Hey 4 day visit…. Lovely town hotel great and fabulous views
2.5 / 5.0
Best hotel by far we have stayed in over many years of touring Europe. Good sized bedroom plus another room with sofa etc.! And a direct view of the sea out of both rooms. Hotel full of character, plus areas, including a large balcony, on first floor to sit with view of sea. Reception staff very helpful. Worth making a significant detour to stay in this hotel - attractive town has good range of restaurants etc.

We had an amazing sea view from our room and spent time on the outdoor, shared balcony. Breakfast was good and location excellent. Highly recommend.

Stunning sea view. For those travelling with a dog: no dog facilities in the room (bed, bowl) but they are allowed in the breakfast room.

I booked a room on a Monday evening, deciding on a last minute overnight trip to Getaria on Tuesday morning. The rooms looked nice online, but that's what the internet is about: making everything look nice even if it's not. The hotel and room exceeded expectations in every way. My room had a panoramic ocean view that was simply stunning. To make it even better, the refrigerator was stocked with a variety of Basque beer. When I first arrived, I didn't want to leave the room but would have been happy with that view while enjoying local beer. But I did get out and the Saiaz was close to everything in town. Highly reommended.

What a beautiful hotel in a picturesque beach town! Splurge to get a room with a view!
Staff was amazing and friendly! Breakfast was delicious-coffee, breads, cheese, sausage, fruit, and tortilla. We walked into town to enjoy fresh grilled seafood. 15th century building with so much character! Would stay again !

Beautiful old town facing room with views of church and peek-a-boo ocean. Friendly staff, clean, spacious room WITH AC(hard to find).
Bar open most of time and we loved having coffee on ocean-facing terrace that is open to all guests. I could sit there for hours and watch the ocean. A few common rooms with living room style and desk and fashion books with beautiful photos of Balenciaga clothing, as he was from Getaria.
Walkability is 100! In old town. Easy parking below in port. I will be back!

This is a wonderful boutique hotel in the center of Getaria. The hosts are very helpful. Breakfast is served in a wonderful room overlooking the coastline. There is a small public balcony sharing that same view. The room was well-appointed and quite wonderful. An excellent place to stay!

Be sure to pay a little more for the view and to sleep to the sound of the waves crashing! Amazing place.

We stayed here overnight during our drive through the Basque coast. The hotel was lovely and views from the room were amazing. However, during a rainy April day there was little to do in the village and it could be worth considering a stay in the neighboring Zarautz instead.

Lovely hotel in a lovely little town. The hotel room was spacious, clean and comfortable.

Great seaview from the hotel, but rooms are very small and hotel is located on a cobble-stoned street that requires an uphill climb from parking. Staff is very friendly and helpful!

We stayed one night on the way to Biarritz. The hotel in in one of the narrow historic lanes in the old part of town and has a stunning view over the bay. The room was comfortable and very modern and restaurants were close by. I would definitely stay here again. It was a little tricky to find but worth the effort and good value for money

Our stay was exceptional. We loved the hotel and ancient village enough to spend two nights on our journey south to Portugal. During our stay we had both a sea view room and the historic room, it is hard to choose which we preferred. The sea view was magnificent. The hotel is very well situated, very clean and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. This is a hotel and town we will return to someday.

A little confusing at first to understand where the hotel was located as we were travelling by car. Hotel is down a very narrow one car, cobbled street which can be accessed by car with a turning area yet we were unsure. Found a car parking spot in the town although that is not so easy as parking is at a premium. We walked down to the hotel. Hotel is well located close to the beach, bars and restaurants. Staff were very pleasant and helpful which made for an enjoyable stay. Buffet breakfast is served each morning which was good.
The hotel is rated 2star although I would say that it is underrated. May be to do with facilities? We enjoyed our stay
