This is a very old hotel that has very old designs (no elevators), But it is extremely charming and this is where we always stay when going to Mt Dora.

Lakeside Inn location is just the best for historic downtown Mount Dora visit. Yes its an old inn, but the charm can't be beat. We will say, thankfully, the king room we stayed in had a much more comfortable bed than the numerous others we have experienced, so that was a plus for these old bones. The dock has been rebuilt! Yeah! And we noticed the pool side bar was back in action, though our short stay this time did not allow us to try it out. Grounds continue to be beautifully maintained and the large porch provided a wonderful view.

The grounds of this property are beautiful. It's a historic hotel with beautiful oak trees, the pool facing the lake. We stayed in the Sunset cottage, pet friendly the stairs and hallways were really dirty and smelly. The carpets were black going up the stairs. There is also an additional pet fee of 75.00 unless it's a service animal. The rooms were clean but the bathroom sink was so small it looked more like a school water fountain. No mini fridge to keèp cold water or leftover food. Small tv in the room and bed was very hard.Very good location to stay in downtown Mt.Dora in walking distance to restaurants and shops.

Check in was a breeze. The place was beautiful. Loved the old Florida style. We stayed in the Sunset Cottage - third floor. Room was very comfortable and the A/C worked GREAT! Bathroom was spacious! So easy to get around the immediate community. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Lovely oldest running hotel in Fl. Just a special place in Mt Dora. Breakfast on the front porch overlooking beautiful Lake Dora. Walk to shopping and restaurants. Huge pool. Very quiet with great accommodations. Beds were comfortable. Baths were clean and upgraded yet still the old feel of an almost 250 year old facility. A nice getaway.

Historic property centrally located to walkable streets and restaurants. However, the room amenities need help- the bathroom had rust stains and the water in the tub turned orange whenever we tried to shower. We couldn’t stand in rusted water for a shower. Maintenance admitted that he needs to replace something- front desk tried to gaslight us by saying rust is normal…but maintenance had already confirmed what it was.

The ambience of this place is fabulous. The rooms are fairly dated, but yet comfortable. There is so much charm at this property and location is superb. The view from the veranda is spectacular. This lake side property is very special.

I requested animal free accommodations upon arrival due to severe allergies and they assured me our building was animal free. I couldn’t sleep well due to my breathing being impaired throughout the night & was awakened to a dog barking outside of our room! Immediately I went to the service desk and asked why there was a dog near my room & was advised the pet bldg. was temporarily closed & she had forgot. I explained again my allergies of throat swelling and hives and told her I had no choice but to leave. I asked for a complete refund, she then advised I’ll be refunded the 2nd nite only.

We stayed 2 nights, the building we stayed in smelled strongly of bug spray and mildew. They were having a building reroofed, i had to pick up nails before i could leave the property. The pool was cloudy and not clean. The room was nice but caroets were filthy.

This is a beautiful, historic hotel in the heart of Mount Dora. I’ve stayed here many times. The main attraction for me is the pool on the lake. I was very upset finding it closed for the days I was staying. I ended up leaving early because of this. The staff was very nice and understanding. I ended up getting a full refund back. I was pleased with the staff because of that and I will go back again in the future if I know that pool is open!

Old World elegance! Lots of wood, classic English/French furniture, and photos of days gone by decorate this inn which was established in 1883! Exact opposite of a "Corporate" feel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room was overlooking Lake Dora. Gorgeous sunset view. Staff is friendly and rooms are clean.
