WATER LEVELS
The water levels depicted in the photos are current. The water has been down since March 2023, but it's not due to drought conditions. The dam that created Meadow Lake (aka Lake Nolte) from the Guadalupe River since 1928, is being rebuilt. While it’s now a river (12-15’ lower than when it was a lake), it’s pretty consistent level and flow, despite rainfall, because it’s fed from the bottom of Canyon Lake. The river has a muddy bottom, so plumes of button moss can float downstream and sometimes collect at water's edge, esp during warmer summer months.
Despite the lower levels, we are still in a great spot for kayaking, swimming, floating, wading, and fishing. It varies from ankle deep at the edge of the bank, 4-5 feet at the base of the stairs into the water, and over 10 feet in other areas. Additionally, there's no boat traffic so it's very calm and quiet here.

PLEASE NOTE
This is a tiny home, so the water heater is also tiny. This isn't the place for long showers, and the tank needs time to refill between showers.
The riverfront decks on either side of us extend to the property lines. While our house/porch and firepit/yard feel private, our riverfront is a good place to make friends with neighbors.
If Lake Nolte Retreat is booked on your preferred dates, please check out our other properties: Meadow Lake Retreat (2 tiny homes on the adjacent lot) and Reiley Retreat (2 units of a duplex on the Guadalupe River in Seguin).
We live locally and are only a phone call away if you need anything. We also have local maintenance and housekeeping available for needs that may arise during your stay with us.
We love this place because it's quiet, near the end of a dead end country road with cows and lots of stars. But it's still super convenient (5 minutes) to many things like Walmart and HEB.
RIGHT OFF I-10 and CENTRALLY LOCATED TO:
- essentials like HEB, Walmart, Starbucks, restaurants, movie theater (- Gruene/New Braunfels/Schlitterbahn (20 miles)
- San Marcos outlet malls (25 miles)
- San Antonio (~40 miles)
- Austin (~50 miles)
You'll likely need a car to get around. HEB will deliver groceries to your doorstep via Shipt. Please check on Uber/DoorDash as those services seem to be intermittent here.
Reservations >2 weeks may require an additional cleaning fee.
NO smoking. Smoking of any kind (including tobacco, marijuana, e-cigarettes, vape pens, and hookahs) is prohibited at this property, inside and out.
NO pets.
NO large parties or gatherings allowed. We have neighbors with full-time residence nearby who will report back with excessive noise or groups that exceed the home limit. Parking limited to 2 vehicles.

Awesome experience

The property was well kept and very cute! There were multiple hangout spots outside, everything we needed was provided, and the sleeping arrangements were comfortable. Unfortunately we didn’t get to cool off or hang in the water due to the amount of moss floating. The moss was mentioned in the description and appreciate the honest communication.

Laura had everything we needed for a fun-filled, relaxing weekend getaway! We enjoyed kayaking, sitting on the deck with morning coffee, and making smores with the fire pit at night. Would definitely recommend!!!

The house was just perfect for 2 adults (a couple of kids would fit nicely in the loft) Nicely appointed and well equipped. It has great sitting areas from the porch to the waterside deck. We would have used the water toys but the weather wasn’t cooperating and the river was very low. We hope they get rain soon! Great communication & directions from the owners.

It is obvious that a lot of thought went into this home, as it had everything (and more) that we needed to make our stay comfortable and convenient. Ideal location, close to stores and shops but tucked into a quiet and peaceful area of town. Very clean! Laura was also super sweet and helpful. One of the kindest and most at helpful hosts I’ve had.

Laura was, without a doubt, the most helpful and friendly host I have ever stayed with anywhere in the world. She contacted me several days prior to my stay and made sure that I was aware of what opportunities were in the area and the best places for activities and dining. The tiny house was fully equipped, clean, and comfortable. The location was beautiful and peaceful. There are lots of little touches to make the stay perfect. I can't wait to stay again.

Laura was spot on. Her descriptions were accurate, and her input about Seguin was most helpful. Everything was where she said it was and finding anything in the little house was trouble free due to the labeling of all the drawers and pantries. On the few times we did need to contact her the responses were lightnin fast.
We did encounter a couple of issues, those bein in no particilar order were 1), our stay went by entirely to fast, seems like we blinked and poof, those 3 days and nights were gone and 2), the dadgum fish weren't bitin.
We figured out how to rectify 1, and thats just to go back again, whch we most assuredly will, but 2, well, the fish bitin?, that's always just flat out luck of the draw.
I do kinda think that if I DID catch me a couple of catfish that she was just friendly enough and eager enough to please that she may well have come cleaned em for me.
I'll let y'all know about that after our next visit, cause Laura and Seguin aint seen the last of us by any means.

Lake Nolte Retreat was a very nice and cozy little getaway. Our family decided to take a trip during the hectic holidays and just relax and this was the perfect place. The house was very clean, modern and equipped with all the necessities. The outdoor equipment was an added bonus. And even though it was freezing cold outside during our stay, we enjoyed the warmth and especially the family time we spent together.
Totally recommend it!

We had a lovely stay. The property, decor and finishings are top notch. What a beautiful location on the Guadalupe River while in the area for my grandson's 1st birthday. I sure hope to visit again when we can take advantage of the water activities.

Absolutely loved our stay here! It is so nice, super peaceful and very clean on the inside! Very relaxing and enjoyed sitting by the water during the day and fishing at night! The beds are super comfortable as well!! Laura also kept in touch with us our whole stay, which we loved! If we had any questions we were able to call or text her and she would answer right away! This tiny house is everything and we will for sure be back!

We have stayed at many AirBnbs...andd this tiny house has been THE BEST by far. You have thought about everything. The entire place has everything you could think of...or forgot to pack! The tiny house is adorable and comfortable. The outdoor and water amenities are fantastic! You provide everything you could want for fun-filled days on the water. Early mornings with coffee on the dock are special. Downtown Seguin is quaint...and don't miss the Burn Bean BBQ - they serve rare BBQ breakfast on Sunday. We loved every minute here. We will be back!

Lake Nolte retreat is a beautiful little haven on the water, just outside of Seguin. The property was the perfect setting for a private birthday weekend getaway, on tranquil Meadow Lake. Just the 2 of us, and the gorgeous mornings and sunsets looking out over the lake. This little paradise is outfitted with everything you could need for a stay cation with family, including water recreation amenities, fishing, and a water slide!!! Fully stocked kitchen is a HUGE plus. The hosts are Heavenly, and I have nothing but rave reviews for this tiny house, and fond memories of my first stay here. Can't wait to come back and make new ones!!!

4th of July Summer Vacation
We had our summer vacation at this property and had a great time. Comfy home was perfect for our family. House was very well furnished with anything we needed +. Wife loved how close it was to shopping and groceries. Water was great, private and quite. Not very much traffic on water. Fishing was excellent! We enjoyed the kayaks, paddleboard and just floating. We will definently recommend and book again!

Perfection
We loved this little place. It was perfect for me and my daughters. Everything we needed was in the house. All the water toys you need are by the dock. We ate s’mores and did some light fishing at night. It was our first time ever fishing and the people the dock over taught us how to hook a worm and the ins and outs on fishing. Such a fun time!

Fantastic Getaway on the River
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The cottage is cozy but well laid out and super clean / new. It was perfect for four of us, but we would gladly rent their sister property next door if we had a larger group. Small details like labeled cabinets were nice. The slide on the dock was fun and the massive Cypress trees provide a nice relief from the hot sun we were having. The host was super friendly and easy to deal with. Would recommend 10/10!
