The Lodge was great; i only stayed there one night because i was attending a conference at the hilton (which is about 200 ft away) and couldn't get a room there the first night, but after staying at the lodge the first night i wish i had just booked there the entire time. they offer you a welcome drink while your bags are brought up. the room was spacious and very nice. i had a great view of the river/city. unfortunately there were big wildfires during my stay so (i assume this is why) the pool area was not open

A wonderful hotel on the Vila Nova de Gaia side of the river Douro. The hotel had excellent amenities and I slept even better than in my own bed. Even though the design of the room it self was maybe not my favorite in regards of the open bath room (doors to toilet and shower), we enjoyed the stay outmost. Room clean, breakfast wonderful and staff very attentive and polite. The only slightly negative was the WiFi could need some improvements, all units did come and go both in room and by the pool. Highly recommendable, the minor problem with WiFi did not ruin any problems as 5G worked perfectly as supplement when needed.

This was a wonderful hotel. I was able to upgrade to a river view which was totally worth the money. The hotel was beautiful and the staff couldn’t be more welcoming. A must stay place in Porto.

Beautiful hotel with magnificent views on Porto city. Very kind and caring staff. Lovely breakfast with freshly baked pastel de nata. Enjoyed lovely diner in the restaurant and afternoon at the hotel pool. Would recommend for sure!.

Thoroughly enjoyable stay at this beautiful hotel. From the moment we arrived until our departure 8 days later, every effort was made to ensure our time there was nothing short of amazing. Attention to detail was on point; food was delicious; staff were amazing. All of them - I don't know everyone's name, but Ana, Danielle, Hector, Marta, Henrique - were completely delightful. We have stayed at many hotels and this one shines. We look forward to returning & would recommend without any hesitation.

The best! Ten stars!! This was our second time staying at the Lodge and was just as great as the first. The people are so wonderful, accommodating and helpful and really exemplify consummate customer service. The rooms are nice, the bar well-stocked and the breakfasts are incredible, not to mention the perfect location with walking distance to all of the port houses and other attractions in Porto. We even had problems with last minute travel plans and they worked to find an alternate the night before we left. We cannot thank them enough for their help, nor recommend them more highly when you are in Porto. We will return!

Wonderful experience. Staff was amazing and so nice. The included breakfast had many options which was great. Nice big king size bed in the room was very comfortable. As an American, I know that European hotels can sometimes be much smaller compared to what we are used to. This was not the case at all. I highly recommend.

The Lodge Hotel was amazing in every way. The service was impeccable, location great, pool and facilities fantastic. Breakfast buffet was lovely and the staff made sure to make it memorable. Lovely hotel. Really well located. Pool area is really pleasant and so welcome after a day of walking. All staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We are on the restaurant one evening and it was the best meal of our stay.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, the service was amazing. The room was always spotless, bed was like sleeping in a cloud lol. The breakfast had a huge amount of options and was always well stocked. The waiters /waitresses were always attentive and we were treated like royalty. To be fair every member of staff treated us like royalty and couldn’t do enough for us. Would highly recommend the hotel for comfort, cleanliness and service. Would stay again without hesitation.

We stayed 10 nights at "The Lodge". We could not have faulted the hotel in any respect. The staff are a true highlight showing the hotel's worthiness of being a 5* property. Magarida on reception helped us continuously throughout our stay and was always warm, friendly and welcoming to us in every interaction. At check in, the room was not available (we landed very early in the morning and did not expect to get checked in). Magarida very kindly telephoned us as soon as the room was available which was very thoughtful and convenient. Other staff of note was the entire team at breakfast, led by the very friendly and accommodating Ava and Henrique. Both of these staff members welcomed us with a smile each morning. They were also kind enough to give us recommendations of where to go and what to do whilst on holiday - Ava even wrote down a couple of local desserts that we had to try! There were so many pleasant waiting staff, unfortunately we didn't catch all their names. It was so lovely to wake up in the morning and go to a breakfast room that had such a lovely atmosphere. The hotel is very clean and the housekeeping staff are clearly very professional and look after the aesthetic of the hotel. Their nightly turn down service was appreciated, and we very much enjoyed our nightly chocolate or face cleansing towel. In terms of our VIP access status, we appreciated being allowed to check in early, a welcome letter from the manager and free bottle of wine and treats! Muito obrigado!!

Lovely hotel for a couples or adult trip. Very walkable to all the main sight. Very trendy interior, nice pool and lovely rooms. Wonderful friendly staff who were always happy to help and make recommendations. Minor room for improvement in terms of cleaning of the room and limited variety for breakfast (when compared to other hotels of the same rating). Our bathroom was not always as thoroughly cleaned as expected but they were happy to rectify. We would recommend the hotel to others and would come back.
