The room was great! It was so big that it needed a bigger tv!! Yep, the bed was too far from the wall with the tv on it, they needed a bigger tv. (it was good size but could have been bigger) I paid extra for a room with a view, we got one on the 1st floor of the hotel, (the hotel does not start until the 5th floor) one that you could just walk right out on to the 5th floor lawn. Loved the K-cup coffee maker. When it was time to make coffee all the dishes were in the dishwasher, and they were all wet. I went to get a coffee cup it was filthy. Like they did not use soap when they ran it. They like to lock the doors, we had a hard time using our keycards to gain entry and had to have help from the front desk (no not drinking) after 11pm to get in.

I would not stay here again. Cell coverage is non-existent in this concrete building. To access hotel wi-fi, you need to provide personal info, including email. No, I am not going to do that. Parking is $15 a day. The AC is noisy, producing a low pitch rumble. The shower floor is slippery. Try not to slip and break your neck. The bed was uncomfortable and the pillow was made out of foam rubber, like you would find in a Motel 6. The room was new, large, and included a full kitchen. If you don't need the kitchen, I would stay elsewhere. If you would use the kitchen, weigh the pros and cons.

We had a great time here! The bowling alley and arcade located on the first floor was so convenient when the weather was too cold. The fitness center is pretty good. It has lots of space, a set of weights and the usual cardio machines. It was really quiet. We never heard anybody in the hallways. Everyone is really nice and helpful.

Hotel was very nice, however toilet was clogged the whole time. We finally called the morning we left and it took 45 minutes for someone to come by and unclog it. There was also a food wrapper left in our ice bucket. When checking out, had to wake up the front desk person that was sleeping in the adjacent room. However, we were very impressed with our room.

Was a quick weekend trip with some friends. Weather was unbearably cold, but we managed to enjoy everything Iowa City. Really could not ask for more from a place to stay. Convenient to everything downtown, Movies, Bowling, Coffee among other amenities right within the hotel. Highly Recommended!

Room is so spacious with all of the kitchen components to make the stay comfy and easy. Kuerig, yes, but such a cool coffee shop on the 2nd Floor. King bed was wonderful with awesome sheets. Large windows and nice dark out curtains. Not much of a lobby, but that is fine, the building has lots of fun activities happening, including bowling...why not?!! Great stay!

Reception desk made check in easy and was also very informative. Room was spacious and had all the amenities one would need for an extended stay. If definitely did not have a warm feeling to the room. The table and 4 chairs could be useful, but did not fit or suit the other furniture. Seemed like an after thought. All in all, the aesthetic was clinical and cold. If I were in town for business, the space was perfect. If I were there for a romantic long weekend, I would look elsewhere.

First time staying at Chauncey. Very nice and very clean. One thing about the shower. Nice Rain shower head. Very spacious shower. Half glass shower wall. Nice look to it but water does leak out onto the floor at the half without glass.
