Not many hostels in Hervey Bay but if you’re looking for an eco-friendly option this is the place. The girl at reception was nice, helped me out with some things and just good chat. Rooms are clean although a bit worn down. But then again it has pretty affordable pricing. Enough amenities to get your solo travel sorted out and nearby the beach.

The lodge was lovely. We had a double room ensuite The only negative was the noise. The lodge was a light build and not very sound proof. Could hear the sounds of flushing toilets and moving objects

Lovely atmosphere. Room 12 - there is a room above, noise travels straight through, they were very noisy from 6am. Ceiling fan needs repair, only the highest speed works.

The room was small but very comfortable & quaint, with a nice en suite, comfy mattress & heater Unfortunately the noise from other guests was the cause of a very restless night. Room 12 was where we stayed. Would stay again but potentially in a different room. Checkin was friendly & helpful.

Only negative was the communal bathroom right next to our room it was quite noisy when showers were in use.
It was a great base camp while we explored the area.

We loved our stay! Gorgeous property and a lovely clean room (we had the family room) with a certain ambience about it. Lots of space and I loved that we could cook in the room and it also included crockery and cutlery. We wish we could have stayed longer

We chose this place because Hotels.com had a 9.0 Superb rating; however, it was far from that raring. Our room was one step up from camping! Just beds in rooms, nothing else to speak of. One of the rooms had no windows. The bathroom was on an open veranda, the sheets had not been ironed, so we wondered if they had been changed from the previous guests! There is ni air-con or hearing.
I had one thin bed cover and froze all night.
When we were leaving, the gate was shut and my friend got out of the car to open it. The concrete driveway was so broken up that the gate was hard to open. She fell because of the uneven ground, taking skin off her elbow, knee and foot. I went to the office (9.30am) and it was shut. Another guest came to our aid and contacted the Manager. She came with some disinfectant and bandaids but did not seem too concerned, did not take details onto a report, or offer a cup of tea to my friend who was in shock. I felt they failed in their duty of care.
The motto is.....do not stay at Woolshed Eco Lodge!

Very clean, lovely room with private bathroom. Great facilities. Highly recommend. Only downside, private room on road so alot of road noise and noise from cars stopping outside to open gate constantly.
