Historic hotel with characterful rooms and gorgeous traditional reception area
The service and cleaning were poor, there was trash left on my balcony from a previous guest and all the corridors and common areas looked dusty and in need of a good vacuum. The pool area was filthy, the sun loungers were stained and patio tables and chairs dirty and unwashed. It did not look inviting and the pool seemed chained the entire time we were there (apparently there is a life guide sometime during the day when we were out sightseeing but in the afternoons when we returned it was always closed up; however since it looked so dirty we would not have swum anyway). Most of the hotel is closed (spa, sauna, 5th floor terrace, evening restaurant and pool bar - all closed with no mention of this on the website). It is definitely not a five star hotel and was a massive rip-off in terms of price. I would give it three stars for the charming old style rooms and fairly decent breakfast buffet if you can turn a blind eye and ignore all the other areas which are a bit gross and if they lower their exorbitant prices. If you decide to ignore the bad reviews like we did, and book there anyway, be warned to lower your expectations.

Beautiful building with excellent restoration done at one point..
Pool is much better than anticipated and staff was friendly.
Staff in the restaurant was best part, the women were all super friendly and aimed to please.
While beautifully restored, you can tell it is due for some polish.
The room wasn’t very clean.

The breakfast was very good, the service of the girl in the restaurant was excellent.
On Saturday the pool was opened at 10 am, I didn't like that. When we do the check out the girl at the reception was not friendly at all.

The hotel was great, breakfast was good and the pool area was nice.
The spa felt like a rip off. Paid for a massage but basically just had oil rubbed on me for 45 minutes.

The Staff is Europa 1917's treasure! From reception to wait staff at breakfast, we encountered friendly helpful staff. Even the construction workers who were doing some outdoor renovation were attentive, holding a door for us when we entered with our luggage. The room was very comfortable, the bathroom large with all the modern conveniences wrapped in an "old world" elegance. There is excellent WiFi, parking across the street, and an easy walk to "Old Tiberius" including the Shuk.
Lake view, but not lake side. Then again, we didn't expect lake side- so no disappointment on that score. The hotel is on a main thoroughfare; it's a bit noisy/busy at morning rush hour. However, we were not aware of street noise inside our room. If the hotel actually owns the gravel parking lot across the street; cleaning up the trash, paving it and allowing it to be reserved for hospitality patrons would enhance the guest experience.

Meals were served in a "chef's restaurant" that did not live up to our expectations. Dinner - while the salads were good there was little imagination in the main courses, and our most serious complaint is that the food was served lukewarm (at best). Dessert was also not a success. We knew breakfast on Saturday would be limited, but we expected more on Sunday morning. But instead, we got watery scrambled eggs and the same quiches from the previous day. In short, we were not satisfied by the food.

Beautiful place really nice and clean
We were charged for the pool but didn’t get no pool, we were really disappointed. Paid a lot for one night and it didn’t worth it.
4.0
Room was elegant
Breakfast was ample
Location was central.
I love the historical aspect of the hotel
It would have been helpful if they mentioned that the pool was under construction.
And for drivers, nice if they explained the parking options.
