I really wanted to like this hotel. It is quaint and has the perfect location in Onancock. It is also very quiet. But two issues. First I booked a room that said it included a free breakfast. When I inquired about this in the morning, I was told guests get a 15% discount for breakfast. Despite having paperwork indicated that I booked a room with breakfast, they would not honor it. By the way - the cost for an omelette there was $20. Second, there is no staff at the hotel other than at breakfast and dinner. They have a "self check-in" with an envelope that awaits you after you enter with a note inside saying your room is open and the key is in the room. Glad I was traveling with my husband because if I was solo, this would make me uncomfortable. Also, if something goes a bit off-kilter as it did for us during your stay, you need to call an 800 number to have someone help you out. This created headaches for us as we had things to do and had to wait a half hour or so before things got straightened out. So if you feel the price is right given not honoring your booking with breakfast and you aren't worried about no one being on premises, then this might work for you!

I am newly divorced and this was my first mini getaway solo. I was so excited about staying here for a night. Sadly when I arrived there was no staff and the restaurant and bar were closed and blocked off. I was able to call the manager but sadly she wasn’t even informed of the restaurant and bar being shut down and no staff on site. One of the biggest excitements was being able to enjoy the amenities but there were none.

It was quaint and adorable! From the front entrance to your room- full a charm. Close to shops & an easy walk to the Inlet! Will definitely come back- as well as recommend to my friends!!!

The entire place reeked of mold, I alerted the staff that I was going to be coming in at 9, they left a note saying the room was unlocked. It was locked. Tried the afterhours number but they could not get in touch with the innkeeper. Left my number with the hotel and drove an hour away to find a place to stay for the night; never got an apology or even a contact. What a horrible, horrible little place

Loved that it was an old hotel. The restaurant was great and loved the bar

We had king size bed room 325. Great room with 4 windows, good size and great bed and shower. Highly recommend. Great neighborhood.
Recommend Mallards on the pier for dinner.
Nice wine and cheese shop next door.
Very quaint town.
Breakfast was excellent but...supposed to open at 800--did not open to 815 and we did not get served to 845 even though we were the only diners.

Lovely upscale hotel/B&B in the quiet, waterfront town of Onancock. Their restaurant served delicious meals & unique cocktails. The staff, especially the manager, Cheyenne, were gracious & accommodating. I’ll be back!

The toilet flushing mechanism was broken. Despite telling the staff and sending an email to management, we got no response. I was told when we discovered the problem immediately after checking in, we were told there were no other rooms available. When we left this morning, the maid said it had been broken when she cleaned yesterday and the repairman hadn’t shown up.
There was other small problems it nothing was couldn’t have lived with.

Quaint property with the feeling of a European B&B. Onancock is very charming too.

The property centrally located to shopping cans food and entertainment. Property is well maintained and clean.
I disliked climbing the two sets of fifteen stairs to our room on the third floor.
Overall enjoyed the stay all will recommend it.

It was a quaint hotel.

Rooms and hotel terribly outdated. Site lists free breakfast, which is not the case. Did not end up staying the second night due to extremely poor customer service. Definitely would not recommend.

A unique historic property in a cute small town. Not good for mobility issues but a nice experience

Perfect location and the hotel was clean! I like the early check in feature as well. Our only problem was we were told we didn't need to make reservations for the restaurant on site. So at 6 we came down to eat and they said due to short staff they are only taking the reservations on the books and that was it. I was shocked that they wouldn't even seat or serve the hotel guests. I understand they were understaffed and was possibly a rare occurrence but it was the main reason I choose this hotel due to them having a bar/ restaurant so I was a little disappointed in that. I would still definitely recommend and stay here again.

The property is in the heart of Onancock and very walkable. Self checkin was easy. The property is historic. It could use a bit of fresh paint on the exterior.

Very enjoyable stay! It’s our 2nd time here and it’s just as good or better than our fall visit. It completely matches our desired experience: quality without the fuss. Dining at the Charlotte is excellent! A real chef in that kitchen!! Highly recommend the full experience of pulling in, unloading and getting a delicious meal with quality beverages after a day of traveling. Rooms are historic styled with very comfy beds. Super clean property! We will be back our next trip through the area. Many thanks to Cheyenne the hotel manager for her hospitality and delivery of a quality experience from start to finish.

I found this hotel to be exactly what I expected. A quaint charming Bed and Breakfast style boutique hotel in downtown Onancock.
The room was clean, comfortable and while it was small, that is what you expect for a Bed and Breakfast style hotel.
Free parking on the street, wifi works perfect, a few restaurants across the street.
I'll be back

This was such a quaint hotel. I’m sorry I couldn’t stay longer. The bed was so comfortable and I slept like a baby.

What a wonderful, quant, clean hotel. Had the cutest bar and wonderful breakfast!

Upscale classic Hotel.

The hotel is lovely and most is the staff could not be more accommodating . The room was bright and welcoming with charming touches. The only issue I had was there is no elevator and on ground floor rooms. I am slightly disabled and walking up 2 flights of narrow, semi-steep staris was difficult and kept me from getting out as much as I would have liked.
2.5
People and food were excellent. Rooms were good but what needs to be stated is that there is no elevator. However it does have a stair chair for lighter people.

Nice place , friendly, clean ! However the so called continental breakfast was just coffee!

This place is so beautiful. Cheyenne was such a helpful lady. She was our server at dinner and was also there for breakfast. She helped us with a day trip plans. Brianna was bright and cheerful and Caleb. The bartender made magnificent drinks. All three of the ladies that we interacted with. We’re very fun and knowledgeable they made you feel like family.

Charming hotel. Friendly staff. Good location, close to shops, restaurants and the water. Clean, comfy rooms. Be sure to eat at the restaurant as it's the nicest in town.

Wonderful stay. Bed was comfortable, room was nice and spacious, bathroom was very clean and roomy as well. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Loved the restaurant and convenient to shops. Not happy about walking up three flights of stairs to get to room.

I was totally thrilled with the Charlotte, but that said I know it’s not for everyone. I loved the “classic feel” and the quaint small town charm. The room was everything we expected it to be. It was very clean and all of the essentials like hot water and a/c were in great working order. The restaurant was not open the night we were there, but fortunately we had reservations elsewhere. If you are looking for a small charming hotel this is absolutely a place you will enjoy!
