Loved this place so much we're going back for another 3 nights. A polished oasis of calm in the sea of Mexico city chaos.

I was treated like royalty. Everyone was so kind. I especially appreciated the treats that we received each night around 7 pm. Unexpected and delicious! The wine that I was given upon arrival was incredible. I slept so well that I extended my stay to ensure I did the touristy things on my list. It’s right in the middle of everything. Very walkable. The on site restaurant was very convenient, but there’s lots of incredible restaurants all around. Highly recommend.
4.8
The most welcoming experience I ever had from a hotel. Location is absolutely perfect, and the convenience of having a restaurant downstairs. Perfect! Speaking of the restaurant, the food… my goodness the food is so good! The property is clean and feels so upscale. I will return again and feel great knowing this hotel will be there waiting for me.

Very friendly and sweet staff. Would recommend this hotel to anyone without any hesitation.

Excellent. Be aware there’s no elevator and lots of stairs but staff is great about carrying your luggage and you can communicate with them via text. I would stay there again. The room was great.

We were in Suite 3 and it is the nicest bathroom of any hotel I've stayed in (the rest of the room and hotel was also very nice).
Great rooms, great staff, great location. The mexican breakfast option was tasty. It is a safe area and is close to many sights. A 30 second walk for Zocalo and maybe 10 minutes to Palacio des Belles Artes. Uber ride from the Airport was less than 15 minutes and cost about $10 cdn.
4.8
The staff were extremely helpful and communicative. Extra treats were provided. We could walk everywhere in El Centro, and go back to rest if we got tired. The street outside is very busy and noisy, but we couldn't hear much noise in our room. The room was very comfortable an spacious. There is no elevator, so you have to climb stairs, but the staff help with the luggage. Breakfast was included.

Lovely boutique hotel in the heart of Zocalo. Spacious and well designed rooms. Emanuel is a wonderful host.
4.8
Aside from a bit of a stumble checking-in everything was lovely. Very friendly and attentive staff, massive rooms, and very central. Great breakfast too!
4.8
The property is very unique. Not a traditional foyer / check in area. The rooms are rustic (brick and rock)and very well done. Very quiet and isolated room location. Walking distance to all of the sites in old Mexico City.
4.8
We had a great time staying at the hotel for 5 days. All staff were great. They were professional and kind. Could not have been nicer. Right next to Zocalo and walking distance to many attractions in the town center. Good made to order breakfast. Nicely decorated room. Highly recommended!

I can't say enough great things about the hotel. It was a wonderful boutique hotel in the heart of the Historic District with a really fun museum, cafe and gift shop attached.

Pros
- It’s a 6 room hotel in a modern art museum – that’s pretty cool
- The building and rooms are beautiful
- The staff is awesome – helpful and attentive
Cons
- The hotel is in an extremely crowded and noisy area of the city; You can still hear all of the people and things going on even with the “soundproofed” windows. It is noisy typically up until around 11pm and then it starts up again around 7am
- Hotel MUMEDI is on a crowded pedestrian street (closed to vehicle traffic). You have to walk 2 blocks to get an uber/taxi anytime you want to leave the area (if you are not walking to your destination)
- We stayed in Suite 1. The shower head was broken and water went all over the floor, which turned into a slipping hazard (we put down big towels to prevent slipping). There is also a pump sound that happens frequently even when you are not using the water in the room.
- We booked for 7 days and left 3 days early because of these cons. Through one of the staff members, we asked the owner to refund us 2 out of the 7 nights, but they wouldn’t – I have never been denied a refund before when asked to check out early and I’ve been travelling for decades.
I would avoid this hotel to stay in Mexico City. Stop by to check out the art museum and shop, but don’t stay overnight.

Design hotel Mumedi is highly recommended. Starting with the staff that was ever helpful and always willing to go the extra mile. The hotel itself is unique with a design museum in its premises. The location is awesome. The rooms were very well done and the bathroom was the biggest hotel bathroom I have ever seen. I had read some reviews about the noise from the street, but the windows did their job and we could barely hear anything from the streets. The hotel staff were very conscious about this and regularly enquired about the noise level. The breakfast option is limited, but whatever they had was very good. The only complaint I have about the hotel is that it doesn't have an elevator, so for older people or for people with knee joint might issues might have problem climbing up/down the stairs on a regular basis. Other than that, highly recommended hotel.

I liked its unique museum and the rustic building consisting of a modern flare.

We loved the hotel and the staff are amazing, especially the manager Manuel.

Amazing hotel. This is the perfect location to wander around the historic district, or just have a drink in the cafe' and watch the pedestrian traffic on the street. It was so nice to be on a pedestrian zone. Lots of museums and food and things to do within walking distance.
The hotel interior (and our room) is beautiful, with art everywhere and amazing architecture and furnishings. Our room overlooked the walking street, but once the doors were closed, we couldn't hear a thing. The A/C and fan kept things cool.
The staff in the hotel and cafe were so friendly and attentive, and answered all endless questions. Someone brought up desert every evening, and when we couldn't figure out the A/C, someone was there within minutes.
The breakfast (included in the price of the room) was delicious, as were the margaritas in the evening. The wait staff was super friendly.
I cannot say enough good things about Mumedi, other than this is the perfect place to stay in Mexico City.

The contemporary modern decoration make it unique to be located in the downtown area. We arrived on Friday super early, and daniel was very helpful, I had some miscommunication about the reservation since all has to be through watsup. So the experience of hotel for me was like staying 5 starts hostal. Food was great and overall personal was great. Every night they will drop some litle cute desserts to sweet the night I though was very cute and nice.
I will recommend it if you want to stay or in regular business hotel and rafter feel more personalized experience stay in here.

Convenient locale. Steps from the zocalo and crowded, lively pedestrian street. Our interior room had no balcony but was super quiet. Wonderful hospitality from staff at hotel and restaurant. Cool posters on walls if stairs and restaurant. Beautiful room. Third floor room difficult to access by stairs until we adjusted to altitude. Though we are in our 50’s and in fair shape 😊

We spent 4 nights here just before Christmas. The hotel is in a terrific location just minutes walk away from the Historic Center. MUMEDI is a blend of ancient Aztec materials and contemporary European design. It's a unique and first rate experience. The restaurant is also excellent and affordable. The best meals we ate were at the hotel. Would definitely stay there again.

Mumedi is a beautiful spacious hotel in the heart of el Centro, half a block from the Zócalo.
The staff couldn't be nicer, the rooms are spacious, well-appointed, and comfortable, you also have access to a beautiful living room overlooking the street, and a complementary breakfast in the wonderful street-level café.

amazing property, beautiful, unique rooms, delicious breakfasts, and impeccable service. appreciated the nightly desserts delivered, the accommodation for requests (early breakfasts delivered when early tours) and one of the staff even painted my face complimentary for dia de los muertos. hope to return sooner rather than later! thank you!

This hotel exceeded all expectations. The room was enormous quiet clean and the staff attentive to all requests. I love the Art Deco art nouveau design with modern amenities. Magical place!

We absolutely loved our stay at Mumedi! The room was beautiful, the bathroom was clean and the staff was super friendly. Especially the night manager Martin!! We really enjoyed the little extra details, like recieving complimentary mini desserts every night, they provide. Nexr time we are in Mexico City we will definitely be staying there again.

We loved our stay here. The staff is incredibly accommodating, and it was very conveniently located. The cafe is underrated as well

My wife and I spent 5 days in Mexico City exploring museums, historic sites and restaurants. She had found the Hotel Mumedi listed in someone's blog as one of the best hotels to be found in the area. We took a chance and found that to be precisely the case. The meticulously designed, renovated, historic building, its boutique hotel rooms, the high-end cafe and gourmet food offerings, the cocktails, the service... were all top notch. Emanuel and Aileen run the day-to-day affairs with highly personalized and professional service. Andres and Kevin were also two highly attentive staff that work throughout the building. They all made us feel like VIP guests, complete with evening surprise dessert deliveries to our room. The sound proof balcony doors and automated black-out curtains do an excellent job of keeping the room quiet above an extremely busy street... unless you want to people watch and absorb the atmosphere of the city, its bustling commerce, the music of the streets and the organilleros. I can't imagine having a better experience. Highest recommendations. (NB: Do be mindful that in this historic building elevators are not permitted and two flights of stairs are required to arrive to the guest rooms above the cafe and museum. Also, the Avenida Francisco Madero is closed to vehicle traffic, but Uber is readily available within 1-2 blocks in several directions, and was easy and affordable.)

Quiet and elegant rooms with high ceilings and privacy, while at the same time overlooking streetlife. Fantastic attentive service, love this place.

Excellent stay. Helpful staff. Very convenient location.

We spent 3 nights in this beautiful hotel, in a historic mansion - we really felt like home. The staff was really attentive and we felt like ViPs. Our room was spacious and very comfortable, immaculately clean, lovely arranged, with a small balcony from which we could see the Zócalo. It’s important to say that even if you are in the city center, there is no noise in the room, and the presence of the museum does not affect the tranquility of the place either. We visited a lot of neighborhoods during our stay in the city (Condesa, Roma, Coyoacán), and for a first visit of Mexico city, we were very pleased to stay in this hotel, located in the historic center, to better feel the vibe of the city, and to be close to the main attractions.

Beautiful spacious rooms in an excellent central location.

Absolutely incredible staff at all levels. The restaurant was excellent. The night-man was great. And the Manager was fantastic - he went way above and beyond in helping me during my stay. Do not hesitate to book, and it's definitely worth paying a bit more here than in some of the more well-known hotels in the area.
