Now, this is an excellent stay, despite some issues I'll explain further below.
The hostess is charming and the staff are very attentive, it is located about 8 minutes from the train station and the Stubnerkogel cablecar on foot, the views from the balcony are amazing and the dinning room is really cozy. There's also an EuroSPAR that closes at 19:30 on weekdays and 18:00 on Saturdays just 5 minutes from the hotel, on the way to the station.
Breakfast is good, though not the most varied you'll find out there.
The room was quite comfortable and very clean, it had a TV, a chair and a small table. The balcony had its own chair and table.
The walk to the town's centre (the waterfall!) is a bit longer and steeper, expect it to take about 12 or 15 minutes, but it is still quite close. There's also a marvelous pizzeria in the town called La Pizzeria Napoletana, it's a convenient place to have lunch or dinner nearby.
However, there were a few caveats that weighed in on my experience, hence the score of only 8/10. Do note that these issues may only apply for the one person room!
First of all, the shower was uncomfortably small. There was no way to shower without constantly rubbing different bodyparts against the shower curtain, and I am not big at all. Also, because of this it is impossible to place the shower curtain on the inside of the shower's edge, and water just drips along the curtain onto the bathroom's floor, swamping it while you shower.
Second, no shower gel or shampoo is provided. You can just walk 5 minutes to the SPAR to get some, but it's not particularly nice to carry a bottle of shower gel around.
Third and more of a summer problem, the room had no window, only a door out into the shared balcony, which rules out sleeping with the door open. Another issue with the door is that the curtains are too translucent, you can sort of see the inside of the room from the balcony at night if the light is on.
And lastly and perhaps less important, the TV remote only worked properly if it was close enough to the TV, thus I couldn't really control the TV form the bed, but had to sit up and really extend my arm towards the TV, which was annoying.

The hotel owner was very hospitable and kind. The room is very clean. The location is very close to central Station and the spa. Great mountain view from the balcony. I had a very good stay and will definitely come back soon.

You can only receive such a friendly welcome and personal touch from a family run pension. Doris and her daughter were super nice and always available for any enquiry or request. The breakfast was super good and there was plenty of food available. The whole structure including the room was a bit dated but this local typical old school interiors is what makes the pension charming and warm. Falsentherme, Eurospar and the trian station are just 5-7 mins walk from the hotel.

This is a nice, family owned hotel on the edge of town close to the river. You can hear the rushing water as you fall asleep. The room was a bit small but well set up and it has a little balcony to sit n and enjoy the view of the mountains and forests. The lovely lady who owns the hotel greeted us, helped to bring our e-bikes indoors to the storage room which has electric connections for charging the batteries. She also helped carry our luggage upstairs and recommended an excellent restaurant for dinner. The hotel provides umbrellas for the guests. Breakfast was very nice in a pretty dining room.
The room was a bit tight with nowhere open your luggage.

Perfect location (especially for those without a car), amazing breakfast, and a very kind host! Loved my stay here, and will be very happy to return for another stay whenever I am in Bad Gastein next.
Nothing. Everything was great!

Fabulous and fantastic experience overall!
The location is so quiet but at the same time in a heart of Bad Gastein. Is placed near of supermarket and in between two lifts and near the rail station so it is very easy to get everywhere!
The hotel is very cozy, super clean, very lovely design and style. We have had a double room with a balcony and beautiful view of mountains! You can feel this house is very traditional and is kept in a great condition with love and care.
The breakfast is very diverse, with fresh local products and fruits, nice quality! The restaurant has many windows and you can see the mountains and enjoy the view.
The owner Doris is amazing! For us is important the hospitality. Doris is always very helpful and friendly, she gave many advices what to do and where to go.
Just love this place and highly recommend!

Location of the hotel was perfect: 5 min on foot to the main ski lift, Felsentherme, Spar supermarket, railway station...and always flat. Breakfast is the hotel was awesome as well as owners of the hotel were very friendly and supportive. Room was always tidy and clean. Wonderful views from all the windows and the terrace in our room.
Next time I decide to come to Bad Gastein, I'll definitely stay in the same hotel
