The apartment is small but has everything you need. The bed is really comfortable. The location is near a Subway station. Perfect to explore New York for a few days

The quality of the bed was okay. They were toiletries and water and stuff on the fridge (free? I don’t know) The location isn’t far from two metro lines.
This was a terrible experience. The owner is rude, disrespectful, you can hear her shouting morning to night, and there’s isn’t a bone of kindness in her. The place is old and noisy. Bathroom is dirty and the door doesn’t even really close, you can be seen from it while having a shower. The owner prefers to accuse every guest of not reading her policies rather than making them clearer on the website. She refused to gave me a receipt for the deposit but sent me at 10pm to an atm to get the money instead of telling me when I met her earlier. The room was not ready at the agreed arrival time. She also accused me of having being reported for misconduct previously on booking (and made a whole scene on the street about it) because she saw the option on the app to report me, which is like accusing someone to having sent an email draft just because there is a “send” button below it. I have NEVER had such a terrible experience in any accommodation before ever. And her prices are not even that cheap, go to a hostel, you’ll be way better treated and feel safer than here. She also threaten to put me out at night without a refund… very unstable lady.

Good location near the metro on neighborhood block. Cassandra is very supportive and responsive and has thought of every detail in effort to make you comfortable. The place is clean, tidy, comfortable. It’s good for an economical stay with shared bath.
Like most NYC apartments, Stairway is narrow. Fine for nimble stairclimbers.

Clean and very welcoming at first, supplies, living neighbourhood still allowding to rest while I was there, direct line to Manhattan and nice area unless you are looking for gentrified Brooklyn
The atmosphere got a bit weird but that's ok, felt safe and a good starting point to visit NYC centre and west if it is your intention to spend your time outdoor

Location close to subway. Good price quality.
Casandra has been absolutely rude with me after my stay. I have had a significant number of stays with booking and never experienced such a thing...I apparantly accidentally switched off the refrigerator for which I apologized. But she was very rude with me and even blamed me for destroying her coffee machine.

liked the cleanliness of the bedroom and bathroom, was comfortable to sleep in. the free commodities and extras included were nice.
the water for the shower took time to figure out and you have to find the sweet spot to not have ice cold water or scolding hot. also the ac cord didn’t have a outlet to be able to reach to plug into

Awesome host: was warmly welcomed and she was contactable if I ever needed anything; she’s the main reason why I give this place a 10
The survival kit and other goodies in the refrigerator (to be paid but affordable) were a pleasant surprise; I also received a poncho upon departing as it was raining (this was a lifesaver)
Shared bathroom never posed a problem
Great location: many public transportation possibilities nearby and also close but far enough from the hustle and bustle of the city
Wi-Fi also available but I didn’t test it as I had a data plan
For my short stay, nothing to complain about
I’d definitely choose to stay here again if the option was available while in New York

Location was excellent. 4 Subway lines very close by. Good range of coffee shops along Rockaway Ave in either direction. The host had supplied clean towels and "survival kit" extras like deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrushes, safety pins and plasters, shower gel and body lotion. The fridge contained bottles of water, cans of pineapple juice, instant breakfast oats, animal crackers and fig rolls - which were unexpected and a nice surprise. Ironing board in the closet with an iron, plus a hairdryer. Netflix available. Good WiFi. The bathroom is shared, which is fine. Shower was hot and pressure was good. Would stay here again.
We never did meet the host. Grateful that a young guy on the stoop was helpful and asked someone in the house for a key for me and helped me lug my bags up the stairs. The toilet is positioned right behind the bathroom door which was awkward and the door was hanging on one door hinge so had to lift the door by the handle which was was loose, to close it. The floor tiles around the toilet were cracked and the lock didn't work. A shelf by the basin to put bath kit on would have been nice. The fragrance sachets in bedroom and bathroom were a bit overpowering. To us these were things we could overlook as we were out all day. We weren't expecting 5 star because we weren't paying for it. Overall, it was fine.
