Never stay here

nothing at all, as we did not stay in this place, we were moved to another place without our authorization.

No toiletries! No toilet paper! we arrived after midnight with no chance to buy anything! The shower did not work.. the smell was awful, as this is on top of a butcher shop. The place has never been cleaned, was full of spiders!

This place should be forbidden for stay

no breakfast, no toilet paper, no towels,

I would only stay in a place like this if I don't have any other option... No toilet paper, only one bathroom for more than 12 people! not clean at all, no change of sheets from the previous guests. No kitchen... the host misstarted us and charged us 20 pounds for just arriving early. This place does not follow any decent room standard.. I seriously think this listing should be deleted!

Excellent

The property very clean tidy, nice and cosy, central heating hot water , near the shops, bus stop, the manager very professional, helpful and very friendly, goes the extra mile to commdat whatever could be done with a reasonable request I can NOT thank him enough, wishing him all the success in the future.

Best value property in Manchester. Comfy and lovely rooms at a low cost

Host was amazing. Really helpful and honest guy. The rooms were really big and the beds are comfy. For the price it’s worth every penny. Not sure why there’s bad reviews, when you factor in the price with what you get it’s actually a great property. I’ve stayed twice now and will be booking further nights. It’s not a 5* hotel but it’s the best place you’ll get for the price in Manchester

I walked out after 10 minutes ...couldn't breathe

There was no privacy ...you can hear people talking outside ...was suffocated ...it feels like someone is at your head every time

Good location not too far from the city centre easily accessible by public transport or taxi. Also got a nice room.

No TV/entertainment, is ideal for a short stay but not for a long trip.

Very bad customer service

I booked arrival time between 22.00 and 23.00. When I arrived, I was told there is no staff for checking in. I had to look for another place to stay in foe that night. I was told that I will be refunded but it didn't happen.

Property is not fit for purpose for families or even anyone, disgusting, smells of dampness

It was disgusting, no hygiene. Smells of dampness all over the building and room. One Bathroom shared by multiple rooms and long queues. Room door lock broken. No hanger in wardrobe. Bath Towels were like old colourful kids towels from the 80s No WIFI. Kitchen not allowed to be used. No kettle in room. Owner is not truthful and does not care It was like a building site upon check-in at 4pm Paid around £80 for 1 night for this rubbish!

Monarch House, next to Hector Road

A free lift to work, thank you as an apology. Impressed by the wardrobe in the room. Lovely student atmosphere on a balmy evening on the front patio (reassuring as I got back late on). Good transport links (192 ). Nice family area. Cheap. Warm. Reasonably clean. New communal carpet, and not too badly maintained.

A failed arrangement to book in early and a forgotten booking. I found rubbish and other items in the room, though I did not look too closely. Some of the furniture was broken. The room was intended for a couple with a child, so it was a waste of resources. No view. The single bed felt like a camp bed with strange springs. I am used to having personal facilities in the same room, so sharing a bathroom with others was strange and embarrassing. I was disturbed by someone during the night who had the wrong floor (second). The door was very insecure which was annoying and of concern.. What I could see of the ground and lower floors needed a good clean. I did not notice local cafés for breakfast but town is nearby.

Friendly couple

The place is crawling with cockroaches , filthy ,lack of facilities, light switch in the corridor instead of the room, basin tap is falling off . On the whole disgusting and is a heath hazard .

Disappointing

Big room, large bed, good heating.

-The owner doesn't provide towels, -The owner doesn't provide bathing soap or liquid , -The toilet is not well kept (not at all) -The beds do not have proper duvets. The mattress is still sealed in plastic.

Nice n cheerful looks like still in the middle of upgrades but cheap n cheerful.went to the appollo so only 30 minutes walk away .

Just needs a bit more care with the cleaning .

Do not do it.....

I have traveled this country extensively for the past twenty years and even backpacked around the world, I have to say this place is the worst I've ever stayed at. Despite the price, it was not worth the agro.

No towels, no drink-making facility, dirty bed covers, very dirty room. Not at all nice.

passable, wouldn't stay again

Was advertised as a hotel and in the city centre, was actually a house renting rooms and an hour outside the city centre. Ended up missing the concert I was in manchester to see as misleading information had me looking for the wrong thing. Would be nice to put up a sign outside the property.

Unable to stay due to being double booked. Yet to get a refund.

Owner blamed Booking.com for a double booking. I have applied for a refund and it was not authorised. I will be claiming back through my bank as I was not given the service I paid for in advance and had to make other last minute arrangements.
