We had a great stay. Although it was only stayed one night we would have stayed for much longer if we we weren't flying out the next day. I appreciated the added security at night, it's a safe touristy area but that also means some nightlife in the vicinity, which we took full advantage of ourselves! The main door locks at night and you use your hotel key to get in, the desk is also staffed around the clock should you need assistance. The sound insulation is really good too, we didn't hear anything once we got in our room. The room itself was clean and comfortable. We didn't use the hotel restaurant, again it was our last night in Iceland, but we would have if we had a longer stay. The place seemed to have a nice ambience. Only minor thing is that pillows were on the thin side; I used my travel pillow to prop it up. Conveniently located near shops, restaurants, and a supermarket right next door. Staff was VERY nice and courteous and they stored our bags after check-out so we can go have breakfast and do some last minute shopping. Plenty of street parking and parking lots within walking distance.

The hotel is in city center so it’s a bit cramped. The lighting in the room isn’t great and the neighborhood gets incredibly loud at night, so it can be hard to settle down. The bed was rock solid which some people like, but I find to be uncomfortable. I didn’t sleep well as a result. Location is wonderful and staff was nice but because of the beds and the noise, I would choose to stay elsewhere if I returned.

Staff were very friendly. Hótel was in the good location and walkable ,everything was around. Only issue It was a bit noisy from outside and dinning room when you are over it , but after changing my room ,it became quite.

Really enjoyed the two nights I stayed at Hotel Von. It is extremely central & walkable, being on the city’s popular shopping & entertainment street, Laugavegur. Staff were friendly & courteous. Would definitely recommend for a few days stay in Reykjavik!

Hotel Von was perfectly located near everything we wanted to see and do in Reykjavik. The staff was wonderful and allowed us to check in early and even upgraded our room free of charge. Would absolutely recommend to those coming to stay in Reykjavik.

Was great location - right along the main strip and walking distance to many bars including those with live music. Also has a grocery store right next door so if you’re traveling all over with a car you can stock up. Was a great room and cool vibe too

This was our first nights stay after arriving from California- we were quite jet lagged so just wanted a conveniently located place in Reykjavik. This fit that description perfectly - Bonus being right next door was great (even though it’s a small and very busy one). Everything was walkable for us (Hallgrims church, dinner, rainbow road, etc). That being said, our room was SMALL. We knew it would be but some things like a huge bed frame in a tiny space are completely unnecessary. Still worth it considering- plus, IcelandAir lost our luggage for the first 24 hours so that gave us some space back in the room ha! And made it especially convenient since we had to buy some crucial replacement items and shops like Ice Wear and Bonus were so close. Parking was a concern since this is downtown but I planned on parking in a garage 2 blocks away and it was a nice short walk so ended up not being a big deal.

Hotel Von is centrally located near convenient bus stops, shopping, dining and tourist stops. In particular I appreciated the assistance of front desk when we needed instructions to get to the cruise terminal. An easy bus ride got us where we needed to be. Although there were not many amenities, Hotel Von met our basic needs for a good clean hotel close to many things.

Check in was easy, hotel is clean, staff friendly and helpful. The way the shower is designed does lend itself to water leaking and pooling in the bathroom. We were on the back side which would seem it should be quiet, but there were some young people running up and down satirs in the "courtyard" making noise but not for long. All in all, very comfortable.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. I arrived in mid-morning from transatlantic flight and was able to get my assigned room since it had already been cleaned. Very appreciated not having to wait until 3 PM published check-in and no additional charges. Breakfast service was very good both mornings I ate there.

Check in was easy. Our room was clean and ready for us at check in. The walls were a little thin so we could hear everything next door. There’s no designated parking so if you drive, find whatever is closest. There’s a cafe in front and a grocery store next door if you want something quick. Not sure if it was the restaurant next door but it did smell like fish all night. They hand pump hand soap which was nice and they took American Express. This hotel was pretty close to rainbow road and all of the shops. About a 10 min walk.

We loved our stay at Hotel Von. The location is excellent. The hotel is in great shape, perfectly clean, and the room as very comfortable--really exceeding our expectations. The room had beautiful touches like real wood furniture lighting that made me feel at home. We didn't get a chance to try the restaurant, but it looked great. Check-in and check-out were very easy. The hotel doesn't offer parking, but we found it easy to find (paid) street parking during the day and for overnight. Highly recommended!

This hotel is on a main street. Luckily my room was rear facing so it was quiet. The bed was comfortable and the room had everything we needed.

Loved everything about this property, except the bed was pretty hard and the shower was super stressful. There was no door on it, so water got all over the bathroom everytime you tried to shower. Didn't matter what we did, there was no way to stop the water from getting everywhere. The room was also very hot. Very clean though, great location and staff were friendly.

This was the beginning of a cruise for me and my husband. The young man in the lobby was very helpful with directions and things to see in a day around town. No thermostat in the room but we did have a window that opened. Plus, it’s Iceland. Street was loud but didn’t bother use. It’s not noise that frightened or caught our attention enough that we couldn’t sleep. We would stay there again.

Room was lovely, a good night’s sleep. Staff were great. No view to speak of but that was fine. Good value for money compared to some other hotels, and highly walkable and well located. Restaurant not as good as some other hotels but this isn’t essential. Would recommend.

The location was great for getting to excursion bus stop, close to city center, great shops and staff was wonderful. Rooms were clean and modern looking- as in most of Europe they were small but was expected. They answered all our questions and were extremely helpful. Couldn’t be happier with my stay.
