Nicer than I expected. Nice outside sitting area by the river, would be lovely in summer. The room was nice and well fitted out. I’d definitely use again

Not as nice as I was expecting. My view was over the car park. The manager pointed out that Expedia customers need to stipulate if they want a river view. For £145 I thought I’d get one but he said that was cheap for Exeter. Other observations:
Not double glazed - just an extra piece of glass that didn’t cover the whole window.
Wifi insecure
Parking - no notification that there was private parking for guests, which is important I think, as I parked in the crowded pub car park.
Multiple power outages
Toilet flush issues
Given wrong wine. French sav said was given but second waiter said hadn’t had for ages. Staff seemed a little clueless.

Breakfast menu not very clear or priced showing juice/ tea coffee were extra but food itself was good. Continental breakfast poor if later than 9am.. maybe very hungry clients ate most of it early. Situation on river with gardens excellent. Overall a pleasant place to stay.

Really enjoyed our stay.
Olivia, in the restaurant, made us feel very welcome and was very attentive. Lovely food.
Reception staff could be more welcoming.

Mill on the Exe is a lovely pub and hotel … very quaint but lovely rooms. The only problem was that the bed was surprisingly small in length…. It was wide enough as a King Bed should be…. But not long enough.

A good Riverside Hotel/pub
Direct access to Riverside footpath and cycleway, quite close to, but a bit of a climb to walk into the main town of Exeter

Lovely local walks and waterside location

The location is great. Our room was lovely comfortable & clean. Our bathroom shower door was damaged so it was difficult to adjust the temperature of the water without soaking the floor. The shower head needed descaling too as the water was spraying everywhere. There were no tables for dinner so we had to go into Exeter to find somewhere to eat. The car park was full so my other half was unable to park until we came back later after dinner. staff were all very young and didn't engage with guests. It used to be a lot friendlier here during our previous visits.

The situation is ideal. On the river by the weir and walkable into the city centre. The room had a wonderful view out over the river and we were fortunate that the weather was such that we could enjoy it.. Both the room and the bathroom were of a generous size; felt spacious. However, the experience could be improved by attention to detail. At some point a notice had been affixed to the wall and its removal had damaged the decor which had not then been repaired. The large bathroom was heated by a puny radiator. Not nearly big enough to heat the room nor to hang towels. Strangely there was no towel rail nor shelf by the wash basin. Further, among the toiletries there was no body lotion and no shower hat. This latter was essential given that the over bath shower head is fixed at ceiling height. The major facility missing in the bedroom was a fridge. An appliance provided in almost all hotel rooms these days. There was no lack of space to install one. We ate dinner in the restaurant on our second night. The food was well presented, portions generous and very good value for money. In summary, something of a curate's egg.

Easy, comfortable and friendly staff. Access is great for the city centre and own car park is fantastic. Didn’t get chance to eat but food looked delicious. Would highly recommend.

Location next to the river was great

The hotel is in a good location. The rooms were very spacious and had everything needed. I wasn't keen on the waterfall shower as I didn't want to wash my hair but that wasn't a deal breaker. Good breakfast in a very lovely restaurant at an extra cost.

Description of Suite a fraction misleading. It was semi basement subsequently rather dark. The 'Juliet Balcony' was a Patio which reminded me of a Prison exercise yard with a high unsightly glass and metal screen (I've not been in prison!!) There really was no view of the river as too far away and view blocked by overgrown weeds, bushes and trees as outside garden not in use, which we are disappointed to not have known about.

A wonderful stay in a unique spot right on the river. A short (but steep) walk into the city centre, and a riverside walk to the Quay and a variety of bars and restaurants.
Our room was excellent, breakfast good.

The location was lovely right next to the river Exe in an old water powered paper mill overlooking a weir. The staff were attentive even though they were very busy. My room was spacious and clean with a modern bathroom and great shower with a beautiful view of the river.
After driving three hundred miles that day the large comfortable bed was a very welcome place to be....I slept like a log and hardly moved. In the room the coffee and tea making facilities were very good also supplied with nice biscuits and a nespresso machine.
Breakfast was also very good and cooked to order and delivered by friendly staff.
I'd definitely stay here again in the near future!

The room was lovely with a river view, the downside was it was very hot but they supplied a good quality fan.
A major issue was no WiFi (as we run a business we ideally needed to check/respond to emails) which when reported the staff said it was a technical problem which was being reported.
The stay was overall very pleasant.
