The hotel was a bit rundown and dirty. The food quality was average at the buffet. We book dinner at the steak house but they gave us a hard time because we were 15 minutes late.

The food is good, lots of options for salads, fruits, ect, lacking meat options! The staff in the beach and pool area are fantastic as well the lunch restaurant by the pool was excellent! The only real disappointment was at the adults only area! The staff was snobby/rude, went there for lunch once, we didn't get a drink! Noone even acknowledged us, obviously didn't return to that area! Proble wont return because we prefer renting something on its own and eating at little restaurants intown!

We were upgraded to a suite with a pool. The room was wonderful, great location and the pool was fantastic. Overall the room was great, but could definitely use some TLC and updates. The air conditioning in our room was VERY loud. It was near the pool so was loud outside, but that didn't bother us at all. We enjoyed the music and hustle and bustle. The CG pools are filled with families and kids. The 5th floor pool is party central and the Hacienda pool was beautiful and adult only. The food was decent. Similar to a cruise. The drinks were plentiful but until you asked for alcohol in the drink, they were more virgin like. The beach was incredible. Lots of chairs and umbrellas, the water was so clear, and the sand was raked every morning.
We would go back knowing that the experience is like a cruise ship on land!

Stayed for 3 nights. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The pools were warm and the food was plentiful and delicious. Staff were amazingly helpful. I will return.

Underwhelming stay. Staff were very unfriendly and unwelcoming, they seemed very annoyed by guests. It was unusual compared to other experiences I have had in Mexico. The other guests we spoke to also said they felt unwanted by the staff. The restaurants were challenging to get in for dinner and when we did finally get in the food was not great when we did get in. Wifi did not work during our stay. Our toilet would not flush the last day we were there. I wouldn’t recommend or stay here again.

The family side of the hotel is in very poor condition. Not well kept at all. Adult side is better but overall the food is not good. All of which makes this resort overpriced. Service could be better overall.
First room we had, the sink didnt drain and there was a brown stain on the wall of the toliet room - what could have it been??? They would do well to wipe down the walls every now and then. Hallway was filled with died flies and took them 2 days before they cleaned it.
As for language - usually when I go to an AI there is a language barrier but this one was worse than most Ive experienced.

We enjoyed our stay last year so much that we returned this year. Our group had several partial ocean and full ocean view rooms once again. No issues with any of them and mini fridges were adequately stocked. The property is well maintained and clean. Food was very good and plentiful. Lots of options at the buffet with theme dinners throughout the week. The specialty restaurants don’t require reservations anymore and offer three seatings. If you wait in line at one restaurant and can’t get in, however, there’s no option to try another so you can enjoy the buffet instead. The pool was clean and refreshing, but the chair game is in full play (just like everywhere else). Lots of activities offered throughout the day including beach volleyball, pool volleyball, bingo, arts and crafts and pool side games. Lots of fun. The evening entertainment is hit and miss but the Michael Jackson show continues to be entertaining. They also offer karaoke in the lobby but it was a bit much. The staff are terrific. Guillermo and Felix will take good care of you around the pool and beach areas. Daniel at reception was always friendly and helpful. All in all it was another wonderful stay. We’re already making plans to return next year.

The property was very dated. The restaurants closed and open sporadically. We had items stolen from our room and I ended up with food poisoning the last day I was there for eating a hotdog at the beach bar the staff was good and I have actually not too many complaints about them

I find it ridiculous that i can drink all the beer i want but was told i would have to buy water when we ran out of the 3 -10 0z bottles in our room in a day Also the food at the buffet was of poor quality and never warm. i would not consider a return to any of the properties of this group[

My boyfriend and I were here for 15 days in Feb, we had previously stayed at the same property when it was owned by the Hilton. Unfortunately, the new owners are not maintaining this property to the same standard, furniture at the resort is old and stained, lighting in the lobby needs to be replaced, and there are nearly no pool towels available to guests, everyday you wait hours for them and have to constantly go back to the towel station to check if they’ve arrived (I read other reviews that new towels would be there in mid February, however we were there until the last day of February and the towels were a problem everyday). When we checked in they put us in a lower class room than we had originally booked, the room had bugs so the next day we asked to be moved into the room we booked, we were told it was “unavailable” and we’d have to wait 2 days to get it. When the Hilton owned it you had access to all the restaurants on the property, however they have changed things where you only have access to 2 restaurants and the buffet, to make things worst they give access to all the restaurants at the sister resort-so when their two restaurants fill they flood ours, treating us like second class citizens.
The only things this hotel has going for them is good entertainment, great food, and AMAZING SERVICE. We were treated incredibly well by the staff and if we choose to return in the future those will be the only reasons. They need to keep staff happy or this hotel will fail.

Reception staff weren’t very accommodating. Some didn’t have necessary language skills. Staff overall weren’t very friendly with the exception of Daniel and Carlos beach wait staff, and Luis buffet wait staff. They get 5 stars.

The property was nice, th staff was great.
It was very busy and hectic during the dirst week we we're there. Unable to get beach lounge chairs or lounge chairs by the pool.
It was very disappointing, will probably try different vacation times or another resort.

The pools were great, the food at the restaurants was good. The food at the buffet was below average, there were long lines and they seemed disorganized. They also frequently ran out of certain dishes. The staff were friendly but you could only ever get 1 drink and almost no service at the pool. They didn't bring us enough towels for the room and getting towels for the pool was difficult. There were not enough chairs at the pool and they sporadically enforced the chair- saving rule.

Property was beautiful (hacienda suite side), especially the garden and swimming pool area. Our shower and bathroom drain were super slow (water seeped outside shower area into rest of the bathroom), had to have maintenance people come fix it and they were only able to fix the shower. Service was very friendly, food was OK. Overall, great experience for the price!

This definitely isn’t a 5 star resort - it’s decent, not amazing. The food was good most days. We did eat off resort a few nights because Puerto Vallarta has so many amazing options that shouldn’t be missed. We had an upstairs balcony in our room and we never used the jacuzzi up there - it didn’t look all that clean. I was also really hoping for loungers up there, however it was just a bunch of wasted space. The thing that really stood out for us during our trip was the staff at this place - they were all so friendly and polite. We were blown away by all of our waitstaff all week. They made up for it being just a decent resort!

The property itself was very good. The staff are awesome except for the French restaurant, too long of wait and service was so slow. The rooms are Ok, updated but not complete when we got there. There were only 2 bath towels, coffee machine was not working. Outlets was not working because the card was not in the power slot by the front door. The privacy sign was not in there room. AC was weak. No hand towel and face towel in the room.
We asked for all of the items on the 2nd day but only the towels came and the card for the power slot.
Generally food was very good and the pool was awesome. It was still a great vacation because I do not stay in the room but just to sleep. We are outside most of the time.

We did not like the fact that people reserve pool and beach chairs for others who never show-up, thusly tying up all access all-day long. Food options should be better regarding options. Restaurant options still have a poor service record. Considering other options for next year!

The staff was very friendly, but the facility needs improvement.
The room got cold at night. After having multiple maintenance workers come to the room and being told multiple times to ‘wait a few minutes the room will get warmer’ someone finally told us (after 3 hours) that the temperature cannot go higher than 21 degrees Celsius.
We got a notice that they were spraying for bugs on Thursday which subsequently made the bugs come out …I killed a very large roach in our room that night. The desk in the room was infested with tiny small bugs. Anytime we left a cup on the desk (empty or not) the next day there would be around 10-15 tiny bugs inside.
There are few to no vegan options. I ate French fries and steamed vegetables at least once a day (sometimes twice a day) because there were no non-meat/non dairy options.
There are multiple restaurants but the only take 40 people for 4 seatings and you cannot make a reservation ahead of time. Everyone shows up at 6:30 and then they tell you to come back at 7:30, and then 8:30 etc.
There is a definite language barrier and although I do speak limited Spanish if I asked a question (inquiring about the Ingredients of the food, or the air, or getting towels) it was as if they didn’t want to disappoint me so they would tell me what I wanted to hear instead of just saying the truth.
I had been to this establishment when it was owned by Hilton, although the price is the same the quality is not. Definitely not worth the price I paid.

This hotel is VERY mediocre- spacious rooms- but had horrible smell. Pool area is great and service staff at pool were awesome.
The front desk staff were grumpy and unhelpful. I waited 2 days to get towels in the room. Buffet was average. Specialty restaurant took almost 2 hours to bring a plate of pasta to our table. They took 4 days to respond to an email inquiry. I think they are understaffed and the staff appear unhappy. I would not stay here again. So many other options for the price.

Dinners on the buffet sucked, out of 10-12 options maybe 2 were decent, but I could tell most people had leftovers of some foods on their plates, and the good ones ran out as soon as they were served again.
The servers on the buffet at lunch were dismissive and intentionally didn't look at your table when raising our hand, we did finish our plate a couple of times with nothing to drink.
They had a couple of leaks in their restaurants, and broken tables we had to move several times.
The room cleaning service was pretty much non-existent out of 5 days, they only went once, we were out of the room from 9:30-10:00 am up to 3-4 pm and we used the door thing to ask for service.
We had to ask for clean towels, and it took them almost 2h to deliver them to the room, which was annoying since we wanted to shower to go out and couldn't do it in time.
The French restaurant was great, but the Italian service was just awful, we had a 9 pm reservation, and we spent like 20 min in line, then we got our first food plate almost at 10 pm, finishing close to 11 pm; the Steak House had poor service and they didn't even give us the food we asked.
The towels car by the pool (hacienda) was always empty and unattended.
The hotel was half empty so it wasn't much work from what I have seen on hotels this size, there were plenty of employees from what I could tell, and on the individual level most of them were kind and polite, I think it's just poor management.

The check in was a nightmare, it took them 2 hours to check us in, the guy at the reception was unbelievable rude, and did not performed at its best. It is the only thing they need to work on and improve, for the rest o f the Stay it was ok .

The property is amazing, my family and I had the best vacation. We stayed on property for most of the vacation, there are many activities and the staff is the best. Five star staff and facility. I had a scheduling conflict on arrival and the staff went above and beyond to help correct my situation. At the front desk, Lucy was the best. She was able to fix my problem without hesitation, We received the best service from everyone at the front desk. At the bar, Jose was an outstanding bar tender. He continued to provide excellent service even at the most busiest of times. I have been to the property three times in the past year and I will continue to book all of my vacations here. I want to say "thank you" to everyone working on the property. Easy access to the airport, outstanding front desk service, amazing bar service, tremendous house keeping and the ground are always kept clean. We had the best time here thanks to everyone working to provde excellent service.
