All fine, the Receptionist was very friendly and professional, a definite asset to the hotel. She had excellent taste in music too. There should be a better choice of wine behind the bar but apart from that, all good.

Lovely hotel in the middle of town, easy to access, only problem was the bathroom sink if you put it on full power will get soak but everything else was perfect

This hotel needs to update its website to give parking and access directions. Google maps gives directions to the middle of a block, behind the visible buildings. We had to park and walk to hotel just to ask how and where to park. The bat staff were lovely and very helpful. That night during our stay, the rains bucketed down and parts of the hotel started flooding. The bar and front desk person (the same person) had to leave and try to handle the flood until the owner came. The hotel is a warren of passages that is fairly confusing. Our room had chipped paint, a very uncomfortable bed, and zero ventilation. The beds need to be replaced and fans need to be in every room. The breakfast the next day was passable but we will not be back.

A wonderful location and very nice rooms. The facility was very clean and the breakfast was lovely. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Quaint little hotel with a small restaurant attached to it. Right downtown and close to all the cites.

Great location, and overall good property. Dining on site was not very accessible, and parking was tough. But overall a good one night stay visit.

The hotel is much older than it looks in the photos. We had a bit of a plumbing issue as the shower drain was clogged. Really strange layout. We had to go through 9 doors and 1 1/2 flights of stairs to get from the lobby to our room. Also, check the GPS, cara can’t drive on the actual street the front entrance is on.

Enjoyed our one night stay and both rooms were very comfortable and clean. It was a great location and breakfast was very good. We enjoyed the wide selection we had to choose from.

All the staff were brilliant, just wanted to say the evening barman Jack was really friendly we had a great chat about football! Breakfast was really nice too.

We liked the location. But a few things let the hotel down. You are only allowed one beverage drink with your breakfast. They charge for top ups. There was no mirror in the room to dry your hair. The toilet didn’t flush unless you pumped it. During the day you have to pay for parking and you can only stay two hours.

We loved our stay here at Friars Wynd! The bistro downstairs is cute and charming on top of having tasty food and cakes. Service was excellent. Our room provided a quiet, restful, comfortable stay after a long day of travel. Our only suggestions, which are minor: 1) individual plastic toiletry bottles are wasteful; a bulk dispenser would be preferred. 2) And while it was very nice of them to provide bottled water in the room, instead they could have a sign saying that Scotland’s tap water is very clean and safe to drink, and encourage guests to refill reusable bottles instead.
Overall, we loved this hotel and would definitely come back.

I thought the location was excellent and the staff was fab but the property itself leaves a lot to be desired for the cost. The sink was maybe 12 x 16 in if that. The shower is so tiny and the doors so inconvenient you can’t turn it on without actually being inside. The restaurant dumps all their glassware into the bin at 12:30 am. There is no parking close by so not easy for anyone disabled or injured. If you don’t mind bare bones, shabby decor, a rabbit warn of heavy doors, lots of stairs, no help with bags, a teeny tiny bathroom and no parking this place is for you.

Beautiful boutique hotel. The room was beautiful and very clean. Only downside was I requested a twin room as I was with my 84 yr old mother. The only twin room on the top floor and the lift was out of order. It was a real struggle for her to get up to the room.

We stayed in the Bute room. It was comfortable (the mattress is a bit on the firm side but still comfortable) and fairly clean (a bit of dust and a bug in the bathroom). The only issue was the noise from glass bottles being emptied into the bins periodically. The last time was about 10:30pm which I think is a bit late, then again around 8am (Sunday morning). The breakfast was good enough, though you have to pick a specific time the night before. We would stay here again.

A tad disappointing - our room was not serviced during our 2 night stay. This meant that on our return on night 2 we had no tea or coffee and no loo roll. Our full scottish breakfast was not that great either. However the room was cosy and clean.

The room was beautiful and clean. Fantastic shower! The front staff were super helpful with some pretty random questions! I got the best sleep of my vacation at this lovely hotel

This is a lovely boutique hotel in the center of town, so it's highly walkable. Everyone was super nice and helpful. The breakfast was excellent, as was the Sunday dinner we tried. The only thing that was a little challenging is that it's set up as a bit of a maze of hallways to get to your room. We figured it out, but it was a bit confusing. It didn't detract from all the good things about this little hotel. We'd gladly stay here again.

Lovely old hotel with fantastic staff & food. Great breakfasts…get the full Scottish. Great Sunday roast dinner. Housekeeping a bit unreliable. No lift. Right in the heart of Stirling.

We stayed for four nights over the early May bank holiday weekend. Friendly welcome on arrival, shown to our room, lovely boutique style hotel. All facilities we needed. Clean & tidy. Great breakfasts which were extra, but well worth the extra payment, great choice of food. We also ate in two evenings, the food & menu choice were very good. We would certainly stay again.

Good value hotel for central Stirling.
Delayed check in due to only one member of staff, busy with several guests AND serving food & drinks.
Parking is only free overnight (pay from 08.45) and is not private, being a public car park.
Access from car park with luggage down several flights of stairs to Reception (in cafe) disappointed most guests who then had to carry back upstairs to the bedrooms (especially the Americans asking for 'the elevator'!)

The staff at Friar's Wynd are their best asset. Everyone we interacted with from the guy at the front desk, to the woman who served our breakfast was very helpful and friendly. The hotel is charming with it's multiple staircases and hallways. I felt like the only thing missing was the family clock to make it the perfect Burrow. The room could use a little refresh, but it was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and freshly renovated.I whole-heartedly recommend Friars Wynd to anyone seeking accommodations in Stirling, our favorite town in Scotland.

Although the bed was comfortable and seemed generally clean, the room was nothing like the image. It contained jaded furniture, the toilet had crusted elements in the bowl, and the window had to remain closed all night due to the noise coming from the street into the early morning. The breakfast was inefficiently prepared and different staff had different ideas on how to do it! A small example: the first morning we eventually got a teapot each once the server finally got the large coffee machine to dispense hot water (after 25 minutes - what's wrong with an electric kettle?) and then we had to ask for milk, etc after waiting a further ten minutes for them. On the second morning, a different server gave us two cups of tepid water with a tea bag on the side! The food was over-cooked, tasteless and dry. On our first morning, when I asked if we could sit anywhere we were told yes, but when we went to sit down we were directed to a specific table (the smallest one near the doorway). Then as more people came down for breakfast, they were able to sit wherever they liked, including the table we had been initially about to sit at (none of the tables was reserved)! A delivery driver arrived and the door was kept wide open causing us - and our breakfast - to rapidly cool down in the strong cold breeze. This was an expensive room and definitely not good value for money.

Great breakfast and staff. Just on the fringe area, though. Not an area i would want to stay at alone. Parking is a real issue...facility should work out a parking arrangement for their guests or help them.be better prepared to be avle to pay behind the facility. Parking inly accepts coins and the pay machine required app does not work for out of country (or maybe it is with rental cars?) accounts. Overall, good experience, though.
