We ordered two nights here, but stayed only one. We had a small room with bunkbeds. It was very cold in the evening and night and we only got some thin, synthetic blankets with no cover. Very low standard of clinliness. The hostess had a little boy, who was left alone most of the time, spilling milk and peeing on the floor, and it was not cleaned.

Batad Rice Terraces is a must see, but have to be physically fit for it is very steep, high, narrow and very very long walk. But once you overcome the almost 1 hour walk with rest, it is worth to see the place. Definitely, get a guide and a stick to go with you. The owner of the place gave an excellent service.

Irene did a great job accommodating our needs and showing us hospitality. I liked Transient house because it seems the best balance between all criteria - value, service... but also elevation: it is located high enuf to give great views but not too far from valley/ village. We got to go to a wedding while we were here. Very cool!

The balcony is cool. But the room, toilet and everywhere else don’t seem clean at all.

Batad Transient Home has a truly breathtaking view over the rice terraces of Batad - i loved staying there. The rooms are simple and clean, the host is really nice and helpful - food & drinks were fine too. Remember that you're in the middle of nature there and that no road leads all the way to the houses/homestays of batad - when you consider this, it is truly amazing how all things - food, drinks etc are carried there by foot to make it an awesome stay for guests.

This homestay has the most jaw-dropping, spectacular view of the Batad rice terraces from its restaurant! This placed offered basic accommodations, so do not expect too much in that regard. Thy have one restaurant with about 4-5 tables that you can hang at and 2 communal bathrooms/showers. You will probably get all your meals at this place; they are very good! They have Filipino food and American food. Make sure to place your order for meals ahead of time, otherwise you may be waiting longer than expected. We stayed in the "Nipa hut", which had its own outdoor toilet/cold shower nearby. It got kind of cold at night, so you may want to request more blankets. The way to flush the toilets is to pour water down.
Irene, who checked us in, was very nice and we hired her mom as a tour guide for a roundtrip hike through the beautiful rice terraces to the Tappiyah waterfalls. Definitely recommend; she didn’t speak much English, but she was patient and an expert at navigating.
For check-in: we arrived around 4pm and it seemed that there was no one to check us in at the desk. An employee saw our group and informed us that someone would be with us soon. We were fine to wait around and admire the view; be patient with service :)
Getting there was a 20-30 minute track downhill on a narrow path and steep steps from the Saddle. Definitely not for the faint of heart. I'd recommend packing light and use only a large/ backpacker's backpack! Thanks Irene and family, we had a wonderful time!

Batad Transient House was a great stay. My family staid in the nipa hut, which was a new experience that none of us ever had. The view from the transient house was spectacular. It’s so peaceful and breath taking. I love that there are no vehicles or machinery.
The staff are wonderful. They make you feel welcome and comfortable. The food is great. The grilled chicken and rice is out of this world. The rice is from the batad terraces, and only for consumption in the village. It tastes great.
Faith was our tour guide through rice terraces. She was wonderful and patient with us. She gave an excellent tour. The tour is also breathtaking with the views, and physical breath taking too.
We highly recommend the Batad Transient House house and batad. Be advised that it is very physical but worth the time energy and sweat.

Wifes trip with 3 friends and relatives, incredible view, warm hospitality, excellent food, great value for the money; recommend booking weeks or months ahead, as accommodations fill quickly, especially at peak tourist seasons.

Near the mountain view and rice terraces. Affordable food and its good for two.
Easy access to Tappiya falls. (2 hrs trek & vice versa)
Overnight stay is a must to feel the perfect silence of the night with nature.
Batad Rice Terraces is a place that all people must see and experience before they retire.

This is the best place in Batad. Owner is super hospitable and can help with everything you need in the town.
If I am coming back to Batad I will stay here. The kitchen is very good, and the view from the terrance is splendid.
I have a couple of minor suggestions in order to make the stay more comfortable for the guests:
Some reviews comment about the bathroom - I dont understand why because it is quite good bathroom. The only problem with it is that the floor is wrongly constructed, and the floor tiles do not have the correct slope towards the drain, which makes a pool of water collected on the floor as it is combined toilet/shower. It would therefore be very nice to have a floor wiper in there to get rid of excess floor water. Also, you dont walk with shoes on the terrace. For guests who like to use socks, it is very incompatible with the wet toilet floor. Please put some communal plastic sandals outside the toilet which you can bstep into when going bathroom. Then this place is truly perfect.

Transient House has an amzing spot facing the rices terrasses. This is tough to get there and difficult to find the location as the hotel do not have any indication, but the villagers around are always open to help. The host was very nice and treat us very well. Do not expect to have Wifi or connection as this is based in the middle of the nowhere, the wifi isn't able in Batad. In term of food, they do not have everything as it shows in the menus, this will depend of the season (fishes, fruits or vegetable), you'll just need to adapt their situation. The room are ok, you'll find only the beds not other things, I believe they should invest more on this by adding a mirror for example or wardrobes or providing towels. The bathrooms are for sharing but are clean at all the times. Globally, we had a very good times there, this is very peaceful and for the quality of prices this is definitely recommendable.

Love the owners of the place. They are so sweet and helpful. Also the rooms were basic but thats enough. A bit disappointed by the comfort room as it was a bit dirty and the water ran out. But I guess thats normal in Batad and wouldnt have expected anything else. Would recommend this place to others.

We enjoyed the scenery of the rice terraces from the inn. Although we did not trekked down to the fall near by, we had a relaxing timeThe trip to Batad was somewhat scary because of the road condition. There was steep steps to walk down to the inn.

We were convinced to book this place because of rave reviews posted here .Unfortunately, the previous reviews seemed far from the truth. There was only one bathroom shared by five rooms. There was not even a hook or rack to hang your clothes in either bedroom or toilet! The curtain and the rod in our room just fell on my head after a mild wind gust. The sheets looked and smelled like they were used by a previous occupant. Worst, the staff was caught a few times throwing garbage right outside the porch and into the front of the property where guests would gaze for a view of the terraces. Trekking around, one sees a lot of garbage strewn everywhere. How sad. The Bontoc and Sagada terraces are far more preserved, more actively used and far more pristine and picturesque.
A group of European guests ordered grilled chicken; They were asked to grill the meat themselves in an electric grill that wont work! How embarrassing. We saw their faces drop from disappointment and hunger. We ordered at 10 AM for an 1130 lunch which was served at 1 PM! Service and flavor were better in the homey restaurant just two minutes away.

It was an alright stay. However the owner was pushy on us having a tour guide despite it being relatively easy to find your own way around with simple instructions she could have easily given. Also On the way down to the place we stopped for lunch at a home stay that we passed on the way down. When we arrived the owner got upset we didnt eat at their place for lunch. I feel like if youre not spending money at their hotel for breakfast lunch and dinner they get upset. I was a bit put off by this. Also we were made to check out at 10 AM not by the owner but another lady even though it said noon is check out. Also on second day found mouse feces on bed sheet. Also watch out for young peeping boys who watch you when using the toilet.
