The bottom of the trail was scary ! Need a stonger rope or a rope ladder would be cool ! On the new steps the first top step has sunk in , and middle down another one needs firmed up! My grandson pointed out the sign on every
Exit door about the becha at your own risk ! lol but it was worth it

Not a well stocked kitchen( baking sheets old, no mixer etc/ having to reset breaker. The TV on the lower level would not work. Property not well maintained. Bottom shower old and pan rusty. We are not snobby people but felt it was not one of the better houses we gave stayed.

Deck and ocean access was priceless to my family!

The views sold us on this house and they delivered! Easily accessible and easy to get around Brookings from this quiet neighborhood. The beach access is steep and rough at the bottom, but kids and adults in our party were able to make it. The grandparents stayed at the house. Super quiet beach with lots of starfish and sea life to view. House has some age on it, so if you want something modern and fresh this may not fit your needs. This fit our needs just fine!

The location and cleanliness of the inside of the house was great. But the outside of the house and property needs some major maintenance.

The location of this property is impossible to beat. The views and access to the ocean were amazing and made for a great stay. That being said, the house is old and could use updating and some deep cleaning. We really enjoyed our stay and would consider this property again solely for the private access to the beach and the fantastic views.

Looks as if living/dining area was remodeled fairly recently and are very nice and comfortable.magnificent views. Other areas were quite old and had not been well cleaned…dusty and kind of run down including front yard. Dead wires and a nonfunctional floor heater in one room. Main AC worked well but not heat. New laundry equipment. Kitchen well equipped but frig didn’t seal well and food in the back froze. Barbeque would only work for a short time. Doable and we loved the ocean views but it needs some TLC. It didn’t spoil our family trip. Just be aware

The location of this property is excellent. There is beach access but the bottom portion of the trail to the beach is difficult to navigate with towels and coolers. It looks like it’s been washed away. The home is old but well kept. There are two bathrooms but the downstairs showerhead is very low. We had the short people shower in there 😂. The split unit was a godsend as it got quite warm during our stay. The access to the private beach honestly makes any inconveniences worth it.

My family just stayed at this place and were totally Blessed with the breath taking view of the ocean front, rooms, even down to ms Pac-Man game and all the best places to eat for us. We would stay there again without any doubt.

Such an amazing find. My family flew out to Oregon to spend time with my brothers family and this place fit all our needs and more. Great location to Red Woods and the beach was just perfect. Path down to the beach was a challenge but also an adventure. Would stay here again!

The pictures posted do notDo this view justice!!! Every window in the house faces the ocean and they are huge windows. I was sooooo happy when I got here and saw the STUNNING views. The house has plenty of kitchen cooking supplies, towels, TP, laundry soap etc. The beach access is a bit of a work out but was so fun to adventure down the cool little path down. Gets steep at the end so wear good shoes and if you have baby’s or are elderly or out of shape be prepared to be out of breath or need help getting down. We are in our 30/40’s so it wasn’t bad for us. If you are a Karen you might nit pick some stuff here like the rusty deck chairs or the centipedes in the double queen bedroom. But honestly, the entire place is too beautiful to complain about any of those things. The neighbors to the left are kind of rude. So don’t plan on spending too much time on the back deck without them complaining. We will definitely be back 🤗 we would love to do many more family vacations here. The person who is available to communicate with via text about things like checking in early, etc. was very responsive to any questions I had, was very kind and shared a lot of information about the area with me. Was very helpful. Again, if you’re nitpicky just know you may see a hand print on the window, cob weds, some chipped paint, centipede or a rusty chair but your on the coast so to me it was expected to see some weathered things. The views are gorgeous! We literally couldn’t stop saying it all week!!!!

No complaints at all, it was perfect other than the precarious end of the trail down to the beach. We loved it!

The house was perfect for our group. Young boys and adults. The table tennis table was effect and the deck lovely. The hike to the beach was wonderful. We thoroughly appreciated the layout of the house. There was room for everyone.

This house has a great location. Large windows in the main room and the basement bedroom have gorgeous views of the ocean. The house is older and quirky. Some things like flooring have been updated but other parts of the house are showing their age. The living room was spacious. Plenty of seating for our group of friends. The beds and bedding were comfy and clean. The kitchen was well stocked. The basement bedroom while large with two queen beds and the great view had a very small bathroom and tiny shower, also a millipede problem. The access to the beach was only for the adventurous as the last 6 feet you had to slide/jump down and then pull yourself up via a fence post about five feet up. Overall, we decided we would stay here again just for the great view.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming property in Brookings, OR, and were captivated by its breathtaking 180-degree panoramic views of the Oregon coastline. The highlight was undoubtedly the access to the beach via a trail from the backyard. Though the trail is a bit steep and we found alternative beach access easier for our family, the proximity to the ocean was spectacular.
The house itself is perched about 150 feet above the beach and has a lot of character, with all the quirks of an older home. While the photos slightly embellish the reality, the essence of the coastal retreat is well captured. It’s clear that the main attraction is the view, which is absolutely worth it. However, future visitors should note that the front and backyard areas are a bit overgrown and could use some maintenance.
Inside, the beds were dressed with clean and soft linens which I found quite comfortable, although my wife thought they were a bit lumpy. This might be a consideration for those who prefer a firmer mattress. While the property shows signs of wear and some of the areas are a bit dated, the charm of the old structure combined with some modern touches makes it quite cozy.
Overall, this house suited our family well as we are not overly particular and can appreciate the quirks of a lived-in space. We also manage a short-term rental and understand that some might find more to critique. This spot, with its phenomenal views and unique character, may not be for everyone.

I’ve been waiting to write this hoping it would get resolved, but I haven’t had anyone contact us. This house was great for what we needed until there was a large sewage leak and we were unable to use the entire downstairs. The point of contact was, and continues to be, incredibly helpful, however, they aren’t able to authorize a refund and we haven’t been able to contact anyone at the management company or the owners. We were unable to use 1/2 of the house we paid for plus it smelled of raw sewage. I hope they can process the refund because I would love to update this review with the positives that we experienced.

Honestly when we pulled up we weren’t sure about our pick. That all changed once we walked into the home. It was perfect for our family of all ages. The weather wasn’t great so we spent a lot of time in the house. It is just a very nice quirky place that allowed us to gather together, but enough room for older kids to have their own space. We will most definitely be coming back!!

This house has zero curb appeal, but the inside is fine. The kitchen is very well stocked. The beds were all very comfortable. The view is amazing, and the walk down to the beach is beautiful but definitely for the able bodied. The bedroom with the two queen beds is downstairs along with the washer and drier and the second small bathroom. This is a very spacious room. The biggest drawback of our stay was millipedes that were everywhere downstairs. We killed or removed them and they would instantly replenish. We only found one upstairs, so thankfully they are not good climbers. There was one under a pillow on one of the beds. I don’t know if these bugs are year round residents or if our stay coincided with a hatch. Regardless, it wasn’t great.Everything else about our stay was very nice. Members of our party are not fond of creepy crawly things, so we won’t be staying here again. If you don’t mind bugs, or you don’t need to go downstairs, this is a good place to stay.

If you want a great view then this is a great place to stay! It was clean and comfortable! It has a wonderful little hiking path to the beach we took everyday! Thank you!

The view was great and the private beach access was worth the stairs. :) Weather was fantastic!

The view was great, the house was ok and the basement was not. The double bed bedroom was in the basement and none of us felt comfortable staying down there due to how musty it was. Overall the house was not as clean as we are accustomed to when renting vacation homes. The walk down to the beach was steeper than expected, but doable. The beach area is small. The kids enjoyed the games and ping pong. We loved the blackberries in the driveway!

We had a great time at this property with a million dollar view! We were not able to use the beach access as we attempted to but after the second sign saying almost there it got really muddy and I didn't know how much further we had to go; it would have been helpful to know as I may have attempted it but we didn't want to chance it. We got down to other beaches. A deer walked up the path as we were packing up in the downstairs basement which was amazing; it stood at the window for a few minutes and was eating the orange flowers and then it walked down the beach path no problem! HAHA We could not use the downstairs shower as the shower head is to low, better for kids not adults. There is a bit of a musty smell downstairs as well and there isn't a dresser to put cloths away and no hangers in the closet. The kitchen was well equipped. It is a bit dated but all in all I'd give this property a 10 specifically for the views and location. The living room chairs have a strange smell, I think they might need cleaning. Thank you for sharing your home!

We loved our own private Beach and the great views we where very happy with everything 👍😃

House was in nice location but overgrown shrubbery limited some views and was a major distraction. Front of the house had same problem and looked very unkept. The back of the house faces the ocean so the shrubs should all be cut down to not limit the view. Downstairs bedroom looks over ocean but 10 ft tall shrubs hide the view completely. Plus no screens on the downstairs windows. Otherwise we would have opened them up to help minimize the musty/moldy odors. We kept the downstairs pocket door closed to help minimize the musty smells. Unlikely we will be returning.

Our stay at Serenity by the Sea was wonderful. The house had everything we needed. My kids loved the walk to the beach, it is magical. The beach area is secluded and the views are amazing. If I were to travel to the Brookings area again, I would absolutely book this house.

We had an amazing time at this house. The views are so beautiful from the deck and the large windows in the house. The house was clean and nice. We will go back here in the future.

The view is absolutely incredible! The beach house is older, but comfortable. The beach is amazing, but a little tricky to get down to. It’s pretty much a private beach. Lots of sea stars and sea anemones at low tide. We even saw a little otter running across the beach a few times. There were some ants in the house, but did I mention the view? It is absolutely phenomenal! There are lots of great hikes in the area. Secret Beach is a must! Brookings is a great area to explore. This beach house is a great place to do it from. Nice private location with the most amazing view!

When you walk in you can see the gorgeous Pacific Ocean. The house was plenty big enough for all 9 of us. The kids and parents enjoyed the Ping Pong table. The private beach access was very helpful with running the extra energy out of the grandchildren. The rental manager was very informative and helpful. Very pleasant and peaceful stay, we hope to be back!
6.0
Amazing view from multiple rooms. It does have direct access to the beach but the last 12 feet looks washed out from the ocean, so there was a large muddy drop at the end of the long path to get down to the beach. There is a heavy musty smell especially in the basement room. It appears that there is a dehumidifier in the basement, but wasn’t on because it was “full”. Also, the home appears to be in the middle of a remodeling phase as half of the house appears nice and new, and the other half older a musty. Very clean otherwise. There is a nice leather sofa in the living room, and a smaller sofa that folds out to a bed if needed.

We had a wonderful time at this house. The big picture windows and the deck had fabulous views of the ocean! The house was clean and well kept. We did try to go down the path to the beach and almost made it. The path was clear and easy enough for us ( we are in our 60s) but the very last part had washed out and we couldn't get down the drop off. I'm sure the weather contributed to the washed out part. We'll try it again next time. Overall, it was a great place for us to stay while visiting the coast!

This property was so AWFUL that I will NEVER rent another home through any third-party property rental sites, etc again. I honestly cried when I got there - very late, as it happens so we had to stay the night since there was no place else available that I could reach, and sleeping in the cars was not an option. The photos are entirely misleading. Kudos to the photographer for making it look great, the reason I booked it in the first place. Of course, the photos can't give you a sense of the moldy musty smell. There were ants all over the kitchen. We had to put all our food in the fridge. The place has a strange layout but the worst was the downstairs "room." Terrible musty odor. No working outlets. The bathroom shower looked like you would drop through the floor. Terrible reno job - I'd bet money that the wiring isn't to code. Dirt and dead bugs in the cemented-over hole in the wall that they call a fireplace. Seriously unbelievably bad. I never write reviews because my stays are generally fine, although they were getting more and more disappointing I must admit, but this was the last straw. This is the only bad review I've ever written - and I'm writing it months after we stayed at this place. I just couldn't let it go when my parents suggested taking another family trip back to Brookings. I logged into my account to look for a place and I just thought "what am I doing? the last place was so horrible I don't trust any of the photos or the reviews anymore since there are positive reviews about this place." So, I booked alternative lodging instead. I think it's against their guidelines to name what kind. Anyway, so I thought I would actually take the time to write a review and warn somebody else... assuming you get to read it. I received a notice that my initial review violated their guidelines. They didn't tell me what so I have no idea what they find offensive. Maybe I'm not supposed to leave a bad review? So, I'm rewriting this to be as specific as possible and not use the name of any businesses, including their own. Anyway, I will say that the large back deck and views of the ocean are the only positives but they are not worth it. I would have left that night if I could have found other lodging that would have worked for my entire family.

We were excited to finally get to the house and upon entering the smell of mold or a musty odor was present.
They had everything you’d need pretty much but beds and linens were terrible. The property manager was very helpful over the phone to help us get the heat on.
If you are used to the finer things in life I’d say this one is not for you.

Great service. Nice and very willing to help. I had no issues with the house and it was perfect for what we needed and it gave us the chance to make family relationships stronger.

We had seniors and I honestly didn't know the one bedroom was downstairs...with the tiniest bathroom ever. The property is a little older and could do with some maintenance. The smell of mold was unsettling along lots of flies and spiders. But living room was fantastic. There's lots of little extras that make staying here exceptional.

Beautiful main level of home with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. Snuggle up by the fireplace while watching the sunset.

Our family met here as a central location from Montana, California and Nevada for an extended weekend getaway. The house location was great and the private hike to the beach was really special (but very difficult with physical limitations). We enjoyed our time here.
The home has had several updates, but is an 80's era home on the coast, so keep this in mind when booking. The home had all the kitchen utensils we needed, but could use some new pans for cooking. Overall, we would use this property again when visiting.

Nice location with amazing views of the ocean
The views were just amazing. However, the house is a bit old but it is well furnished. The only reason I took couple stars from the review was because (1) linens were a bit dirty, (2) microwave was not working, (3) I tried calling the manager on Saturday but did not get a response, (4) the trash cans outside were all full, so cleaning and dumping more stuff as required, took a bit of an effort…but otherwise, kids loved it…the beach in the backyard was very clean (it is a bit of a steep hike so do not recommend it for elderly).

Delightful and welcoming
This house was the perfect get away for my kids and grandkids. Amenities like ping pong, corn hole and even an arcade game kept everyone entertained and off their phones. More chess was played than there was screen time. The views are unmatched!

Nice spot
We had a nice time. Excellent views, quiet.
The only problem were the flies. There were scores of them in the living room. One landed into my wine, and that was disappointing.

Amazing Views!
The property and furnishing were beautiful and comfortable. I would like privacy shades or heavier drapes on the upstairs bedrooms, but I slept well and completely enjoyed myself.
