Kept up all night by people coming in and out of the room. People were throwing up loudly and going in an out of the bathroom to throw up all throughout the night. Reception did not care and made us pay for the second night even though we checked out after the first night for this reason.

Surprisingly roomy! I thought it might be claustrophobic, but this capsule design is full-height, and the width of a twin bed.
The bed converts to a sofa, and you control the lighting and bed position using a tablet.
Free beer at 16:30-18:30, free breakfast, full kitchen, washer and dryer make it very convenient. Staff were super helpful. I would stay again.
I didn’t hear any noise or talking from people in nearby capsules despite being Saturday night.
The only downside was that my capsule was next to the elevator which was a bit noisy at night.

Unfortunately I would not go back here or recommend it. I barely slept for 4 nights. And it was quite expensive. A lot of noice from other hotel guests. I am sure it is very safe. But I felt unsafe. I wish the sliding «door» would have had a little lock or something like that. It is on the positive side very clean, modern, high standard estetically.

I had a lovely stay in Millennials Kyoto.
Great spot for solo travel. Nicely located!
The rooftop need to be renovated or changed somehow. It was depressing.
Don’t forget to spend time in the bazar behind the hotel.

Bed was as expected small, but they made most efficient use of space as possible. Note it can feel a bit claustrophobic if trying to pack/manage items in your luggage

I love the free beer for one hour. The lobby was spacious and perfect for socializing. This hotel provided items like pajamas, towels, etc. for a small fee or no charge! It’s always a great time when I stay at The Millennials.

This is my all time favourite hostel. Everything is sophisticated, modern, clean, functional and spacious.
My Shinkansen was cancelled due to the typhoon and I needed to get back to Tokyo. The staff spent around 3-4 hours trying to help me and others work out a way to travel. They were amazing and so friendly.
This place goes above and beyond.
Absolutely fabulous!!!

First time staying in a “capsule” hotel. I say “capsule” in quotations because it felt more high end and the space was big enough that I could stand on the bed (I stayed in one of the theater pods) not sure what the other pods look like but I had a nice sized bed and again, a lot of space. The only negative thing (but this is with all capsule hotels) is I wish you could lock your individual spaces. Fortunately nothing got stolen and they do have cameras everywhere but I think for piece of mind while you’re out exploring it would be nice if you could lock up your individual space

Best hostel I’ve ever stayed in. It is sophisticated, modern, functional, well set out and amenities are on point. Reception area and staff are fabulous, with comfortable lounge areas. Adjoining kitchen/dining area is modern and wonderfully equipped with a free coffee machine, kettle, mini oven, microwave and 2 stove tops. The system work’s immaculately and everything is clean. Free beer for happy hour.
The sleep pod is large and cosy. The width is around 1.5m and 2m in length. There is adequate storage under the bed via a pull out drawer. There is a long mirror at the end of the bed, 2 hangers and a hook. The bed and lights are controlled by an iPad. The bed transforms quietly into a sofa with the touch of a button, but can also be adjusted to suit your preference. 2 comfortable pillows are provided. Mattress is a touch soft from use but I’ve certainly had worse. The privacy blind can be lowered to the floor or wherever you like.
Showers are fabulous and mostly clean, with sinks and hairdryers at each basin. A washer and dryer can be used for around 500¥ total. The toilets are separate with their own basins, and can get a little wet but I love that there are paper towels for drying hands. Would be great to have steriliser in the toilets to clean the seats before use.
The amenity bag has towels, toothbrush, hairbrush, slippers, tissues, razor, etc free of charge.
The Millennials bridges hostel to hotel. 5 stars for aesthetics and thoughtful design.

Situated right on a main strip, there is no shortage of food or shopping options. Community spaces were functional.
I would bother buying the breakfast next time, given the cost and the amount of options outside. Coffee machine could be improved. Very weak!
Washing machine and dryer worked well and the shower was lovely. My pod was almost completely quiet at night. I appreciated everyone sticking to the rules. These capsules are bigger than most. I appreciated being able to stand up. Luggage is stored directly under the bed and there is a small safe for valuables. I never felt unsafe, but there’s only a scroll down curtain between your space and everyone else.
I stayed for 2 nights and just scrolled down the curtains to leave… but it’s not a “lock up”.
Free beer between 5:30 and 6:30 was a nice touch and people did mingle. I’m 50 and felt out of place. Yes I am generation X and the place was clearly full of millennials.. hence the name …
I had a work call at 10pm, with African and Canada time zones and was able to use a private booth for the call.. which I appreciated. They have a rate for digital nomads for 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month etc… so there was a “work room”, a meeting room plus 3 private booths for calls.

Great location! Block away from the river which was so beautiful and peaceful especially first thing in the morning, close lots of shopping and restaurants, as well as the Gion district. The bed was so comfy and adjustable!

The best stay ever in Kyoto! The location is in the heart of city, no matter walk or bus or train it’s really very convenience. The staff are nice and speaking in English with fluence sentences. Chill lounge and free to stay and meet new friends there. The bed is clean and tidy. High recommended.

Like a capsule hotel for high maintenance people— the beds were so comfortable and were controlled by an iPod for switching between flat bed and sofa form affording maximizing the pod space & comfortability.

"In total, it was not bad. This was the first time that I stayed at a hostel. For me, washing dishes was annoying. Besides, it could be noisy in the morning or late at night; you can hear everything, which is why I was using my earplugs all the time. The staff were nice, but it was still very exhausting that they couldn't speak English.

Excellent location. Very conveniently located, new and clean. My only thing is that it was extra 1,000 for cleaning your pod. I stayed 4 nights so I would recommend include it every 3 nights or something.

Was apprehensive about staying in a capsule hotel, The Millennial changed this. I loved the ipod managed units especially the bed to sofa function, projector and the individual fans. Guests were very respectful and quiet at night so slept well. From checking in to out, staff were lovely and couldn't be more helpful. Free tea and coffee, beer and snacks in the evening, fully equipped kitchen, beautiful communal areas, books and other thoughtful little details all contributed to a wonderful stay in Kyoto. Also, the location is perfect for visiting the sights and shopping. Like many before me, I've fallen in love with Japan and its people.

I don’t usually stay in hostels, but this was a great experience. The beds were really comfortable and felt private. The airflow lacked a little when the curtain was closed though, even with a fan built in.
The bathrooms and showers were always clean and I never felt gross using a shared space.
The communal aspect of the lobby area combined with a daily happy hour really enhanced the experience if you enjoy meeting others traveling. It was a great way to share tips and recs.

Great place to stay as a capsule hotel. The spaces to sleep are large and you can control the lights, fan and recliner bed from an iPod on the wall. Bathrooms are clean and tidy. The common area is large and welcoming and has a lot of places to chill out. The phone booths were very helpful as well.
Overall the place is very modern and has a great atmosphere.
The hotel is right next to the Teramachi strip malls and is overall in a great location for public transport and exploration.
I would definitely book here again

The location is very convenient and it’s surrounded by many different restaurants, drugstore, convenience stores and even shopping malls. I will recommend people who want to try capsule hotel but at the same time want more privacy choosing this place for accommodations.

This place is great. A small complaint. Someone should be loading the body wash more often. Finding it empty .... ughhh
It was quiet. I love the "bed alarm" system. A great space!

The property fits your basic needs. My wife and I had enough room w/ four pieces of luggage. The staff is excellent and very walkable to Dontonbori and all the other bars and restaurants. I would have given it a 5, but the rooftop bar was closed during my stay, so I only know some of the hotel offers.
It is a great place and has a reasonable price. I would recommend it.

It was my first solo trip in Japan-Kyoto. Staff very friendly, understanding and professionnal. I highly recommend.
