Third visit to Cleugh Manor. The facilities for a family are excellent. Children loved the pool and cinema room. Adults enjoyed the sauna, hot tub and snooker table.
Well- equipped kitchen. Lovely clean towels and bedding. A few things need sorting, light bulbs in lamps, extra cleaning around windows, some dirty oven pans and it would be lovely to have an updated (even partially covered) outdoor area for barbecues in all weathers. The addition of the tennis court gave us lots of family fun so all in all a great place and we’ll definitely be back in the future. The staff make you very welcome.

Manor house is impressive when you drive up the drive and looks stunning. We had a hot water issue but thought it was over use but turns out pilot had gone out so we had no hot water for 2 days but was sorted quickly on the last day when we reported it. Kids enjoyed the pool and hot tubs. Adults enjoyed the sheer space and outside courtyard and BBQ. Paul the gardener was super helpful when the gates would not open and we had to scale the wall. The reservoir was beautiful and well worth a stroll around. Some areas could possibly do with a deep clean as some cobwebs very evident in places you can reach, especially in the conservatory. I obviously don't mean the high ceilings etc as that would be impossible in a large house that size. Loved the experience and it was enjoyed by all the party of all ages.

Wonderful Cleugh Manor. Beautiful house and gardens and lovely and helpful staff. Facilities great and not too precious. A touch of a grand life in a friendly safe and happy space. A time for healing together and having fun xxxxx loved the cinema. Mind and switch off projected volume or you will hear everything in double our top tip x

Cleugh Manor was the perfect place to have a 12 person family holiday. Lovely rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms and grounds. Plenty spaces to socialise but also plenty space if quiet time was needed. The kids (aged between 5 and 10) adored the pool, the games room and the tennis court and all had a whale of a time! Adults enjoyed the hot tubs, steam room and gym. Some wonderful memories have been made and it was actually a wrench to leave this beautiful house after our week!
The two Pauls were very welcoming and helpful and we appreciated our wine and biscuits very much!
My one and only negative observation is the whiffy toilet under the stairs, the smell tending to spread into the hallway.

lovely large property with lots of facilities, it is quite remote if you want to tour the area but really good for large groups

Great private quiet spot. Lovely grounds, lots of space and good facilities. Sauna and steam room were not in use but pool and hot tub were great. Fridge in utility wasn’t as cold as should be in spaces however the house was overall really good. Lovely spacious rooms allowing out large family group to spread out. We loved the stay and will definitely be back!

Stayed here with family group of 12. Plenty room for everybody The cinema room and games room were well used as were the hot tubs Lovely to sit in dining room for large family dinners. All in all a lovely house Thank you to Paul for meeting us and showing us around. Will be back again

Wow! The pictures do not do this place justice! The house is amazing. Paul was great at explaining everything on our arrival. As the family arrived they were in awe of the size and magnificence of the house. We loved the cinema room, the hot tub, the cozy living area and especially the games room. A walk up to catcleugh reservoir is a must. We had an issue with one of the outside trains on the Saturday, we called the maintenance guy and he was there in 10 minutes. Kids are desperate to come back when it’s summer, they want to try the pool!

Grandparents arrived in the afternoon and were warmly welcomed by Paul who showed us around before our (essential) online shopping arrived so that we could make a cuppa. We were just delighted by the house which exceeded our expectations. The rest of the family arrived in dribs and drabs and each was wowed when they had their 'tour'. As others have said, the photos just don't do justice to the house which is huge and full of high quality furnishings. Our ages were from 2 to 72 and each and every one of us had a really great few days and made use of pretty well everything. Cinema and games room on the rainiest day, play in the pool every day (chilly to get in but fine for 30 minutes or so with a warm up in the hot tub afterwards). (Tip - take crocs or pool shoes for walking back to the house), many games of billiards, toasting marshmallows on the fire pit in the evening, several walks in the grounds to the reservoir - with the building of a forest den, and lovely family meals cooked in the amazing kitchen with appliances for every purpose. We knew that the house was quite remote and wondered how it would be - it just didn't matter at all as there was such a lot to do at the house. Groups made two trips to the Kielder observatory - the children's event was particularly brilliant even though the weather was cloudy.
The What Three Words location of the entrance to the driveway (which is quite hard to see in the dark in bad weather) is: residual.pave.joints

It’s our second time staying here as we wanted to see the house and grounds in the summer. We weren’t disappointed. It was lovely to have use of the swimming pool and hot tub and enjoy the gardens and surrounding countryside. There is something for everyone at the house, meaning young and old are happy and relaxed. We’ll be back again!

Booked for 12 adults. Location as described, house large enough to give everyone their own space, if going walking suitable shoes required. Swimming pool huge hit as were the hot tubs, cinema room and games room. Would have been ideal if we could have put the outside lights on at night as very dark coming in, internet connection not brilliant, some stuff found lying about in the bedrooms that obviously hadn’t been found and removed by cleaners, but overall an enjoyable weekend .

Lovely property with loads of things to keep us entertained on a rainy day. Loved the pool and games room especially.

We had a wonderful week at Cleugh Manor celebrating a family birthday. This is the perfect setting for a multi generation holiday and we made full use of all of the great facilities. The 5 days of rain did not spoil our stay as there was so many things to do and space to spread out and relax. The kitchen is well equipped and a pleasure to use and every room has it’s own unique features which kept everyone happy. We will definitely be back!

My overall rating should be a 4.5 star rather than a 5 star because the stay wasn't perfect, but it was excellent.
The two Pauls who were on site were splendid. Paul who showed us around told us almost everything we needed to know. Paul the gardener was a source of excellent local knowledge.
The house is huge with large en suite bedrooms, and a huge number of reception rooms. We very much enjoyed the games room, with a full size snooker table (which demonstrated our lack of skill) and table football. The two hot tubs and steam room were heavily used, especially by the youngest adults. The swimming pool was cold as the water had been recently changed, but it warmed up during the week. Everyone enjoyed the pool. The tennis court was a wonderful surprise.
The kitchen was well equipped. The cinema room was a disappointment as we could only use DVDs as streaming didn't connect to the projector. The TVs in all the rooms were just big screens: none of the many Sky boxes seemed to work.
The surroundings are very beautiful and this is a very good place to relax. Not ideal as a base for sightseeing: Jedburgh is the closest town and that is 25 minutes away. Most other sites an hour or more away.
Overall: the house is great for a relaxing family get together. Not ideal for the youngest two in our party (I'd suggest not for 3 years old and younger). Too distant from anywhere to be a base for sightseeing. If you want somewhere for a big party to stay together its outstanding.

Beautiful house, amazing area BUT would have been even better had the swimming pool been working this being the main reason l booked this property for my family, not only was it not working but it was covered in thick green algea and l only was informed when we all arrived, very expensive, dissatisfied disappointed grandchildren, would even have pzid more if pool had been as advertised.

Steeped in character, remarkable recreational facilities, accommodating, a wonderful retreat .
Organise your catering in advance and you won’t need to go anywhere.
Thanks to all who made this visit so delightful.

What a fantastic holiday in an outstanding house with everything you could ever need rain or shine - we loved every minute and can’t wait to return! Thank you so much x

Pictures do not do this property justice, it’s beautiful and steeped in history. Loads of facilities in the house, cinema room was a big hit with our group.
Games room is phenomenal with a full size snooker table and lots of board games etc.
kitchen very well equipped with what you need for large groups. Top floor is a suite in itself with its own kitchen and 2 en-suite rooms, beautiful views over countryside (just be prepared for stairs). Washer and tumbler up there too.
Ample parking and grounds well kept.
Maintenance issues were dealt with promptly. We were given early access to the pool (usually available May) and it wasn’t warm which was a shame as we requested ahead of time, but some of us braved it.
It’s a dark walk up to the hot tub and pool, so take a torch if it’s later on.
Overall an amazing time in a beautiful location.

We had a lovely stay at the Manor the location is perfect secluded but with plenty to do there is lots of space in the house and many activities to keep you busy. The walks are beautiful and amenities in and outside the house are perfect. We would love to come back in Spring or Summer when the pool will be available for use. All in all we were very happy with our stay and have already recommended the property to friends

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cleugh Manor for NYE weekend. We were amazed at her grandness and beauty. Well maintained and comfortable.
A few minor issues, radiator not working in kids room made it cold, also the cindma room was chilly and the top floor felt cold also not much hot water when needed. We had a couple of power cuts which scared the kids and left the alarm beeping but read the book and found out how to sort it out.
Great for adults, the bar room and pool table were excellent in the evening. Loved the hot tub and the various rooms to relax in.
The house was trimmed up for Christmas which was extra nice.
Good big kitchen with everything you need, we cooked a few times and it was great and the dishwasher helped.
Loved the garden a d reservoir, had a couple of nice walks. Dogs loved it!!! The house is very isolated, which we liked but we needed suppliers and that was a long round trip.
Would like to return in summer when the outdoor pool is open.

What a house! There is something for everyone here and the photos don’t do it justice. Paul met us on arrival and was extremely helpful and welcoming. The teenagers particularly enjoyed the games room and cinema room. We had a wonderful, relaxing stay and despite the house being so big, it still felt cosy and very comfortable. We were all agreed we’d love to go back!

Really wonderful property which was perfect for our annual dinner. Location is superb with easy access the Kielder Forest road (now open all year we’ve been told) and nearby pubs and restaurants.
The cooking facilities were perfect to successfully cook a Christmas dinner for 6. All in all we had a lot of fun and are thinking this could be the standing location for our annual get together. Thanks again.
