Cosy cottage by the sea
Clean and cosy cottage with adequate equipment in kitchen for cooking purposes. Note that the bathroom is downstairs off kitchen we only found out it was downstairs by looking at the owners site originally at time of booking believed it was upstairs. Back access leads directly to beach. Back outside space all decked and will be lovely in sunny days. Front to property has a lovely table and chairs and hammock. Cottage is dog friendly and stair gate in use to prevent dog going upstairs. Beds were comfortably with white crisp linen. Another couple joined us for a few days and found the cottage to be spacious enough with 4 adults. The owner of the cottage (James) was a fantastic host. Warm and welcoming and could not have done enough for us. Amazing fish and chips from Ryans and the Indian restaurant is a must beat Naan bread ever!

Relaxation, seashore and sun,
Arrived in sunshine, it lasted all week. The house was very comfortable, good quality throughout, all requirements catered for. We visited meal suggestions from the owner, all good . We had many lovely walks along sand dunes, coastal routes spotting seals and enjoying coffee stops . Caister had enough local facilities
A really enjoyable break

Lovely to be so near the sea. A real privilege to see the seal pups at Horsey - a seal even made an appearance near the cottage! Ryan’s fish and chips and the butchers shop nearby are very goodJames (the cottage owner) was very friendly and helpful. Cottage was warm and cosy especially with a roaring fire. Access road isn’t as bumpy as we’d expected but a little narrow in one place. Our Tiguan was fine. Thanks for a nice peaceful break

A perfect spot for a seaside getaway
This beautiful cottage is literally on the beach and is all recently renovated to a nice specification. It has everything you need from a home away from home, it’s clean, well maintained and cosy. James is usually about to help with suggestions of things to do and places to eat locally. His recommendations we tried were spit on, (Ryan’s chippie and the Indian restaurant). We had two quite big dogs and both the front and back gardens were useful and well contained. I can highly recommend it and would more than happily stay there again if I go to Norfolk again. It would be nice to try it in the summer, but it was ok for a winter break, bearing in mind you are literally on the beach.

Delightful Getaway.
Loved the cottage. Immaculate and adorable rolled into one complete package. Steps from beach. James, the owner, was great with ideas for our stay. We had just spent 5 days in London and the cottage was perfect for us. Quiet and yet walking distance to shops. We will be back!

The cottage is well looked after and has everything you need for a break away with the family. It is in a great location next to a lovely big but quiet beach. James the owner is so friendly and helpful which made us feel even more welcome. Overall a perfect holiday for us with our 2 year old twins!

Lovely Stay
Great location, five steps and your on the beach ! Lovely listening to the sea at night with the window open . Your located at the end of a lane so you won’t be bothered with passing traffic . Lots to see and do in the vicinity. Recommend Ryan’s Fish and Chip shop ! Only five minutes walk away . Boat ride on the Broads is a must . As is Time and Tide museum in Great Yarmouth . Shame about our weather for our week , but lovely stay .

Perfect place to stay
We stayed at Coastguard cottage early June and it really did not disappoint, in fact I would say that it’s better than we could have imagined, which you can rarely say nowadays. The property is homely, clean and has everything you need. The owner was happy to help with anything we needed and very approachable. The property is as suggested right on the beach, which is accessed by opening the back garden gate!! We are currently in the process of booking it again for next year as everyone loved it and it’s a very dog friendly area which was perfect for us and the pooch.

Comfortable cottage next to the beach
The cottage was spacious, clean and well maintained. We walked out the backdoor and within a few steps were on the beach. We stayed there out of season and found it quiet with no crowds, although on the downside many tourist sites do not open until April. The owner was very helpful with information and responded very quickly to our emails.

Return Visit - speaks for itself
Having already stayed here in Feb 2018, decided to return for New Year 2018/19. Lovely beach walks just a few footsteps away. Keep an eye out for handsome Irish Wolfhound ‘Milo’ & his lovely owner Brian - regular walkers on said beach.
Ventured further afield this time to other coastal beaches @ Horsey Gap (to see the seals), Sea Palling, Winterton on Sea, etc. Winterton particularly brilliant as beach & sand dunes (expansive area that reminded me of the west of Ireland) for walks. NOTE: parking fees at beaches are extortionate.
Back at base, availed of Ryan’s fish bar again (the plaice was delicious) and Sunday lunch at newly decorated The Ship Inn - excellent value & dog friendly.
After a long day walking with the beagle, we often opted for meals at home - with fabulous veg etc purchased from regional farm shops. The kitchen is well equipped (needs a couple of wooden spoons & a trivet for hot pots), and a full size fridge freezer (gotta chill the bubbles dahhhling!) Then feet up, wine/bubbles in hand & a roaring log fire.....bliss.
Per my previous review - entrance road to the property is even more ‘rugged’ (watch your suspension on those potholes! And the building works at adjacent property are ongoing (therefore access to beach only feasible through back gate of cottage & a bit unsightly).
Don’t forget your fire kit: lighteners, logs & kindling.
And a few tea lights for ambience....I think I had 230 with me this time!
The owner is on hand to help with any queries and offer advice of places to visit.

A real hidden gem.
Had a lovely stay in the cottage. Upon arrival James was there to meet us. The cottage is totally as described and was spotlessly clean on arrival. The location is outstanding and the cottage was bright clean and all fixtures and fittings are of high standard and has secure front and rear gardens both which are lovely to sit and relax in. A real home away from home. Had a lovely stay at one Coastguard Cottage so much so have booked a week there for July 2019. James the owner is a lovely man who makes you feel very welcome and is very approachable should you need help or advice. I can't wait to go back.

Lovely cottage next to the beach
Excellent location for dog walking and all local amenities. The cottage itself is well equipped and cosy. Great access to the beach through a gate at the back of the property. Very quiet spot with no through traffic although the road to the cottage is more of a dirt track. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Quiet Edge of the World Break
I'm not really one for leaving reviews, but felt this place deserved complimenting. The cottage is very well appointed, all you would need, and to a very high standard. (Very clean and tidy).
It is right on the beach, and very peaceful. It is a lovely Off the Grid location. James is very friendly, laid back and helpful. He was eager to make sure we had a good time.
We had a great time, and were very impressed.

Great stay for a week
We really enjoyed our stay for a week in Caister. The cottage is ideally placed for dog walkers, as its right next to the beach. The cottage is well equiped with everything you need. James came round to introduce himself and check we were ok etc, which was good. Parking is up a narrow alley but nice to have a space by the house. Minor downsides were the freesat box was a bit slow and didnt pick up all 5 'normal ' channels, perhaps a blind to the bathroom window is required, which was downstairs, so a bit of a pain in the middle of the night ! It did say on the website though ! These were small beer though, as we have relaxed for a week.
Caister has a great pub, The Ship for food and real ale fans and its about 90 min steady walk to Great Yarmouth.

Victorian Cottage on the beach
Perfect place to blow away the cobwebs. Just what we needed after a rather busy time. Quiet with only the sound of the sea. Miles of beach to walk the dog. Dog friendly pubs and great fish and chips. The cottage was clean and cozy even in November especially with the log fire. James the owner, pointed us in the right direction to see places of interest particularly the seals on Hosey beach, which we visited daily.

And re-laaaaaaax!
Great place for a beach holiday. Cottage was nice and clean and well equipped (there was even a bucket and spade!). Couldn't fault it, although the access road was very narrow and slightly scary, we managed to get our 7-seater car up and down it without any problems.
Practically perfect in every way!
