amazing views, an excellent restaurant, and very helpful staff.
Beach was lovely, uncrowded and a real laid back friendly Tobago spot!
Would definitely recommend and stay again if we are in Tobago.
Many thanks!

We stayed in Coco Palm which faces Castara village and beach. The living and kitchen area were outdoor and open with great views of the bay and the surrounding greenery and to hear the birds whether you are enjoying your morning coffee or a sun downer. The kitchen is very well equipped, and the room has everything you need and was comfortable. It’s a short walk to the beach for a swim or to enjoy a beer at the local restaurant. There is a small supermarket in the village, where you can find the basics, but best a shop in Scarborough as there are more choices. If you are a coffee drinker, bring your favourite coffee as there is a plunger in the kitchen. There are many steps to get to the room and to the restaurant, which is a good leg exercise, but some might find a bit challenging. The restaurant on site has great food and probably the best rum and raisin ice cream!!! To get around you can either arrange for taxis with Porridge or rent a car to be more independent. The only negative I have would be the noise and very loud music from the village on weekends, which can go from early in the evening to late at night. All in all, we had a great time and would visit again. Porridge or Jeanell were fabulous in helping us get trips organised or if we needed anything. They were so welcoming and warm that it just made everything that much better.

Beautiful with the birds comming and eating at the beatiful terrass. Difficult to find places for eating lunch at low season. We were very disapointed that there were no group sessions in yoga, only very expensive private sessions. We tried even though very expensive, to book a private session for yoga but the teacher missed to show up. There is a need for cleaning and throwing garbage more often. The king bed were two beds that were seperating when laying in the middle. Difficult to get good information about tours. Fantastic wiew over the bay.

Amazing location and great view from Coco Palm, probably the best value for money in the whole retreat, very spacious and private, not overlooked. Porridge was very helpful and Jeanelle was a real star. Castara village gives a unique experience on the island, we wouldn't swop it for anywhere else on Tobago.

Beautifully designed for privacy and eco friendliness in an outstanding location. A very special place so close to nature.

We enjoyed our stay very much, the accommodation gives you everything it promises but if you’re looking for luxury that’s not what it’s about. It really gives you the feeling you’re living in a great tree house! The beautiful local birds are everywhere and often join you for breakfast or at the other times of the day you may be relaxing on the deck or in your open air lounge. The only constructive criticism I would mention is that the restaurant needs to be more consistent, the menu is small and offers good local cuisine, but it does depend upon who’s in the kitchen, we ate there three times, two good and one after recommending certain dishes to friends was disappointing. Just needs that consistency from the kitchen as the staff were all very helpful and friendly.
Final point, if you have trouble with hills and stairs try the get an apartment on the lower levels!
Beautiful location though and Castara and it’s people are lovely and welcoming.

Castera Retreats is an unusual property built on a hillside in the charming village of Castera. Our living and kitchen areas were open to the air so you felt like you were in a treehouse. Every morning the birds came to the feeders hung near each unit and the show was spectacular. Also could watch the guinea pig like agoutis scavenging under the trees, and there was a lusty rooster who greeted the day. There are steep inclines and many steps which some might find daunting. A restaurant on the property served excellent food and the bar is a great place to watch the sunset. Our room, Cocoa Palm, had a woody decor, a simple bathroom, and a well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed a cup of coffee while watching the birds, and were surprised with a wonderful loaf of home baked bread on arrival.

Spacious and unique villa right next to the beach with stunning views of the ocean and sunset. We were lucky enough to have Amar pick us up and give us a first hand tour experience of the island on one of our days there. Would highly recommend a tour with him. We also arrived to a tasty fresh loaf of bread from castaras kitchen and experienced our dinner at the restaurant with stunning views.
