Please no raging parties, but family get togethers, holiday celebrations, etc. are welcome as long as you clear it with us first. Please talk with us about your plans in our home prior to booking. Please let us know and keep parking to the driveway, garage and our side of the street since we're in a cul-de-sac.
Guest Access:
You'll have full access to the entire home, including the 2 car garage and large backyard. Please be respectful of our neighbors and only park in the driveway and garage (can fit 6+ cars).
The Neighborhood:
The neighborhood is an established neighborhood with lots of large trees. This is in a small pocket (a few blocks) of county in the heart of Colorado Springs, so feels a bit more rural, with no sidewalks. The county (not the city) maintains the roads, but otherwise you'd never know.
Getting Around:
You'll be centrally located about a mile from either Powers or Academy (major north/south roads) with lots of shopping, restaurants, etc. off of both. This is a suburban home so a car is going to be your best mode of transportation (true for most of Colorado Springs).
Other Things to Note:
This is a split level and has stairs, so is not handicap accessible.
We require ID verification, terms accepted, and security deposit for all reservations.

This unit is in a small pocket of county land the heart of the city, so is on a well and septic system. Please be mindful of your use of both. The water is a bit hard and is not treated by a city plant, so may have a different odor and you may notice it stains toilets; it is perfectly safe to drink and we have a water softener and treatment system for the whole house. Many people don't notice a difference.
Interaction with Guests:
We are available via messenger or phone/text to help with anything you need, we're located across town so you likely won't actually see us.

When we arrived, we came into the house and found that there was no running water anywhere. We call the emergency number and got an answering machine. After several hours with no response we found a hose in the backyard had been left on. After turning the hose off, we got water to flow but it was initially black and smelly. The next day the water was flowing clear, but the pressure was low and still smelled bad. The water issue aside, the rest of the house had issues like ripped screens, grill didn't work, carpets stained, light fixtures broken. The kitchen was sparsely furnished. Despite many calls and messages on the vbro message board it took host/management 3 days to call us back.
My recommendation is it is not worth it! Choose another property.

If you have high expectations for a vacation property, this is not your place. This property feels more like a rental property than a vacation home.
I won't go into all the details, but here are the major issues we encountered:
My husband's asthma was exacerbated each time he was in the house, and only in that house. We requested a refund within our first night there to stay somewhere else, but it was denied.
Cleanliness: The carpet was stained and worn down, no one would walk on the floors without socks or shoes. We found food and other debris under the couch. The couch itself looked like it came from a fraternity house. The towels downstairs were still wet when unfolded for use. We killed several spiders as well as a variety of bugs mostly in the downstairs living areas/bedrooms/and bathrooms which also meant no one wanted to stay in the lowest bedroom, making it a bit cramped upstairs. There were also used tissues shoved back into the boxes.
Customer Service: We addressed these issues with the property owners but only received generic auto responses from them or their "assistants".
Water Quality: Bring lots of bottled water for drinking. And just FYI, anytime you take a bath or shower, the area smells like rotted eggs, which is unbearable if you have a strong gag reflex.
Privacy: The advertised hot tub has a camera pointed directly at it, offering no privacy whatsoever.
We travel somewhere every year, and I have never once made a bad review until this property.

The house was located in a quiet neighborhood with nice scenery and deer were all around. The house had enough room for the entire family and the beds were so comfortable, which made it nice after having a full day of activities. The hot tub was nice to relax and wind down in after a long day.

If you make the time to get up early one morning and watch the sunrise rolling down the mountains while sitting on the back porch with a cup of coffee and maybe a blanket. You'll have an experience to remember watching the world wake up. The house was great, but the view from their back deck was spectacular. Something not every place can offer. If you come to see the mountains this is a good place to start.

Great location and nice home. The deer in the mornings were fun and they enjoyed the apple tree in the evening. Hot tub was nice. These owners have a gem. Need to keep improving areas such as kitchen pots and pans and towel qty in bathrooms. Overall really great place. I recommend it!

The house has great space for a large family. We had plenty of room for each person to have their own space. It was very accommodating for our group. Located in a very nice neighborhood, with a spectacular view of the mountains from the back deck. Nice, quiet neighborhood and well-maintained home. Communication with Ryan & his assistant was pleasant and easy. We would definitely love to stay here again!

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at this home. The neighborhood was quiet and conveniently located to where we needed to be. The hosts were amazing! They checked in with us to see if we needed anything & were very gracious. Wonderful property!

The home is spacious and the view is stunning. The location was good. It was great to have 2 living spaces and the work area on the lower level. We had a few problems and the communication could have been easier but our main issues were resolved. The well water has a sulfer smell, but not intolerable. We used the filtered refrigerator water to drink and it was fine. Overall it was a good experience.

Nice house. Well layed out for larger groups. Everyone was comfortable. Needs a little work on kitchen prep supplies and utensils to accommodate larger groups. As others have noted, there are water quality issues (smell and slight coloration).

Pseudomonas Folliculitis. After staying at the property from March 21 - March 24, 2023 6 of the 8 guests came home with red bumps/rashes. This is known as ‘Hot Tub Rash’ which appears after you sit in a poorly maintained pool/spa with dirty water and/or bad chemicals. We told the homeowners after our stay and they stopped communicating with me over 3 days ago, “I’ll be more attentive to your reply later. Alex, Ryan’s Assistant”. Outdoor Camera pointed at the Hot Tub. The Camera turned on frequently. We have small children in our group ranging in ages from 2-7 & as parents we were NOT comfortable with how often the motion light came on to record 2-7 year old children & adults in the Tub. Bring Your Own Drinking Water. I equate the water coming out of all sinks & faucets to be nearly identical to that of Glenwood Hot Springs Pool = STRONG SULFUR smell, NOT for consumption. The refrigerator water purifier was able to remove the smell and was the only source of cooking and drinking water for our trip. Bring Your Own Pots, Pans, Utensils & Spices to cook with. The cooking situation was abysmal. It looked like the house had been outfitted by pots and pans obtained at a garage sale; Slim to no utensils to use. No baking sheet/cookie tray. 1 roll of paper towels & 2 coffee filters for our 3 day stay. I WOULD NOT RECCOMEND THIS PROPERTY TO ANYONE.

We loved this property, clean and plenty of room! Perfect vacation spot, 15 minutes from Cheyenne Mountainside zoo.

Enjoyed the amount of space and privacy. Only thing wrong was there were several lightbulbs out. Made for a darker space. Otherwise the property worked wonderfully for our group and purposes!!

House and location great. Well water has major problem as all toilets are stained and the smell of the water is absolutely horrible when you shower. 3 year old grandson found a prescription sleeping pill in a kitchen cabinet, thankfully we were watching and were able to remove it from his mouth. Returned from dinner one night to find a huge sign from neighbor taped to front door complaining about lawn upkeep. Hopefully, the owner will clean up these items.

Enjoyed our stay! Comfy beds, comfy couch in the den. The only thing we didn't love was the odor of the water, very metallic-y iron type smell...

We stayed for 4 days while we played and explored around Colorado Springs. We had two families with a total of 13 people. This home was large and had tons of space for everyone to be comfortable. The kids loved the hot tub. The home is in a great area with easy access to everything you need. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
