Nice and quiet room. Super close to the central square. Nice breakfast.

We had a short but wonderful stay at Casa de la Luz, it’s a gorgeous building that’s well located in the historic centre. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The room was lovely, well appointed (great shower!), and the bed was comfortable. The restaurant is also really good, highly recommended checking them out. Loved our stay, wish it was longer!

Solid 5 stars!!! Hotel is beautiful. The bed was very comfortable, nice AC unit, and super clean. Good drapes, and we had no noise issues, our suite faced the park. The staff was outstanding. Housekeeping and maintenance personnel very helpful and polite. The receptionist was very kind and made us feel very welcome. This place has a restaurant, beautiful ambience. We had Juan and Jose Luis and their service was outstanding. Francisco was the bartender and he made couple of excellent cocktails with some recommendations. The chef’s and the kitchen staff did an amazing job preparing our dinner. Everything was delicious. In the morning, the breakfast was very complete. We had a delicious meal with excellent service from Mauricio and we had Jose Luis again. The chefs again, outstanding job. We would definitely return to this place again. Note to management: please congratulate your Human Resource person, your hotel staff exceeded our expectations. Thanks again

The atmosphere is amazing, from the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with excitement! Our 1 of 1 room was amazing and very very spacious, we’re really grateful for the hospitality and kindness of everyone there! Definitely coming back.

Casa de la Luz is a beautiful boutique hotel in a historic building, about 3 blocks away from Zocalo. it's an easy walk throughout the historic centre (and tbh only about 40 mins to the Juarez and Roma N neighbourhood). The rooms were large (I booked into a master, which I'd recommend as the standard rooms were a bit smaller and didn't see to have a lot of natural light) and overlooked a relatively quiet street. The breakfasts were amazing and the staff were very helpful, in an unobtrusive way.
If I were to stay in or near the Centro Historico neighbourhood, I would highly recommend Casa de la Luz. It was the perfect hotel for my first visit to Mexico city.

We had the best stay! The staff was friendly and helpful (and even spoke English!). Our room was beautiful and I enjoyed opening the balcony doors and watching people in the square below. The food was also delicious!

Beautiful architecture and convenient to so many tourist attractions

Worst experience I ever had. The hotel was so pretty but the location was so bad with the limited access to transportation (taxi or Uber). I didn’t feel safe to stay in that area. There was a club/restaurant next to the hotel which was so noisy and loud. The street view was really bad, and there was a constant smell in the hotel. There was no room service available. Overrated hotel with zero quality. Overall, I didn’t have a good experience and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

Stunning building and architecture. Truly a dream to gaze upon every day and soak in. Service was great and can't beat the location. There are two excellent restaurants inside the hotel, so you dont have to leave (one for breakfast, the other for lunch and dinner). Spacious, well designed shower that has L'Occitane toiletries. I am super impressed with the sound isolation of the doors to the balcony!

Nice locations off the main street. Amazing hotel that is well kept and very clean. The staff was amazing and friendly.

The hotel is a converted and restored Spanish Colonial castle. It is beautifully restored with modern amenities in the rooms and bathrooms. The staff are excellent and provide really good service. The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Zocalo and an easy walk to restaurants, cafes and sites one would like to see in Mexico City. We were there for just one night and I wish I had more days there. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Caution: Rooms on the 1st floor, left side of the hotel are next to a restaurant/disco that makes overwhelming noise that makes it impossible to sleep until the wee hours. The hotel knew this but did not warn us, nor did it take measures during the night when we complained. The hotel moved us in the morning to a new room, but we did not sleep that first night. The new room was fine but the shower head did not work. Other than that the stay was fine.

I love everything about this hotel. The location is absolutely perfect and the staff is amazing. The free breakfast is made to order and delicious. I would absolutely stay here again if I’m lucky enough to go back to CDMX.

Lovely property with excellent service and good breakfast. Location is ideal and rooms were beautiful.

My friends and I lucked into a random reservation at the Casa de la Luz for our first trip to Mexico City, and loved everything about this hotel. The one possible downside is the loud nightclub across the street, but that is only a factor on Saturday nights and doesn't affect any but the front-facing rooms. Otherwise, the simple elegance, convenient location, extremely kind staff, comfort and cleanliness, and delicious breakfast all added significantly to our wonderful vacation. Extra shout out to Jesus the concierge, whose warmth and hospitality made us feel instantly welcome and at ease.

Beautiful, unique building conveniently located in the central historic city center. Fantastic breakfast and gracious service.

We loved our 5-night stay in this gorgeous old building. Our room was spacious with a comfy bed, a lovely shower, and nice details. The lighting is special. The staff is very attentive and kind. The only downside was the somewhat unkempt square below our balcony with the loud nightclub on Saturday night. The precise location of the hotel is a little unfortunate, but not enough to prevent us from coming back.

The hotel is gorgeous with friendly staff and excellent food and drinks. The area is very quiet at night and in the mornings.

I am a returning guest, and would return again to this hotel. The rooms are comfortable, clean, spacious (very large bed) and stylish. The staff are very attentive and helpful. The breakfast is fantastic - excellent choice, delicious food, and sufficient to fill you for the day. Some guests may dislike the open-plan bathroom with walls not connecting to the ceiling, nor the glass windows above the bedroom doors which allows light into the room and could disturb very light sleepers. The roof terrace restaurant serves incredible Mexican cuisine and drinks, and at very reasonable prices. The neighbourhood is safe and convenient to attractions in the Historic district. The Metro entrance is immediately next to the hotel. All together, an excellent choice in the CDMX Historic District.

A good hotel in noisy neighborhood. Service and reception were excellent. The downside is noise from street and inside the hotel as there was a wedding one night. The room is nice and large, the rooftop bar and restaurant is very good. Interesting neighborhood but not upscale.

We had a wonderful stay at Casa de la Luz. Given it was our first time in Mexico City, we were pleasantly surprised at how nice and convenient this property is. It is a beautiful building and well managed. The breakfast was also a plus. It was overall very comfortable and I believe better than other hotels in the area. We would stay here again and recommend others to.

Sadly, an amazing property in a great locar let down by false advertising.
The room 101 on the mezzanine above the lobby facing the square on the street front was fine. We stayed mon tue wed n9 problem, our final night Thu - the incessant deep drum and base from the nightclub next door started at 10.30pm and continued without pause until 07.30am. Then the chuchbells started at 07.45am. Impossible to sleep. When challenged, the reception staff stated - yes, this music is always a big problem for us. More a problem for your paying guests I feel. The staff were helpful when i was mugged a block and a half away and assisted in calling the police so credit to them there. Amazing old buildings, but no noise insulation.

Location is great but the 2 parking garages there cause lots of issues for Uber taxis etc.

This small boutique hotel was charming with wonderful staff. It is a small historic building with lots of character. The rooms are strictly modern. The original elements were a challenge- the doors are original so the sound from the common area travels.

beautiful natural light in old historic building. Open spaces for sitting and enjoying. Great location to the Zocalo and surrounding sites in CDMX

Did not like the hotel restaurant food.

This hotel was gorgeous. It was an old convent so the character of the building is very charming. They have a rooftop bar that is gorgeous and the drinks and food are all top notch. Though they don’t pour heavy so we ordered tequila shots with our cocktails the second night just to add in a bit more liquor. The staff was amazing; very kind and accommodating. There isn’t a pool/spa and their gym area is VERY small, but they made the most of what the existing building had to offer. Our room had an attached sitting area with a Juliet window/balcony that was beautiful. Although the bathroom was a bit small, the shower was updated and spacious. The location is pretty central to areas you’d like to see without being too in the middle of it all to rest. I would absolutely stay there again.

We had a wonderful time. All staff members were very helpful and gracious. Concierge Jesus was great, assisting us with purchasing Ballet tickets and provided excellent dining suggestions. The hotel is extremely clean. Room was comfortable, with nice linens, great shower etc… we loved it!

Absolutely loved this hotel. The staff were so friendly and attentive. Especially Jesus. He took care of everything for us and made us feel so welcome. The breakfast that was included in our stay was great and loved that the property had two restaurants. The roof top restaurant gave us 2 welcome drinks that were delicious and the menu was very impressive.
the property overall was so beautiful and clean. Was very impressed with the decor and overall feel. Felt so safe. I I’ll definitely recommend to all family and friends.

My husband and I had a quick weekend stay at Casa de la Luz. The hotel itself was beautiful, very comfortable, and sparkling clean. At the end of a day of exploring the city, we were always looking forward to getting back to our nice room. The staff was very attentive and helpful. One staff-member, Jesus, gave us really good advice about how to plan our short stay to get the most out of it. If we were staying in Centro Historico again, we would most definitely stay at Casa de la Luz.
