their food is good but very expensive. The coffee taste ok, clean toilet bowl and seat but with leaking pipe on the side so the floor has always puddles of water
1. The bottom landing of the stairway is full of clutter like small cabinet, umbrellas and on the first step is a suitcase that partially obstructs the stairway and its on the side where there is a handrailing; on the upper landing is another obstruction: a wood lounge chair. so when you are going down you are to balance yourself to reach for the handrail of the steps, very dangerous and fire hazard as it's the only way up or down the 2nd floor; 2. their bathroom side has no door only curtains, so if you are traveling with friends you have to ask your friends to leave the room while you bath; 3. the Toilet pipe is leaking so you always have paddles of water which make the floor very slippery and hazardous, we asked for a mop and told them the problem, they gave us a mop instead of their housekeeping would clean up the puddle of water!; 4. there was a brown-out for like more than 8 hours that evening; their generator is not enough to power the electric fan (our room was freaking hot as there was no window at all) and to charge our cellphones. it was so an underpowered gen set!; 5. they did not provide us bath towels nor soap or shampoo. NO AMENITIES AT ALL AND THE PRICE IS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE OTHER HOTELS IN THE AREA! It is not worth your money to stay here in Sunrise Guest Hotel.

Staff were quick to respond, courteous.
We were suppose to stay 2 nights but only stayed 1 night. If Banaue was near our next stop, we wouldn't have stayed there at all. The bathroom exuded of poop but the floor was clean, we did not take a shower at all, we had to close the bathroom door to be able to sleep. The sleeping area was quite clean, didn't see any pest (cockroaches). Since it is by the roadside, the polution was unbearable. There was a piggery below the homestay which was another polution. Unbearable!!! We recommend never to stay in any of those homestays.

Great spot to stay in Banaue. The views from the lobby and balcony areas are amazing. Room was good, clean and comfortable.

Location was good and easy to find. Quiet area since not on center. Nice morning views.
It’s a budget accommodation so don’t expect first class facilities. Have to carry luggage up the stairs. Water pressure is low so better to use buckets for shower. There is water heater.

The owners were brilliant so welcoming and they arranged someone to get us and take us back to the bus station and we arrived at 5 am and they were up to greet us and let us check in very early which was so kind, they had a tour guide organised to recommend us trips for our stay which we booked and he was brilliant so helpful and we had 2 amazing days here, the place is clean, comfy and the restaurant serves delicious food which we had everyday, to make it even better the views from the balcony areas were incredible and we got to enjoy a stunning sunrise, we would definitely recommend staying here!

Staff very nice and polite
The room was not ready when we arrived at 5pm. Very noisy room, the toilet has no door and the water in the shower kept on flushing the whole night.

I was recovering from the pollution I had swallowed in Manila so I was not feeling great when I arrived so I took it easy and rested. The weather was cloudy with showers and it was cool. I asked for more blankets and was given them. The menu was basic but nutritious and Mae, the lady boss was as helpful as she could. I had a family room, up on the top Room 402. View through the window in my room was good as was, of course from the balcony beside the room. It faced almost due east so an early rise to watch the sunrise is worth it. That reminds me, the best views of the rice terraces are in the afternoon so leave your photography until then for the best results. If short of time or you are, like me, not in any state to trek long distances and you want to see and get a ‘feel’ for the terraces, get a trike or walk 3-4 kms up the road as there are at least three viewpoints worth a stop just to take in the views. Fortunately the day I departed was sunny for the first time since I had arrived so I did just that and the memory of the terraces, built around 2000BC will remain with you. They were carved from the top down and restoration work is being done to maintain them for degrading. One last point. If you can afford it, Banaue Guest House can be reached by flying CebuPacific to Cauayan Airport, about $102 and a 40 minute flight. Then by a car ( you can arrange a car through the guest house) direct to the guest house for 6000 pesos. Expensive perhaps, but it is approx a 3.5 hrs drive for the car to meet you at the airport. Remember the driver has to drive to meet you on time and then return. When I departed, I hired the driver again to take me over the mountains to the west coast and Vigin. That cost 8000 pesos. If you are a couple the cost would seem far more reasonable. I am in my mid 60’s and I have done the ‘walking 10 kms to save some dollars bit”.Time for a bit of comfort and convenience.
The Guest House is great for a base but it does have its flaws. First, the room walls, at least where I slept, were not thick and hence noise did carry from neighbours doings. Bring earplugs! The sink in the bathroom required some manual dexterity to turn on and off or maybe I just have big hands! Being of the old times when travellers had no mobile phones to stare at or iPads to ‘ipad’ travellers used to chat to each other about the day’s experiences. This did not occur. It could be me of course and the fact I wore slippers in the ‘dining room’. Who knows? But those days of not being connected to the world 24/7 are long gone and so has, I feel, that sense of adventure of being in a foreign land alone, where resilience, openness and Initiative were qualities that were certainly forced upon you and character building.

Good location, spectacular view, nice cafe in the venue, breakfast was also pretty good.
Low water pressure in the shower and the coffee was not the best to say the least, but those were minor issues, didn’t really affect the overall experience.

As we arrived early we managed to select a triple bedroom facing the town (not the street). Comfortable room and bed. Large washroom; Very friendly and accommodating staff; The guesthouse's restaurant was very good and convenient. We had all our 3 day meals there.
Continuous water dripping from shower head. Weak wifi.
