We enjoyed our stay.

Furnace in the house was unbelievably loud. Occupants in the other part of the duplex were smoking weed so it reeked around there .

My husband and I wanted to spend a few days at the coast. We love VRBO and I found this duplex that was just perfect for the two of us. It was close to town, the beach and the hiking trails we love. It was very quiet and convenient. It does have stairs leading up to the front door which could be a problem for some folks.

We loved our stay at the Peaceful Pelican. We have stayed at many vacation rental properties over the years and this rates at the very top. It is very, very clean and the location is perfect. Close to town and to the beach. It was so nice to sit at the kitchen table to eat and be able to look out and see the ocean. We will be back to Brookings and back to the Peaceful Pelican!

We’re glad we chose Peaceful Pelican for our four night stay in Brookings. The place was roomy with a nice floor plan. Very clean and well stocked. The view towards the ocean was better than I anticipated from the description.

We really enjoyed the property it was beautiful and on the whole comfortable. The only downfall was the bed. The bed frame was broken and fixed with duct tape making the bed uncomfortable. It would creak every time we turned and the mattress leaned. It was a shame because other than that the property was outstanding.

My best friend and I found this listing for our girls trip to the South Coast. We wanted to visit the redwoods and the beach. We also needed a kitchen because of my friend's strict dietary restrictions. The Peaceful Pelican was the perfect fit. Easy access to everything. The space was clean and quiet, and the kitchen had everything we needed. We had a great time.

After hiking all day it was great to come back to a place where we could watch the sunset with our feet up on the balcony. The space was clean and easy to use. the three of us had plenty of room to spread out. Check out the Honey Bee Bakery down the street!

We scored this location at the last minute and it was the perfect getaway to end the summer. The location is lovely, on a quiet cul de sac, overlooking the ocean, a block from 101, and minutes from Harris Beach. The duplex is recently remodelled and was in great condition. The 2 queen beds and cozy living space was perfect for our family of four. We appreciated the stocked kitchen, games, plush beach towels, convenient laundry and helpful property management.

It was nice and clean. Our guests were a bit loud, so I feel bad about that. Beach was awesome. Crossing the 101 to get there was a real adrenaline rush.

This is a lovely little place. Very close to down and just a couple minutes to Harris Beach. A beautiful beach with neat tide pools. Large front windows with a great view of the ocean. A small balcony for a nice space to start or end your day.
There is garage use available. While it is small and we did not use it, one might like to do so. The kitchen was well stocked with all the expected tools in ones home kitchen. Including a large pot for crabs, had we been so lucky to catch any keepers. Additionally, a Kurig coffee maker with pleanty of coffee pods was on hand. The only item that would've been handy was ziplock bags (minor detail though). Plenty of clean towels (beach and bath), extra linens, laundry detergent and sand toys, a hose outside for rinsing off and all items were easy to find.
It is a duplex, currently with a shared washer and dryer in locking washroom next to the garage. This space was handy for changing out of sandy swim suites and rinsing in the large sink before placing in the wash w/o bringing the mess to the living space. Timing on use had to be thoughtful with respect to the tenant in the other unit. Thankfully, the other tenant was not there much.
The house is on a quiet street in the cultisac just off hwy 101. It is very easy to find.
If there was a concern, it was an easy fix. The instructions for trash day were not clear. It was easy to reach the office. The staff was very kind and help resolve the issue right away.

Hello we stayed at the "Peaceful Pelican" in Brookings Oregon over this past weekend from the 7/22-24. The location is great with nice ocean views and nice spacious home with a lot of potential. However for a property that stated "No Pets" this house and sheet were covered in black dog hair, I have pet allergies. The pet odor was so strong and was coming from the throw carpets in the living room and the runner down the hall. Upon rolling this up and placing them in a closet because they smelled so terrible we saw they had pet urine on them. Those need to be thrown out. The Bathrooms were clean but no one vacuumed the house. See attached photos. So upon arrival I had to vacuum the entire house. There was dog hair and female hair on the bedsheets in the master bedroom as well. When paying for a cleaning fee I expect it to be cleaned and vacuumed. I am requesting a refund of the cleaning fee I was charged. I understand this was a brand new rental and will have some growing pains but it should be cleaned above all else. Also the first day we were there after we cleaned/vacuumed put our belongings in the rental and left for the rest of the day. Someone who had a key entered the rental property. How do we know this? Because we never locked the dead bolt the whole time we where there and when we came back in the evening after dinner the dead bolt was locked and the back door off the master bedroom was left completely unlocked. Needless to say this made us feel very uncomfortable.
